Thank you!

Hmm. A Technician? In a battlefield? Never thought I'd see that one coming...

Well, you are as blind as a Chroma Welp deciding to fight someone with a Barbarous Thorn Blade...

"Thanks for the Charger, it'll save my hand a lot of ache," Alec chuckled. A saw approaching him at a high speed snapped him out of his humor. He held his shield in front of him and braced himself. With an audible crackle, his shield sprang to life, a blue semicircle expanding around them. The saw hit his shield's energy field and bounced off harmlessly, though.

"Kind of expected something more...dramatic...." Alec muttered as he shot in the direction of the stalker. He missed. Badly. A saw, from behind! Alec dashed forward and sundered it with his Barbarous Thorn Blade.

"This way! Hurry!" Glaedr activated his Miasma ability. A purple aura engulfed the battlefield, and Gremlins began to stagger from weariness. A saw sunk into the ground, inches from the Tech.

"Alec requests some backup here," Alec yelled into his comlink. A few Gremlin snipers were raining Pulsar shots at them, and there were still saws flying around. A few knights disengaged and ran towards his position, shooting around them as they aimed for the snipers. Then, now with two additional people, they rushed back, covering themselves with suppressor fire. The field was chaos. Suddenly, a Thwacker appeared out of seemingly nowhere and lunged, only to disintegrate from a mecha turret beam. Finally, they reached the barricade once again. By now, Alec was much too familiar with it.

"You can set up your turret..." Alec scanned the uneven landscape. Aha! He spied a cliff, heavily defended by knights. It allowed all those there to rain death upon their foes.

"There!" Alec pointed. He fired a clip into a Mortafire, then offered a hand. "Need some help getting there?"

Cleaning up.

Adam's shield shined once again, repaired to the point where there was not a single scratch. He walked into the medical tent and took a quick treatment, as many others were more severely injured.

"That arm of yours should be back to normal in one or two days." Adam thanked the medic, and walked out for something to eat. He was a fast healer, so he would probably be fighting again by tomorrow.

Adam finished his pasta without many words, paid the chef, and headed back to his quarters quietly. Just as he walked inside, he felting a large vibration coming from his back. Pulling his shield off, Adam found the jagged blade he had taken from the Void Gremlins.

You and all of your filthy kind will die.

"Filthy, huh?" Adam handed the blade off to a technician, not knowing what else to do with it, and then hung up his own things in his tent.

He sighed. He was too reckless today, getting a huge gash in his arm. He called for the reinforcements, he shouldn't have been surprised. He crawled into a fetal position on his bed, and sleep came quickly.

WOW.

Carter heard the squadmates of Yuuki snicker, and he twirled around, hand on his Spitfire when Yuuki bowed at him, introducing himself.

"Carter Husbrough. Nice to meet. Not just nice, I mean... But very nice, to see you. I DID see you just now, but we didn't talk... and then...." Carter gave up talking, and just smiled at her.

Does Jack's 'Rose' actually enable him buffs?(Rhetorical)

Olivia descended down the elevator, as the rest of the group did the same.

Jack slid down the cords quickly, using the cord as a base to jump off onto the next floor. As Jack did a double backflip and landed perfectly on the grass, he could see black monstrosities of all kinds approaching them, signifying that they were of the Swarm.

Nothin' to be afraid of.

Spotting the defenseless Astran and Olivia alone with no help, Jack dashed towards him. A Void Lumber stepped in Jack's path, attempting to smash him as Jack gritted his teeth. "I have time not for thou, vermin." Jack slowly unsheathed the katana that emanated a black aura of pure darkness he had on the left side of his waist, grasping the dark blade with both his hands as he ran faster than he did before. "Darkness that rectifies all, I summon hither." The dark aura enshrouding the sword increased in intensity as Jack himself gained a dark aura, smiling in an insane method for what seemed to be a millisecond. What happened next was completely out of the ordinary.

Jack vanished into midair, appearing again past the Lumber as he sheathed back his katana, his dark aura fading into the chaotic atmosphere. The Lumber's lifeless body split into half as it seemed to dissipate into midair, before being sucked into Jack's katana's sheath. Jack remained unfazed as he stopped at Astran's location, speaking as if nothing had happened. "Astran, we'll need to regroup with the others. I can already see Yuuki in the distance with Carter." Jack pointed to their location, waiting for Astran's response as he tapped his foot impatiently.

OOC:
Jack's 'Rose' is kinda like a Battle Sprite, though instead of being a friendly creature, it is a deadly weapon which originates from an unknown era. It has a few abilities:

-It gains more power as it claims more souls.

-It grants the user insanity for as long as it is used in battle. If the user does not fight back against it with all his/her willpower, his/her soul will be claimed by the sword and it will be owned by whoever grabs it. However, the amount of souls claimed will be reset.

-It heavily increases the user's physical attributes in accordance to how many souls have been claimed by that person whilst using the sword.

One who knows a bit about the sword could easily tell that Jack has killed so many monsters(or people) such that it seems as if he is teleporting in a short distance.

King of the Hill.

"There!" Alec pointed. He fired a clip into a Mortafire, then offered a hand. "Need some help getting there?"

