I'm not on anyone's side or trying to offend anyone, but bombs require players to actually walk into your area denial. That requires no skill. In other words, bombs are not meant to get damage with, it's an aid to keep players away from you unless they are stupid enough to kill them selves.

It's this way with most competitive games, impressive scores have more to do with bad opponents than incredibly skilled gameplay. You generally don't get an overkill extermination against good players in Halo, and you don't get 45k damage in a competitive game of LD. Still, that's not meant looking at damage isn't important, as long as you take into consideration your opponent's skill level and the overall damage of the game.
