I'm planning to make one. I was deterred from the shard bomb in favor of big angry, opted for DBB over scintillating sun, using Dark ret and Shocking salt for slimes, and the status bombs don't do heavy damage.
Anyone have experience with this bomb against, say, kats? Ill be doing vortex bombs too, but I want to try out these shard bombs too.
Deadly Crystal bomb is good is just you need to know how to use it. I have the 4* version of it that still needs heating and it works out fine but I need to do better with it sadly I'm not like Zeddy that uses shard bombs like a total boss. XD
Also it's sadly not good on kat despite being weak to elemental but it sure works on zombies. :D

The shard line in general is actually pretty good, they are my personal favourite, but the only issues with them can be that pesky hit limit, and the hard-to-read knockback direction. As far as crystal bomb, being the only elemental shard, I use it quite often, and I find the enemies that are weak to elemental are rather straightforward to bomb. That is with the exception of kats, but through practice, as Zeddy has displayed, you can use them quite effectively.
Crystal Bombs are only deadly if you happen to be Zeddy.
Crystal bomb can be a bit hard to use, but I find it to be a lot of fun baiting kats into them. I've got a video where I show off a few bombs against kats.