Vincent nodded, "If you could get me up to that point until that small Garrison are in range of giving me covering fire, I can set up this beast and we can get into business". He readjusted his shoulders to get the bag back into a carrying state, and cocked his 2nd Gun he had brought along for personal protection. The Rustic styled Firerm looked liked a heavily modded Punch Gun. It had a Drum-fed ammo holstered near its handle, bearing some similarity to the Autogun lines. The Barrel seemed extended from the Punch's original and given a basic set of sights.

"This is something I designed in Emberlight, to help clear out pesky Warrens. No name for it yet, other than a good life-saver. It uses shells full of a material pretty commonplace around here, sharpened for a bit of extra edge". Loading a drum into a slot by the handle, he clicks it into place and brings it resting on his shoulder, held by his robotic arm.

"Oh, and before I forget-", Vincent hands Alec a Remedy Capsule, "-This is for that banged up Guardian you were with. Seemed he'd been afflicted with something fierce from those bandages, so I hope that helps". Vincent then salutes him, and signals he's ready to get going as soon as possible to the hill.

The swarm has to be planning something...

I look at the knight and he said "No, but thanks. I need to get in practice." His sprite then said "Indeed you do. Heck, you need a year of practice to get back on par." The knight then said "Shut up!" The knight then patted the Maskeraith. "Glaedr here once took a trip to the Unknown Passage with me. As you know, that place can be deadly to the weak of mind. He's never really recover-" The Maskeraith then said "blahblahblahtryingtosavefaceinfrontofpeoplenowaren'tyou?" Then a demo bomb falls into our area but the knight threw it back. I then see a knight falling onto the ground hard but I was still suffering pain so I couldn't use my shield's ability so it acted like a regular one... An explosion goes off and seems to deafen the knight and the sprite then said "Come on! They need help!" The knight shots a bullet and kills a gremlin scorcher. I start thinking on what to do until someone says "Hey! You guys still alive!? I got some Extra kick to your gear and defence! Just hold up...". I thought "Why did this knight call me a he?" I noticed most if not all the void gremlins noticed it and started to move towards the knight. The other knight who was in the battlefield killed another scorcher and the knight in the battlefield said to the other knight "Hey there! Sorry about the mess here. We've a few unruly guests who won't leave! Alec Prelude at your service." I thought "First time I heard that person's name..." I decided to go out into the battlefield as well and pulled up my shield but the healing and increased defense aura was missing. I go towards the repair tent and repaired it again. I go over the barrier and started to fight the void gremlins. I attacked them with my Gran Faust but the weird thing was, they ignored me and I thought "Why are they not coming after me? They must be planning something..." A ghostmane stalker hits my shield. I turned around and it wasn't corrupted but it seemed angry. I slash at it, killing it but the buzz-saw managed to hit my arm which started to make it bleed. I said "No, not more pain to deal with." I take off some bandage and wrapped it around my arm and then heard more heavy footsteps and thought "That's sounds like a Trojan or a Dreadnaught wearing armor..." I turn around but I see nothing and thought it was in my head. I see a scorcher aiming at me but I launched a charged Gran Faust shot at it but I felt even more pain which made me drop my Gran Faust and shield. I look at them and see they both have a curse symbol on them. I hear more heavy footsteps but I couldn't see anything that would make that much noise...

There.

OOC: Sorry guys, my Steam account wasn't working until now :/.

A Remedy Capsule? Hmm, this person was quite prepared for the battlefield. Launching a charged shot at the Gremlins, Alec motioned with his free hand. He dashed towards the cliff slightly, fighting with a gun in his left hand and a sword in his right. Cutting a path through the enemies, he was careful of the Void ones. Strange, but the Void and the normal Gremlins seemed to be not fighting each other. Were they working together?

Alec's thoughts were cancelled by one-two-three Void Thwackers swinging at him. He immediately dashed back, and the four began to circle around each other.

Don't have time for this...

He quickly glanced around and saw that the path he had cut was now within range of the knights on the cliff.

"Go!" He yelled at the Tech. "I'll handle these peeps!"

He hoped he was right.

As one, the Thwackers lunged forward, swinging their axes in a manner so they covered all of Alec's frontal area. He dashed upwards, and slammed the trigger. Pulsing orbs of blue light bounced harmlessly off Gremlin Void Shields. They seemed to be strengthened by The Swarm. As he came back down, he dashed back, out of their range. Both sides cautiously advan-

Boom. One Gremlin exploded, his pieces fading away. One Gremlin whirled around as the other kept his eye on Alec. Explosions were blocked by the Gremlin facing away from him. Of course. Glaedr. While his Maskeraith led away one Thwacker, Alec saw the other sheathe his hammer and draw out... a Stable Rocket Hammer? Fudge. As if this battle wasn't hard enough already.

It lunged, teeth bared. Alec was low on his Striker Dash, so he absorbed the blow on his Grey Owlite Shield (conveniently taped to his left arm). Sparks flew. He slashed at the Thwacker, who blocked it on the hilt of his hammer. Slamming on his Valiance, the blasts seemed to have no effect. The Gremlin was obviously stronger. Alec was soon going to be overpowered. In desperation, he kicked the foe in the stomach, knocking it back. It backflipped and landed on its feet.

What the hell?

Alec shot at it while using the normal Trooper Dash to avoid another struggle. It simply hissed with rage and lunged again. Alec put away his Valiance. It was useless. Instead, he drew out his Combuster. Seriously. What would a toothpick do to this insanely overpowered creature? Poke a small hole in it? Alec charged both weapons at the same time. Maybe he could break through the Gremlin shield...

