Turn Heat Amps into Heat Crystal Amps

Back in old SK we used heat amps to double the heat we got and it in turn doubled our level progression.
Post patch these things are pretty worthless since you most likely will not have enough crystals to keep up with it.
In conclusion, the Heat Amp is not as effective as it used to be.

I have 3 suggestions, independent from each other and not to be considered one idea.
1. Lower it's price. It does less and should cost less. This is my least favored adjustment.
2. Turn it into a Crystal Amp, double the amount of crystals we gain. It's probably the most reasonable adjustment.
3. Add the crystal amp adjustment and also keep the doubled heat. This is what the heat amp should do post-patch, but doesn't. I realize this is an unrealistic adjustment expectation and should not be considered reasonable or more accurately within the reasonability of the company.

Yes. Double forge crystal drops would be great, and let my shiny-collector personality feast on boxes. It would certainly help people who can't stand the grind. (Uh...unless you're making a bunch of different things, it's really not so bad imo).

However, I think a separate heat amp and crystal drop amp would be most appropriate.

Heck, why not even make mineral/material amps, for people who are not only impatient with heating, but feeding their pets as well. Of course this wouldn't be a huge increase, but significant enough to spend E on, to be sure, if you're impatient. There's enough players that the material market is pretty inflated anyway. Would probably be an issue. Just an idea. Other games have increased luck/magic for increased drops. Would probably be okay. Would have to consider a lot of different angles. Like that heat is used for one thing and one thing only - leveling. Materials are used for a lot of different things.

Would these special amps be possible special box prizes, or Supply Depot only?

I think the heat amp should revert the heating system to the old one.
I mean COME ON. The thing is expensive as hell, it should do something more important.

just maybe...

Maybe they should make this 'forge' different.
I'm thinking about the old system where your weapons level up at a certain amount of heat, but!
Once you reach that certain amount, a notifiaction will appear...
'Do you want to add crystals to have a chance for bonusses?
Then you can either say yes or no, yes will cost you crystals but might give you a bonus.
And no won't cost any crystals and won't give any bonusses.
To balance this, maybe the chance for a heat bonus or prize box should increase.
And the amount of heat you recieve should decrease, but looking at the price and rareness of crystals, I think that's worth it.

Hope you like it !

And yes sorry, it hs nothing to do with the heat amp but it does with the heat and crystals .

I've thought about this

I've thought about this before and temporarily came to the same conclusion you did, "What's the point of heating faster when I will still be brick walled by fire crystals?".

When pondering more I had realized that players could bypass this problem by buying crystals from the AH, supply depot, or already having a stockpile of crystals.

Essentially, heat amps do have situational use but I believe as anyone would that they should have a more obvious direct use. Players shouldn't have to think about heating mechanics for 10 mins to understand why or why they don't need a heat amp.

Best fix in my opinion would to apply a forging discount equal to the heat bonus (rounded up or down if needed). For example if a player is getting a 50% heat amp bonus then an item that costs 66 heat crystals should cost 33 instead.
