okay, so recently(past couple of days)when i've been joining friends on floors before Basil(11 and 21, specifically)once we get to Basil, he won't sell me anything! what I got from the patch notes said that even if i joined on D12 and helped kill things, basil would still sell to me.

So what gives? Is this a glitch? was it intentional? cause it's REALLY starting to piss me off.

It's been happening to me as

It's been happening to me as well. I'm joining a full 2-3 floors before terminals and not getting any recipes... happening in both T2 and T3.

NOT cool!

D21 and below doesn't work. D20 and above does. Tested it today. Best of luck on your hunts

But the old patch said

But the old patch said COMPLETE A FLOOR. That means D22, D12, D3 need to be completed, so starting from D21,D11,D2 should be fine (because starting on those floors themselves doesn't count for obvious reasons).

* You will not be able to purchase 2+ star items from a terminal vendor if you have not completed an entire floor before reaching the terminal. Never buy a 'Basil port' from another player unless you're in the market for 1* items!
So what's going on with D11, D21?

I think there is

I think there is miscommunication there, I thought you had to do all the floors before him to get it.

This too happened to me, I joined at the BEGINNING of D22, did the whole thing and got to D23 and Basil wouldn't sell to me.

No, the game can't recognize

No, the game can't recognize whether you're at the beginning or end of a stage if you join it in progress, so to solve all problems you must come down from the level prior for it to count as a stage.

Applies to at least Jelly king too. I joined at D16 two days ago, and got one token(because the only level that was completed under this definition was D17). Joined at D15 today, got two tokens (because the only levels completed would be D16 and 17). Doing all three will get you all three (some still say you can get more but that's not the point of this).

And I could swear before the reboot from yesterday (but after the major update from the previous day) I was able to join at D11 go to Basil then buy.

Perhaps that was a loophole

Perhaps that was a loophole and they fixed it, I honestly refuse to believe the game CAN'T recognize this fact, more like they don't want it to.

O you developers, why won't

O you developers, why won't you take a class in writing and communications.

It's good though, since all that helping your friends when they need it and then when you reach the floor, your rewarded with nothing.
Nice design.

Well considering that social

Well considering that social is broken (unless they fixed it today since I left), I'm not confident right now in any fixes. This isn't a complaint about the major patch, minor important things to me have been broken and even now the patch is lying about what it does? Because start from the beginning should mean, start from the beginning, do half of a stratum should mean do half of the stratum, but what does it say? Complete a floor, so that should mean no more than 2 floors above should count. And that's not happening.

LOL I'm complaining about the

LOL I'm complaining about the patch, I hate most every aspect about it. It's not even that I'm hard to please, it's that there were much better way to fix the things they felt they needed to fix, without ticking off their playerbase and coming across as a cash grab.

Basil, seems broken now to.

>.> Well I just want my really basic functionality back. They had reasons for doing the other stuff whether I agree or disagree, but nothing about breaking how partying works or saying the wrong things about Basil is acceptable to me.

The patch notes said

The patch notes said "completed an entire floor". Computers will operate on the "letter of the law" rather than the spirit of it.

Surely, it can't be a surprise that "an entire floor" means that you have to start at the same time the floor is generated. Anything else would be confusing, exploitable, and/or impossible to implement consistently.

Well, I haven't found that to be a problem since I've taken to soloing the Scarlet Fortress(Dark Skull Gate T2) and I always start at Moorcroft...
But Vatel has been a troll the past few days. I can sense that troll face under that mask.

"Perhaps that was a loophole and they fixed it, I honestly refuse to believe the game CAN'T recognize this fact, more like they don't want it to."

Most likely it'd be more difficult to code in than it's worth, and would probably be either buggy or prone to exploitation.

The most straightforward definition of "complete an entire floor" is "arrived by elevator from the flor above, departed by elevator to the floor below". When you start trying to allow things like joining within a certain distance of the arrival elevator or within a certain time of the level starting, it gets unreliable. It's better to have it clear-cut as in the elevator-to-elevator rule.

which is exactly what I

which is exactly what I assumed it meant, which is what worked the on the day of the big patch, but not the follow up one. However, a bugfix was released since I wrote in this topic and I won't be playing until Monday, but perhaps this definition was fixed again.

I guess that makes perfect

I guess that makes perfect sense, so basically I need to join at the end of the other level and then waste twice the amount of ce going down on D22, gotcha.

pretty much, but you still

pretty much, but you still save energy from skipping d19 and 20. Though this is only true if this is back to working on that definition, if you go out with some friends and drop in on d11,21. Lemme know how it goes.

I also assumed that "complete

I also assumed that "complete an entire floor" meant coming down the elevator and doing that entire floor till the next elevator. In my case joining 3 floors early would mean I completed 2 entire floors... no dice. No recipes. What a waste of CE.

I joined at 21 today and I

I joined at 21 today and I couldn't buy any recipes, however joining at 20 was alright. I just hope that this is not meant to be the case.

Also I seem to be having the WORST luck with basil at the moment.

EDIT: If you clear a level with a party then leave, and then come back you can still buy recipes from basil. I had cleared levels 9-11 with my party. Left accidentally at the elevator and rejoined half-way through level 12 and could still buy recipes from basil. I wonder if this works when I clear level 9 and then rejoin at basil? Time for some testing!

Well, Basil's the reward for

Well, Basil's the reward for slogging through the less profitable stratum. Skipping to him is kind of cheating your way to get the reward faster.

The reward for going through the second half of the tier is, of course, mad crowns.

Then perhaps they need to

Then perhaps they need to make it so we don't' feel like we have to cheat because the other levels are UNPROFITABLE.

That's the idea, yeah. You

That's the idea, yeah. You have to put up with the unprofitable levels to get a chance at Basil's recipes as the reward. The second half does NOT have Basil at the end, so there's plenty of crowns as the reward instead.

well it's college.

Though I think even at high school this wouldn't have been blocked, it's just Java. But then again because of things that found in my last year of high school, one which was playing Halo there, and the others was a proxy that idiots could use, they probably block everything there too now haha...

I don't have internet at home. Never have. Nor do I have a computer.

Wait so how am I writing? School laptop (very old) + Next Door Wifi :D

Neither of which is suitable for running this game independently but together its nigh impossible.