An faint, green explosion alerted Alec that Glaedr had defeated the other Thwacker. However, his sprite telepathically communicated that he was out of quills for a few minutes. He sighed. His swords were nearly fully charged. The Gremlin lunged. Alec blocked, straining with all his might.

Come on, just a few more seconds...

Alec dashed above the Gremlin, kicked it in the head (which did virtually no damage), and landed on the ground. The Gremlin stumbled back, and Alec unleashed his charge attack, lunging. Both swords cut deeply into the Gremlin, and the explosions sent it to Kingdom Come. Except, you know, it was still alive.

What the - that does it. Screw this.

Throwing caution to the wind, Alec channeled his exponentially increasing annoyance into a charge at the still alive Gremlin. His momentum and rage barely let his strength overcome the Void Thwacker's. This Gremlin must have been an elite. With a flourish of his left hand, he stuck his Combuster into the Gremlin's arm, severing it. He shield bashed the other arm, making it drop the hammer. Putting both weapons in front of him, he dashed straight into it for a hundred or so feet. Except, you know, it was still ali-

Screw this.

If Alec couldn't beat it, he might as well disable it. Avoiding the creature's Voidified (TM) claws, he brought his Acheron down onto its legs, slicing them off. With a twirl of his Combuster, he sliced the remaining limb. Alec then proceeded to calmly stab it several times his Acheron. Still alive, it gave no indication of pain. What a jerk. Alec beheaded it with his Combuster. For a few seconds the eyes still glowed red. Then it faded.

Whistling, Alec sheathed his Combuster and looked around for Nights, who probably needed this Remedy Capsule.

Swarm's true attackers...

I see the curse on my Gran Faust and Guardian Shield go away but when I put the shield on my arm with the cut, it made me suffer pain which forced me to drop it again. I thought "Things are not going my way, I can either protect myself and can't attack or have the ability to attack but can't protect myself and my gear isn't swarm resistant." I place the sword behind me and heard the footsteps again but when I looked around, I saw another Void Dreadnaught wearing corrupted Dragon Scale Armor and Helm, 10 Void Skelly's and 4 Void Crusaders. I said "So, this is why the Gremlin's never attacked me." I pick up my shield and place it onto my back. I charge up and throw a Shivermist Buster towards the Swarm attackers and it froze them. The Dreadnaught done something clever and threw his spear and it just hit me in the leg. I look at the tip and see it was covered in Freeze and locked my leg into place. I couldn't move and tossed another Shivermist towards the Swarm and started to chop at the ice but it didn't do anything. I then heard a screech from a Black Kat who rushed towards me and said "Nights, are you OK?" I said "Who are you?" The Dreadnaught summoned another spear and tossed it towards my body but the Black Kat took the hit, got pushed back from the heavy damage and shot back some curse bullets. I look at the Black Kat in his condition and remember when I helped him... The Kat said "You helped me before and I notice you don't have a pet so I will be your pet." The Void army unfroze and started to move towards me and I was unable to move. I said "That... that was when I was a weak guardian who was better at rescuing knights then healing but I tried my best." I thought "I am not going to survive this." The Black Kat said "Let's turn the tables and all the void army seems to be targeting you. Even if they take damage or get insulted, they will ignore it until they have killed you Nights. Also, I can only summon 1 carnavon every 30 seconds." The Kat summoned a Carnavon to deal with the Void Skelly's...

Luna woke suddenly. ...VOG!

Luna woke suddenly.

...VOG! When had she fallen asleep? She was going to go back out to fight, but before that-

A sharp pain assailed her stomach, reminding her that she hadn't eaten in quite a while. No time for that now... but... something had woken her up. What was it?

On the small box that served as a table, her comlink let out a steady crackling. Her attention drawn to it, it came to her that she had turned it off in the morning. Someone must have sent a message through it, just enough to start its incredibly annoying static. Which was why she was awake now (she should never have been otherwise, she told herself sharply) and why she could don her armour, snatch up her weapons and dash out of her tent in a heroic pose, a sleepy Athena at her shoulder.

Which way... ah, yes. She swung around and jogged off in the direction she could hear loud noises coming from, hopefully the direction of the battlefield.

As she drew closer, she was able to make out figures, and she had been right. The scene in front of her did look a little like a battle.

One knight embedded a clip in a Mortafire, and held his hand out to another, who appeared to be a tech. The tech nodded, and hefted an odd-looking gun. He handed something to the knight, and saluted.

Another knight - a Guardian! - fought until she dropped her sword and shield. (Luna noticed that the sword was a Gran Faust; she must have been cursed.)

With a shock, Luna realized that a number of the enemies past the barrier were Void monsters.

What on Cradle was the Swarm doing here?

---

As she stared, the knight dashed off (a Striker - of course), inviting the tech to follow. He ran up against a few Void Thwackers, and while he appeared to have a little trouble, he dispatched them quickly. He then eyed the battlefield, presumably looking for someone.

That brought her attention back to the Guardian, on whom a number of Void enemies were marching. A Void Deadnaught froze the Guardian, who was frantically throwing bombs at the monsters. A Black Kat flew to her, spoke with her and summoned a Carnavon.

Oh come on, Luna, don't just stand there!

Feeling rather nervous at the sheer number of enemies, she leapt over the barrier and charged into the fray, in the direction of the Guardian who looked as if she could use some assistance.

