That’s it. I’m sick of all this “Fully Heated Blitz Needles” b****** that’s going on in Spiral Knights right now. Brandishes deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.
I should know what I’m talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine Brandish in Haven for 50000 Crowns (that’s about $10) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my Branish.
Spiral smiths spend years working on a single Brandish and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.
Branishes are thrice as sharp as other swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a Troika can cut through, a brandish can cut through better. I’m pretty sure a brandish could easily bisect a mecha knight wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.
Ever wonder why the gremlins never bothered conquering Haven? That’s right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined knights and their brandishes of destruction. Even in Operation Crimson hammer, Gremlin soldiers targeted the men with the branishes first because their killing power was feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Brandishes are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in Spiral Knights. Here is the stat block I propose for Brandishes:
CTR +2, ASI +2, Split Normal/Elemental, deals 650 damage per hit.
Now that seems a lot more representative of the cutting power of Brandishes in real life, don’t you think?
tl;dr = Brandishes need to do more damage in Spiral Knights, see my new stat block.
All other swords can hardly even reach the brandishes power, besides the rocket hammer.

FSC, depth 27. Damage bonus: VH+. Glacius first and secind hit: 360 damage. 3rd hit: ... I hate this weapon.
I checked the wiki for glacius (at least i think that's what that is) and it says 270-292 damage first hit..
Those numbers are not representative of the particular enemy I was attacking in that picture.

I'm SO glad you mentioned this Auto. One time, I was fighting the RT, and my perfect Combuster didn't slice through it's armor easily? WHO NERFED IT? THIS IS TERRIBLE!
Brandishes are the finest of the fine. Made from only the highest quality steel. Even Punch wouldn't be able to improve Brandishes with his Unique Variants. They're simply too powerful, simply too perfect to be improved upon.
And yet. And yet. AND YET. OOO HAS MADE A DISGRACE OF BRANDISHES. NERFING THEM. We should be able to cleave through a Trojan's front shield! We should be able to sunder Vanaduke's mace! Those who wield a Brandish line...SHOULD BE GODS. We should be able to smash through the Perma-Frostifur's...well...fur. We should smash through the armor of the Roarmulus Twins as easily as a buff guy can cut through hot knives with butter. Wait a sec... Don't you understand, people? Brandishes are dreadfully UNDERPOWERED. Blood and tears have been shed in the forging of these weapons. We should be able to destroy The Swarm itself with only one Brandish! UNNERF THEM NOW!

My ASI VH Combuster is underpowered. Buff now.
My damage bonus undead low and CTR med Voltedge is highly underpowered, it needs a buff, so I can kill everything in 1 hit.
We need that.
Also, brandishes should be able to summon bosses to help us, because brandishes are too under powered.
Also, how do you have more than 1 thing out on spiral spy at a time?
I don't own a brandish, only a DA.
I get the feeling I'm missing out on something.

I thought about the Brandish line, disgraced by OOO. I've compiled a list of suggestions!
1. Charge attacks should spawn 20 Love Puppies, Mecha Turrets, and ultra health capsules.
2. When you hit an enemy, roll a six sided dice in-game. Here's what happens for each one:
Roll a one: Insta-kill
Roll a two: Insta-kill
Roll a three: Insta-kill
Roll a four: Reroll
Roll a five: Reroll
Roll a six: Reroll
3. When an enemy sees a Brandish, it should immediately cower in fear, rendering it unable to attack whatsoever,
4. When talking to an annoying NPC, you can kill them with the Brandish.
5. Feeding a Brandish to your sprite will turn your sprite in Excotoalit, the god of brandishes. You have won the game. Congratz.
They need to do 1000 normal damager per explosion on the charge attack and strong curse.
Until this happens...this is why we can't have good things. D:
On a somewhat serious note, I wish the Brandishes, more specifically the Acheron, had better attack speed. Nerf the charge into the ground, I don't really care. I never used my Brandish for anything other than it's normal attacks.
Before the brandish it was all about those Divine Avenger Charges. I think OOO might have made the brandishes a lot stronger in order to compete wish DA. Hopefully in the future other weapons get similar buffs.
It needs a buff so I can get 40k damage in LD.
I have to disagree with TC. Cautery is still too OP.
Cautery should do 150% shadow damage 150% elemental damage 200% normal damage in LD. Normal hits inflict stun.
1HKO Royal Jelly, confiscates all teammate's loots and tokens.
Makes 3 random people DC by clicking "Equip as weapon 0"
And the charge attack summons a friendly Shadow Lair Boss to help you and 200 love puppies.
What it needs on the charge is to call 2 waves of 100 BaB air strikes.
I want to know why my Voltedge can't one hit vanaduke. He's just some princess in a fat metal suit. My brandish is electrcic, so the shock should kill him instantly. Make is so my Voltedge has a perk to one-hit anything with metal on it.
With a large enough current, you can in theory electrify everything with one hit

Only wielders of the same type of brandish should survive.
On the Voltedge discription , it says it can discharge 1.21 gigawats. This means the most likely time it could discharge it is on its charge. Humans would die from that amount, and probably any machinery would short cuircuit, and weapons/armor that are metal would kill the user, and pretty much everything else would die from the heat created, so ya it realistically should be 1 hit KO

Anyways, all hostile creatures should die instantly, and it's charge attack should give you 50000000060060220 crowns per second for a year.
Clearly if we want to be scientifically accurate, the Voltedge charge should cause the target to be thrown into the past, before the cradle existed, allowing the target to slowly perish in then void of space.
^ That all depends on the amperage. If the voltedge's current is only like a milliamp, it will only singe the crap out of whatever it touches.
Amperage is what kills, not voltage. Thats why a car battery can kill you with 12 volts rating, yet a 400,000 volt vandergraff generator will not kill you because it has far lower current..
