-The most preferable loadout consists of any variation of the toothpick line and a Gran Faust or Divine Avenger. A good side-arm would be a valiance
-
-Reason: toothpick is good for getting up close without any fear of being interrupted since it is in fact, the fastest weapon available(next to the cutter line), with 100% piercing specialized damage, a lot of reach, and very versatile. Gran Faust and Divine Avenger are good for crowd control whatnot. And valiance is self-explanatory, as it is very hard to avoid and deals decent Damage.
-
1. When attacking another player (especially guardians and strikers) always go behind or next to them, this way you don't risk getting hit.

2. Never approach a group of players head on, otherwise you die horribly.

3. Never double GF swing, unless you really have them in a corner or a group of people, it leaves you open to attack.

4. Always chain a combo with the toothpick first, even if you only use the first hit of the Gran Faust/ Divine Avenger anybody could easily counter you.

5. Above all, try to survive as long as possible while dealing decent damage, or else you spend a lot of time dead.

IMPORTANT!!! The key is breaking your opponents rythym while keeping your own, that's why valiance and antigua line are useful even though they don't do too much damage. And when out of striker boost walking in a straight line is almost as bad as staying put, instead walk erratically to throw your opponents off. Also, when gauging out your opponents attack patterns, most strikers either go for a direct attack, in a circle, or go one way then turn around and go the other, figure each one out and cut them off with the right strategy. At the same time don't only use one of these 3 strategies, use all 3!

from what i have discovered

from what i have discovered about how to become a good striker swordsman is to essentially have a heavy sword/hammer with one of the wolver lines and double swing in randomly distributed patterns, the best side arm is polaris seeing as how over half the swordsmans carry one and spamming it solely for a shock then a followthrough with a sword attack. also essential are double hexaheart trinkets. this method negates server latency to a certain degree as I believe the striker dash moves too fast for the server-to-client refresh rate to catch.

of course with a better internet connection you can elevate these tactics to a higher level but most people don't so luck becomes pretty important.

2. It's pretty viable if you come in from the south and play defensively. No combos unless you have a clear shot with a SS.

3. You don't really need to corner someone. You just need a clear shot. If you miss it, you're extra screwed though. The enemy has to be close for you to be able to hit them but if you miss, they're close enough to have a cup of tea before slamming you in the face. Midstepping is a technique I've adopted for this recently and although it's risky, it's not as risky as just slamming the button.

4. No. It leaves you vulnerable and the element of surprise doesn't last longer than the element of standing still 'cause you finished a combo. I guess it might work if you come from the south and you've got at least VH ASI or so.

5. Focus should be on keeping caps capped.

"Gizmoooo!"

You forgot the double Penta Heart Trinkets. Without that, most strikers die fail hard. Also, invisible recon footsteps. Hard to notice, but once you're aware of them it makes dealing with recons a joke.

Yeah your right Arilys

Also when approaching enemies, always keep this in mind, flies would be much easier to swat dead if they flew in predictable patterns, as opposed to erratically.