{Annnd there it is, for what it's worth. I'll use these brackets for OOC. :3}

Lalala.

What. Nights. Again. For the. Are you.

Fate really has some mental issues, doesn't she? Glaedr replied.

As Alec watched from the clifftop he had reached, he saw several Swarm creatures, including a Deadnaught and Almirian Crusaders attack. Fan-trucking-tastic.

We should probably help her. Alec prepared to jump off.

No! We are not leaping off this cliff to our deaths! Alec turned around and raised a quizzical eyebrow at Glaedr.

I mean, we're leaping off that cliff to our deaths. It's slightly closer to the ground.

Alec, in a dramatic fashion that would make a bard weep, dashed onto the adjacent cliff, then dashed straight into the air, freefalling for a second.

I can see why skydivers like this so much Alec thought as he landed on a Crusader, impaling it on his blade. It faded, and Alec backflipped over the weapons left behind next to Nights, panting. Sweat glistened on his forehead.

It's overly dramatic and strenuous, but it's worth it.

Indeed it was. For a second the Void creatures looked at Alec with an expression that meant: Seriously dude? Seriously?

Sure, a second later they charged, but it bought him enough time to slip Nights a Remedy Capsule. It also bought Glaedr enough time to cover the perimeter.

"I would suggest using your Guardian Shield." Alec commented as the quills began to flash. He pulled out his Grey Owlite Shield, a hemisphere of blue soothing light enveloping them all. Hey, was that a Black Kat, and some Carnavons? Whatever. He'll ask later.

Just a nap.

Adam woke up. Can't sleep today... He looked at the time. Forty-five minutes. That was a nice nap.

His attention turned to his shoulder. It was healed and usable, save for a massive scar. That's not leaving, is it... Adam frowned.

Adam re-equipped his belongings, and walked towards the barricade. Sounds of battle were still going throughout the camp. Guess no one's sleeping here...

He unsheathed the twin blades placed in his Aegis. Hardly anyone used these, as their Leviathans "were more effective". Adam hated people that judged things immediately. That wasn't saying that he did not judge.

Over the barricade, and into the battlefield, Adam spotted that old geezer and Nights again. Really? Hmm... He spotted a technician carrying a somewhat-makeshift-looking weapon, and another knight heading towards them, sporting... Trooper equipment! Lovely. They seemed to be fighting more Void creatures.

This looks fun... Adam ran in with his twin blades and his shield on back.

OOC: "It's just a flesh wound!" Can't believe you didn't reference to that.

Fire all guns.

Vincent rushed into the covering fire of the Knights stationed in the Hill Garrison, taking pot shots with Proto weapons and Blackhawkes they had been using against the regular gremlins earlier on. Vincent unholstered his bags, and began to hand out basic health capsules to the Knights who were laying up against a dead tree, obviously wounded. However not really being much of a Medic, he left the other healing supplies with a Guardian who had been caring for them previously, and started to prepare the heavy support.

"Knight, help me with loading this bad-boy up, would you?"

Vincent called one of the young defenders to help him fix the gun onto a section of the barricades overlooking the ensuing battle. Looking over while applying some fixtures, he spotted a Guardian & a Black Kat fighting ferviously against the swarm, with Alec providing him aid. With a spur of determination, he grabbed ahold of both handles, lightly tapping the triggering mechanism.

"Hey, could you feed the ammo in to this thing? It's going to get loud and shakey, but oh will it make the beautiful music of Piercing Rounds slaying monsters".

The Defender started to place the Belt of Wolver rounds into the gun, and close the covering hatch. As Vincent looked down the sights, he aimed the gun at a hoarde vastly approaching the 2 brave souls taking on the swarm. He breathed in deeply, before breathing out and pulling the trigger lightly as he did so. Vincent ushered a few words under his breath as the Large gun was rattling and spewing out empty cartridges.

"Go back to whence you came, you ugly mother f-" The noise intensified, cutting off anything audible, as the gun rained down a hail of piercing bullets.

Enter Fatia Y. Floga.

[Top Floor, Haven City. Prison of the Spiral Order]

Sitting in a black room, only a small amount light breaching into the small ten by ten cell. The woman inside, dressed in a full body fire suite, sat looking at a flip top Litter. Slowly she sat there flicking it open and closed, open and closed. Walking by a Doctor and Guard stopped and opened the slid on the door. "THey want her out there now? She is a ticking time bomb...But then again I don't make the rules." The Doctor said as he looked at a note book with all her current information. After a moment the door Opened and two guards walked in going to either side of woman picking her up off the ground as she seemed to just sink into the space between them with no resistince. She was still flicking the liter open and closed, open and closed. "Ms. Floga. How are you feeling today?" No responce came, just the sound of the Litter no longer being flicked open and closed. "Ah, well I see. Can you look at me?" She did nothing but be a limp body in the hands of the Guards, her head facing down. "Come now, no need to be sad. We are letting you out today. Doesn't that sound fun?" Looking up the woman, who was missing her helm at this point because the guards took it off, looked up showing her face. It was normal, nothing really majorly wrong save for her left eye. It was solid white with burn scar all around it from when she was young, her right eye was red like normal. However she did not say anything but tilted her head slightly looking at the Doctor. "It turns out you got a free pass out of here. Don't you want to go see your parents and friends?" With that said the woman let her head hang once more, not a word said.

