When I start a terminal or arcade fight or something (new here), and I'm fighting and everything and at the most randomest time, the screen goes black and closes my game. I can open it and keep playing but every time, it's a waste of 10 wisp energy. Sometimes I can go a long time before it closes, sometimes it closes once I start the fight with the other team members. It makes me feel like I let them down with one less person to help and it's wasting my energy. Help? :(

When you say the screen goes

When you say the screen goes black you you mean the game's window or your entire computer screen? Either way it will probably be work looking though the Technical Help Sticky.

Well, I did the screen thing

Well, I did the screen thing with those numbers 1024, 600, 30, 60, or something and when I do and start the game, it changes to 1024, 600, 0, 0.

The registry tweak for

The registry tweak for changing screen resolution is only to be used when you cannot change the screen resolution or detail settings in game. If you are suffering application crashes while running the game normally it will not help.

And the whole screen goes

And the whole screen goes black, then exits the game.
It only happens in the Clockworks =/

Now it happens in the Arcade

Now it happens in the Arcade and Bazaar -_-
Except it doesn't have a black screen, the whole game just exits.

Did you ever look into the recommended updates for Java and graphics drivers at the beginning of the sticky?

I did but I have a COMPAQ

I did but I have a COMPAQ computer and I'm not sure I downloaded the right one.
And when the black screen appears and exits, there's this thing that says something around this: _____ has stopped loading and is now working properly.

Okay then. This is starting

Okay then. This is starting to sound an awful lot like a video driver problem. If you could use the instructions in section one of the Tech Help sticky to tell me the name of your display device and tell me what version of Windows you are using I can dig up a new display driver for you to try out. Installing it should hopefully remove your black screen events.

Hi elementah.

Could you please have a look in that dxdiag box and post a bit more detail. You haven't quite posted enough for me to go off of. For example, If I posted the same about this laptop I'm using it would be:

Display Device Name: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family
Windows Version: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

Okay then, so here's what

Okay then, so here's what you're going to do with the new graphics driver.

  1. Go here and select your Operating System in the center box. In the right-hand box select Drivers.
  2. The Matching Results list will display the most recent published driver for your setup on the top of the list, download and save it to a place you can find easily later.
  3. In the Windows Control Panel navigate to the Device Manager. (Control Panel\System and Security\System in the newer setups)
  4. In the new window expand Display adapters and right click the listed device.
  5. Select Uninstall and make sure you tick the box for deleting the driver software. NOTE: Your screen will flicker and change resolution when you do this, this is entirely normal.
  6. Restart Your computer.
  7. Find that driver download you collected earlier and run it to install the most up to date version. Follow the prompts on the installation program to finish up.

This should help with the driver crashes you seem to be having. Just please note that the GMA 945 is a video chipset that is considered to be at or below minimum requirement for this game. While the game will run, you will probably have to reduce the graphics settings in the in game options to "Low" for the best experience.
