I've been playing this game for two days now, and I ran into somethings I'd like answered, sorry if some of them are not related to being new.

first off, I'm curious as to what's intelligent to do, right now I have Ashen armor, and intend to go for Vog Cub, is that wise, or is something else better to go for?

secondly, I recently found a true love locket, I haven't found it in the auction, so I can't estimate how much it is worth, someone tried buying it off my for 40k crowns but I felt a bit uncertain so I didn't accept the deal.

thirdly I currently wield a silent nightblade for a melee weapon, and the Cryo driver as a gunarm, I want to replace the cryo driver with a bomb, which one do you recommend or should I keep the gun?

and a final question, is the Mighty defender a good shield, or should I seek to replace it asap?

thanks in advance, any help is highly appreciated.

Oh man, thank GOD you didn't sell it. 40k is a major, major undersell. That thing is worth a huge bundle of money since its a collector's item.

Anyways, you can upgrade your ashtail to vog cub if you want to. Vog cub should last you for many FSC runs. As far as your shield, you should definitely replace it. You might want to pick up a skelly shield, and if you can last that long, get a CoA once you have the vanaduke tokens.

thanks for the answer!

I'll work on replacing the shield, but what's CoA? (sorry I'm not very familiar with this game)

and how much do you think would be a fair price to sell it for? (the locket)

Clipher, I have a detailed sword guide for people in your situation. In addition to comparing the swords themselves, it discusses armor for sworders and sidearm guns and bombs for sworders.

To answer your specific questions: Yes, Vog Cub is good, but so are the other Ash Tail armors. You should definitely replace Defender. See my guide.

Your True Love Locket is extremely valuable. Do not sell it until you have many opinions about what it's worth. To ask for a price check or find a buyer, use the Bazaar forum. You might also search the Bazaar forum, using a common web search engine such as Google.

You could replace Cryo Driver with Shivermist Buster, Voltaic Tempest, etc. But then you may have to use your bomb to kill undead and fiends (which resist your sword). As I explain in my guide, you want to own a mixture of damage types.

thanks alot for the reply!

I will certainly check out your guide and visit the bazaar, I've seen some prices on the locket but those were from a while ago, so I don't know if they are accurate.

CoA = Crest of Almire. Good shadow fire shock shield. In this game, status defense on your shield outweighs damage resistance on your shield, so your first bet is to get shields that cover all status types. Skelly shield will let you get your foot in the door in FSC since it has shadow resistance which will help somewhat, until you defeat vanaduke enough times to get a Crest of Almire. Then you'll have two shields to cover all status types.

I would try using a calibur line instead of a nightblade by the way, if you insist on using only two slots and a sword/gun combo. You can continue using a cryo driver for the gun, but you should try to stay neutral typed if you only have 1-blade, unless you know the specific enemy composition you'll face, such as in danger missions or FSC.