Looking up at the guards holding her aloft the Doctor stepped back as the sound of the litter being opened and closed picked up again. Placing the helm of her suite back onto her head they sealed her back into the suite and slowly walked the Firebug out of the Medical Prison to Haven. It was a good ten to twenty minute walk. Once there they reached the center of the Haven they sat her down and gave the woman her weapons. Four standered Fire Bombs, One Rocket Hammer based of Warmaster Seerus', and one modifed home made Flamethrower. The weapon she favored was the Flamethrower as she picked it up and looked it over, since it was a based of Grimlin Flamethrower only more condenced with a tank on the underside holding around three hundred flame units as well as the one she had on her back attacked to her belt giving an extra two-hundred. Onces she had everything placed away the Firebug stood up and started to wonder around to the elevators where she wanted to go down. Wordless she moved around waiting for some orders or something to do. As she walked, she did not realize her Communcations device was turned on thus all she heard was static and it was starting to make her mad.

((Will wait here for some orders or something that effects #123, she tends to just wander around with out orders looking for something to burn.))

Alec covered his ears as the gun shredded ranks of Void creatures. It wouldn't last for long, though. He fired a few Valiance shots at the enemies. The Deadnaught, having not very good ears, charged. Alec barely cleared it. The cacophony was deafening. A Skelly lunged at hi-

To the rescue!... Sorta.

The old Striker had apparently sent out a distress signal just as Adam had made it to where they were fighting. Convenient. The mechanic's weapon appeared to be making an incredibly loud noise, as it tore up most of the Void Skeletons. That left only a few more skeletons, plus Void Crusaders and another Void Dreadnaught. Hmm.

Adam attacked the back of a skeleton that had jumped at the Striker. The man did as well from his side. The skeleton blocked both attacks, then lunged at Adam.

Adam barely managed to keep up with the flurry of swipes from the skeleton. The old man was attacking too, and yet the one skeleton managed to block all of them.

"Three o' clock!" the man shouted. They both stepped back as the Dreadnaught attempted to charge into them, but instead bowled over the skeleton. Huh...

"Hey, you can take out the big guy, right?" Adam asked.

The Striker rushed off. He was definitely doing something. Adam looked over to Nights, and the Black Kat with a slowly increasing number of Carnavons beside it. Strange...

He then looked over to the other Trooper. A female with quite an elaborate costume. Guess I'll try fighting by myself... Or not? Hmm.

Back into reality, Adam decided to just fight. He took up two Void Crusaders. They bowed, and Adam did as well. Interesting. Some of the infected creatures did keep their habits. The Crusaders readied their spears and shields.

Adam changed his weaponry. He put away his two short swords, and held his long sword. He kept the shield on his back. He adjusted his stance. A normal battle stance for a longsword, but with his eyes looking towards the ground. Adam focused. He was not going to strike first.

They both charged at the same moment, their calm faces shifting into pure anger. Adam blocked both attacks with his shield, and spun around to counter-attack.

One blocked, one counter-attacked.

Adam changed his footing and faced away again.

The Swarm had seen this person before. Its Crusaders readied for a spinning kick from Adam.

Adam punched the value on his wrist. Turning around, he grabbed his shield as it bounced off the two Crusaders, unsheathed the short swords, and killed both Crusaders as they recovered.

Two down, one-two-three-four-five-six... Ugh...

Adam picked up his equipment, and attempted to assist someone else in their fight.

OOC: Am I fighting too much? I feel like I'll burn out soon.

So much pain...

I look and see the advancing army until Alec jumped on 1 of the crusaders head and killed it. I then see another knight coming, probably to help and then Alec gave me a remedy pill and said "I would suggest using your Guardian Shield." I put away my Shivermist Buster and put my Guardian Shield on my other hand. I pulled the shield up just as someone was making tons of noise and the Dreadnaught took advantage of this and charged at us barely missing me and Alec. The Black Kat said "Don't worry, I can tell if they are rushing towards you, I can help protect you." I see a Void Skelly dying from the direction of the loud noise and to make matters worse, that machine broke through the ice but it also shot through me. I felt so much pain and it also prevented me from walking. I couldn't take any more bandage out since the first bandage around my ribs would fall off. The Black Kat got shocked and said "When I see that Jerk who shot you, they are going to get hurt back." The Black Kat shot 3 curse bullets in the direction of the bullets. Another knight came in to help with the fight and it was Adam. I saw Adam dealing with more Void Skelly's and even some Void Crusaders. The Void Dreadnaught noticed my weakness and started to charge at me. The Black Kat said in a loud tone "CARNAVON'S, PROTECT NIGHTS!" The 6 carnavons that the Black Kat summoned created a wall and they all started to spew their curse breath at the Void Dreadnaught. The Void Dreadnaught started to suffer pain when he got cursed but killed all the Carnavons in the make-shift wall. The Dreadnaught walked back, re-charged at me again even though he was still suffering pain. As he was getting closer, the Dreadnaught threw his spear towards Adam. When the Dreadnaught hit me, my shield was still up but it was breaking fast and the Black Kat sneaked behind the Dreadnaught and bit him. The Dreadnaught took damage but didn't care until he knocked me away with his shield. I tried to move but my shot leg didn't help and the bandage around my ribs fell off too. I see the Black Kat constantly biting the Dreadnaught and summoning Carnavons to do the same and spew curse on him. I look for the remedy pill I was given but it was nearby the Dreadnaught who then crushed it. The Dreadnaught fell onto the floor with low HP but a sword could hit it now. I then see the remaining Void Crusader rushing towards me. I quickly changed to my Shivermist and threw just enough so I didn't get frozen. I started to limp away in severe pain and dropped a Dark Briar Barrage for the oncoming Void Crusader...

