TL;DR.
how tokill teh gorgos ?idk

I can't run from them to trail them around, shooting must be pretty quick and accurate to interrupt, and they don't swarm in predictable formations when they gang up on me (other knights). I don't get how they move, their plan of attack, so I nearly always get bit. 'at least once. 'if not, then to the brink of death.

I've seen people spam charging blitzes and snarby bombs in hopes of warding them off (or taking big bites with their shields between close range attacks), but they're clearly not foolproof methods. They can easily bounce of range or other gorgos further away will speed-bite to you past snarby bomb blasts. I'm thinking, Okay, we're clearly doing good damage, but considering the ratio of damage dealt to health sacrificed in comparison to fighting other monsters,we're still taking too much damage ourselves.

So what I've found, since they flinch out of their attacks easily, is that I can hide within the blast of chained shard bombs. Or, when I don't have one equipped, I hope for the best and shoot to interrupt as they waltz ever closer. 'and that's all I've got.

Greavers, thwackers, kats, trojans, lumbers, mecha knights -- they attack in predictable intervals and travel in near predictable lines according to your own movement. Can anyone explain gorgos' attack pattern? Is there a guide that google has failed to find for me? What viable ways are there of taking down a swarm of gorgos without getting bit?

DBB and shard bombs are pretty much the best ones. I find they work so effectively I'm practically invincible to them. Do you have max CTR?

Also remember you can dash directly past them when they start biting 'cause they don't track 180 once they do.

If using a toothpick and you aren't up against a big amount, I personally just combo them. It keeps them interrupted. When you're up against a crowd, nothing beats DBB.

That's because enemies stop tracking you when you're dashing, probably because it uses the same coding as when you're KO'd.

It also ends up reassigning aggro until you hit whatever was chasing you again.

Hail, Science Knights!

@Zeddy
Yeah, I run and live by max CTR. I feel useless without them...
(edit: 'without It. I feel useless without It.)

@Krakob
I try not to carry a sword around (unless I smell greavers) because of reasons, but I'll try that! 'could reduce the amount of backup weapons I carry to fiend-varied places.

But gorgos don't move predictably, do they? 'Like greavers, wolvers, and kats will aim for your butt, and thwackers will usually swing and dash in a sort of V away from their initial... um, standpoint. At least, alright, they won't detect you dashing back behind them. How else can a knight manipulate gorgos?

I have a feeling one of the upcoming handguns may keep those grotesque gorgos at bay.

something's wrong, there's a trojan approaching

@Whimsicality

Actually, presently ye may try Callahan on Gorgos if ye have not, they stop them from actions.

Callahan is fun and all but doesn't suit the gun'n'run style quite as much as say, a piercing gun that lets you walk and has considerable kickback

I found this very util on fighting against gorgos. The freeze disable their movements and they become more easy to get hitted. if you are soloing, you could spam the bomb and wait the freeze make some damage. But I'm a party, you could use this just to immobilize them and facilitate the job of your party members.

A volley of well aimed Blitz needle will do the trick, try to shoot the gorgo at close range so it doesn't evade your salvo and bite the crap out of you. (yes, they do fly in an irregular patterns to throw you off your aim.)

Zeddy's shard bomb suggestion works pretty well for me (as long as I'm getting the timing and placement right, which isn't always the case). I haven't gotten my bomb all the way heated up yet and it still does quite well. The gorgos are guaranteed to be stunned every time you hit them. And I'm not running in any bomber gear so I don't even get the ctr beyond what the bomb has inherently.

I'm typically a sworder with a gun and a haze bomb, but the shard bomb is my best friend for gargos. Evil bitey things...
