I personally use this setup, which works regardless of OS (Or should at least)

Movement: WASD
Aim: Mouse
Attack : Left Click
Toggle Auto-Target: Right Click
Shield: Space bar
Dash: Shift
Shield Bash: R
Next Weapon: Q
Previous Weapon: E
Swap to Weapon 1: F (My primary weapon)
Sprite Ability 1: X
Sprite Ability 2: C
Sprite Ability 3: V

why does it matter?

Why does it matter that it's a Mac? Just use whatever control scheme works on any other computer. If there is some reason why this cannot happen --- for example, you're used to a mouse with many buttons --- then tell us.

Info please

What is more comfortable when playing this genre? Examples: some prefer keyboard and mouse, keyboard only, mouse only, others prefer some type of gamepad.

MANLY SETTING DISCUSSION

Depending on the system, it usually doesn't matter. Here's one that doesn't depend very heavily on your mouse keys, though.

_

Move Up - W
Move Down - S
Move Left - A
Move Right - D
Attack - X
Shield - Z
Dash - C
Shield Bash - V

Swap Weapon - Scrollwheel

Sprite Ability 1 - E
Sprite Ability 2 - R
Sprite Ability 3 - F

_

With movement reliant on the WASD or left click, and aiming by the mouse, you should be pretty safe.

Us Mac users have it

Us Mac users have it unlucky.

Mac has probably the most useless gaming mouse ever, with only a right click, and having a trackpad like me is even worse.

I use all keyboard due to this, Arrow Keys for moving,Space to switch,Z for attack, X for defend, C for strafe(i use this to cover for mouse most of the time), A,S,D for Sprite attacks, and everything else the same.

I HATE using trackpad to aim, it's just so hard to use.

These mice are compatible with macs too.

My custom layout:

  • w move forward
  • a move left
  • s Move down
  • d Move right
  • mouse facing
  • Left mouse button Attack
  • Right mouse button Defend
  • Middle mouse button (scroll wheel button) Sprite ability 1
  • e Sprite ability 2
  • Q sprite ability 3
  • scoll wheel movement switch weapon

dash and shield bash not used.