((OOC: Current situation is: 1 cut arm: can't use that arm for weapons or shield. 1 shot leg: Much harder to walk, can't run and most of the time is limping. Lastly, hole in ribs: Any enemies that deal Status conditions will target that area since it is cut open. Also, the arm is the only bit bandaged...))

{...so this is what happens while I'm sleeping? o.0}

Luna saw the two reach the top of a cliff, and the tech soon had his odd contraption firing death into the bad guys' ranks. The Striker raced to an adjoining cliff and leapt off, landing sword-first in a Crusader. He attempted to slip the thing in his hand to the Guardian upon reaching her; but it fell to the ground. Then he dashed off, and began to attack the Void monsters in the area.

Luna noticed another knight in the fray, who, she noted, had just given her a somewhat disparaging glance. As he turned to her again, she shot a look back that said Well, you're a trooper, too.

She turned to look at the Guardian; the Deadnaught had crushed the object on the ground, which, Luna realized, was a remedy pill. The Deadnaught had been severely weakened, but a Crusader charged at the Guardian who dropped a Dark Briar Barrage and limped away.

At the speed the Crusader was going, it would miss the bomb! Luna raced in its direction and fired a few shots at it, most hitting, and it swung around, just in time -shlunk!- to get a back-full of spikes.

Deciding that the others could easily finish it off, she went for the Deadnaught.

Meanwhile, not so far away...

OOC: Hava, the new Biotech, is in the first portion of the post.

Hava picked up a device that was too complicated to describe and marked a few notes on his E-Pad. The Void Bunny was hissing with resentment. It clearly did not like being in a cage all day. Hava glanced at his readings again, eyebrow arched. That shouldn't be right...

Hava immediately took the cage and Bunny and put it in front of a much more powerful version of the device. Same readings. Oh Vog. The Swarm was about to finish off Tier 3. It only needed to corrupt one more thing. Emberlight.

"NO!" Hava leapt out of the lab and straight into Ozlo's HQ, midst protests from a dozen secretaries. He dashed into the captain's cubicle, panting.

"Well. If Hava the practical is scared out of his wits, something terrible MUST have occurred."

"The Swarm...attacking Emberlight...7 hours to prepare. Dozens of Trojans and Deadnaughts. You have to...have to evacuate."

Ozlo stiffened. "I can't send anyone down there. The elevators are haywire. It would be suicide." He pulled out a tablet-like device, and opened an application.

"Yes...There is still one team of people down there. They'll have the best chance to get back to Emberlight in time. They're escorting that Biotech. Olivia I think." Sighing, Ozlo opened up a channel with them.
_____

(Meanwhile)

"Quite a merry band here, I see," Alec noted as yet another person dramatically revealed himself. "Don't mind the help that much, though." The two cleaved through Skelly's and the like, splitting up. Alec went after the Deadnaught. It was busy attacking Nights. What the heck was up with that? Everything was trying to kill this Guardian tonight. Next thing you know, the chef'll stick an ice cleaver in her. He stuck his blade into the Deadnaught, causing it to whip around. Just on time.

Boom. The Deadnaught whirled around. Slash. Turn. Boom. Turn. Slash. Turn. Boom. Turn.

This is kind of boring, don't you think?

Hey, we're still alive. I'm not complaining.

Eventually, the Deadnaught got cheesed off and charged Glaedr, not caring that Alec was beating the tar out of it. Glaedr cloaked, his form vanishing from sight. The Deadnaught paused, confused, then charged Ale-

Boom. It faded away, revealing yet another knight, who had dramatically revealed herself. Alec took his sword and trotted over to Nights, who was slumped on the ground, face contorted in grotesque expressions. A nearby crushed capsule informed him of her current situation. Casually, he stood guard, and talked to the Kat.

"Oh look, at Black Kat! Not hostile, either. What's your name?" Alec rummaged around, and found a 3* material which he handed to the Kat.

The Striker got to the Deadnaught first, and he and his Maskeraith double-teamed it, until it charged the Maskeraith, who quickly cloaked. It wheeled to charge the Striker, and Luna took the chance to embed two Iron Slug bullets in its back. It crumpled to the ground.

The Striker made for the Guardian, and Luna turned to enter the main conflict.

Crusader's surprise attack

I see someone distracting the Void Crusader which resulted in the bomb hitting him. I see the Void Crusader running away and when I looked, I saw the Void Dreadnaught crumbling. Alec started to walk towards me and started to talk to the Black Kat "Oh look, a Black Kat! Not hostile, either. What's your name?" *Alec gives The Black Kat a 3 star Material* The Black Kat said "Hello Striker, my name is Elite Mew and I am the last remaining Black Kat alive. I am here because The Swarm has created a Top 10 list of Knights they want killed and here's the list." *Elite Mew gives Alec The Swarm's Wanted list* "If you look at it, 3 knights here are on the list, you, Astran and Nights who is Number 1 on the list which is why The Swarm is after Nights. Also, I owe Nights a favor since she saved me from another knight with a customized poison weapon. Granted, she wasn't a good healer but she did save me and even gave me a sleep vial to remove the poison. When I woke up, I was in better condition and I saw Nights asking if I was OK. Anyways, after Nights healed me, I delved deeper until I saw The Swarm and a piece of Paper blew into my face which is what I gave to you. I looked at it but it didn't seem to be much but it changes automatically. Today, I noticed the swarm list change and saw Nights as number 1 and needed to find her and protect her. I came just in time to help Nights and this is where we are now. I am going to be Nights pet like you have a Maskeraith as a pet." *Elite Mew eats the 3* Material* I look around and see another knight coming but when I turned around, I saw the Void Crusader from before charging at me. I charged pull out the Shivermist and charged it up. I tried to throw it backwards but it failed and landed a little bit behind me but it should just stop the Void Crusader from hurting me...

Suddenly, Luna heard something; upon turning to see, she found the Crusader from earlier charging at the Guardian! Vogit, why had no one taken care of it?

The Guardian threw a Shivermist Buster behind her, which just caught the Crusader's legs, causing its upper half to lose balance and double over. Luna rushed back, skidded to a stop and emptied a round of Supernova bullets into its back.

"There, that should shut you up...." Luna muttered under her breath.. Wait, did it make any noise? I'm not sure. I just hope no one heard me... uh...

Relieved to be wearing her helm, she turned once more and set off.

Ruh-Roh.

The gun blazed bullets, until it started to tucker and rattle more and more. Vincent lifted his goggles with one hand, then turned down to the Knight loading the belt ammo into the gun, who now had stopped to wonder why the gun wasn't eating it. Vincent shouted at the top of his lungs, still being deafend by the noise of its firing.

"IT'S OVERHEATING! TELL ME ANY HIGH PRIORITY TARGETS TO TAKE DOWN WHEN ITS GOOD TO GO AGAIN...".

The Knights nodded, his hands shaking from the constant vibrations of the ammo-belt being fed into the death dealing machine. He looked over the barricades, and noticed a fairly wounded Crusader, a crumbling Dreadnaught, and a host more Skeletons and Infected Gremlins moving in. Looking back to Vincent, he gave a shake of his head.

"ALRIGH-*cough* Alright. The Gun's cooled down, and's ready to go again. Whats the situation around camp?"

Vincent looked over the front of his gun, and saw a good number of Void Skeletons drudging themselves up the hill. The Gun's heavy chorus had drawn their attention, and it wasn't suprising. If shouting had drawn their attention in the 1st place like a dinner bell, this would surely have been like a Claxon. Cursing the swarm's attraction to loud noises, he dismounted from the gun, and told the Knight aiding him to move it to the sloped entrance into the garrison.

"Help me reposition this, before those swarm creeps make it up the hill. We have to hold this point".

With all the muscle and servos they could muster, they dragged the Large gun to the entrance point. Resting it against some barricades to the left, Vincent took up position once more. Noticing just over half the ammunition was used up, he had to fire in bursts to improve accuracy. He pulled down his goggles once more, and gave the Knight the signal to start feeding in ammunition. The Gun stuttered back into life and began to once more gun down the slow advance of Swarm.

Disasters keep coming

I try to stand up but it wasn't working well. Elite Mew came towards me and helped me stand up and said "Nights, you need to get back to the base, your condition is critical and the swarm is still here." I said "Something is in the distance, we should check it." Elite Mew said "It looks like the edge of this floor but the light is odd as well." I start limping closer towards the light with Elite Mew being a supporter to keep my balance. When we reached the light, I noticed the edge and stopped limping. I look down to see where the light was coming from but I can't see anything where the light could be coming from. I then hear a rocket charging up and said "Elite Mew, watch out." Elite Mew dodged the unknown foe but a lack of balance made me fall off the edge but I had my Gran Faust out and slammed it into the metal floor and said "Why is everything that could be going wrong going wrong..." I am hanging on by a sword and then hear a mysterious voice that I never heard before "Get out of here Black Kat, Nights will be caught by the Gremlins and will be used as bait for the swarm. I will kill you first though and then tempt the Number 1 bait for the swarm even though she is Number 1 on our list as well." A bomb explodes and I see dark orbs spinning and thought "Warmaster Seerus? It can't be..." Another hammer charge made me lose some grip on my Gran Faust and thought "Anymore of this and I will fall, most likely to my death but, I don't get this light..."

Luna was just about to get into the fight when...

Not again! The Guardian was hanging on to the level by her sword, and a large gremlin (Warmaster Seerus?!) was attacking her.

Luna charged off in her direction, firing her Supernova to get the gremlin out of her way. She knelt at the edge, and extended her right hand to the Guardian, still firing at the gremlin with her left.

"Here, grab on!"

She's hanging off a cliff by her sword. Great. Is that a Warmaster? Can't be much tougher than Seerus was.

The female Trooper had jumped in with a Pulsar-type weapon, and knelt to pull Nights up. Adam assisted in the gun-fire. The Gremlin's eyes glowed red.

Swarm? Adam immediately changed his battle plan. It was planning to do something. The Gremlin dashed to the side, and threw out at least five of the bombs Seerus used during the raid on his Grand Arsenal. Adam managed to shoot two bombs heading towards the women out of the air, and he knocked one away with his shield as it fell towards him.

When Adam looked back towards the Warmaster, his heart sunk when he saw no Gremlin there. He heard a sound similar to a striker dash to his left, and shielded just in time to block the Warmaster's attack with... two Rocket Hammers?

The Swarm was incredible. It circled Adam by alternating the Rocket dashes before knocking back Adam several feet when it lined both hammers up to attack with both at once. It had even hit the others and that Kat before Adam noticed.

Shield on back, long sword and short sword.

The Gremlin repeated what it had done before. Adam blocked the hammers with his Leviathan, and attempted a stab at the Gremlin's side with his short sword. The Gremlin dashed backwards before the sword could make contact, and it charged in again.

Adam fell onto his stomach to dodge, and punched the valve. The shield knocked both hammers out of the Warmaster's hands. Adam slashed at it's legs.

The Gremlin backflipped and materialized two more hammers. I'm not beating him alone...

Adam looked over towards the Trooper with the Pulsar. He shot a look saying can you do something?

Losing grip and more pain...

I kept hanging on and heard the sound of a Supernova shot at the Gremlin. A knight puts there hand out and said "Here, grab on!" I tried to grab on but my cut arm made it impossible to grab on. I then hear Elite Mew screeching from a hammer blow. I said to the knight "I can't grab on, my arm is cut which is making it impossible to grab on." I then hear the hammer charging up and it slammed into my Gran Faust which made me lose even more grip. I struggled to hang on and looked down to see some Silversaps on the level below but they were a long distance away. My hand around the blade started to get hurt and I saw a dark orb spinning around. I thought "So, I am really injured, the swarm is after me, Warmaster Seerus is after me, Elite Mew might die..." The bandage around my cut arm fell off because I wasn't good at wrapping bandages. The cuts I had started to bleed again and my eyesight started to go blurry...

Yelling aloud.

Sitting down in the middle of the empty spot in the Arcade of Haven, next to the elevators and Material deposits. Fatia pulled out her litter and started flicking open and closed, open and closed. Unaware of anything that was going on outside of her little world as she only looked at the flicking litter. Of course it was her own mind that was her own worst enemy as it was giving her ideas of what to do. As soon as she had gotten the nerve to set something on fire the com. device went off rather loud in her ear as was not prepared for it. Started she looked around trying to find who was messing with her but no one was, after that she reached up to her head and screamed aloud. "Get out of my head!" And started running in circles trying to get the noise to stop.

After what felt like an eturnity the sound finally stopped, but the damage was done and Fatia was already running threw the Arcade hitting people with her arms that were trying to cover her ears. As she ran around one of the Knights tried to help her only to be met with a head on colision with her. It was a sad display but she could not help her self as it startled her when she was in her calm state of mind. After another good three minutes of running around, Fatia finally calmed down enough to sit back in the empty spot at the far end of the Arcade. Flicking the litter again, open and closed...opened and closed.

The Void skeletons had slowed the advance, like the Swarm were focussing their attention on a point further up the field. Letting the remaining Knights fire their Pistols, Vincent packed up his Loud Support Gun, and the limited ammunition it had left. He put away all the supports back into his larger bag, and waited for an opening to get down the hill to find out what the swarm were up to. While holding out for his chance, he started loading up the drum for his Personal, shell firing, Firearm and contemplated his thoughts to himself.

"Alright, I'll take the 60 or so rounds left and use those to pick off the swarm focussing on whatever theyre focussing on, then provide support with whatever Knights are left with some of my Proto-Chargers"...

Nodding to himself, and being given the goto from a knight by the entrance way, Vincent ran off a bit faster than he had, thanks to the decrease in available resources. He held his Shotgun infront of him, and stopped every so often to incapacitate any Void Skelly that got a little too close for comfort. As soon as they got blasted to the ground, they slowly began to arise again. Seems like the swarm was a bit more determined in its goals than it previously had been. Vincent got to the battlefield at the base of the hill, and saw a few Knights in the distance fighting of a Brute of a foe wielding what seemed to be a pair of Rocket Hammers. After a bemused silence, Vincent suddenly exclaimed,

"...Well that's not good"...

Cocking his shotgun once more, he set off toward the group, hoping to provide some more support to bring down the 'Big Boss'.

The Trooper Luna had seen earlier came to help, drawing the Warmaster's attention. Luna relaxed a little, but-

"I can't grab on, my arm is cut which is making it impossible to grab on." A random swipe from the Warmaster's sword hit the Guardian's weapon, causing her to slip further over. Vog! Luna turned to the Trooper, to suggest he keep the Warmaster away, but he was having trouble, and at that moment he shot a look at her that said Can you do something?

She paused a second, then withdrew her arm, and pulled out a Deadly Shard Bomb, holding it in both hands. She hurled it in their direction, its sharp top piercing the air as it landed right next to the Warmaster. In a moment it would create a decent enough minefield to cause the Warmaster trouble. Luna gave him a glance that said Better get out of there.

Turning, she leaned further over the edge, and grabbed hold of the Guardian's body with both hands, in an attempt (that would hopefully be successful) to pull her up, since the Guardian could not do so for herself.

Seerus attacks!

Seerus's eyes gleamed as he smashed both hammers rapidly and repeatedly onto the ground, creating the blast network like effect that effectively cut Nights and that other girl off from the rest of the group. Or at least that's what the Void Gremlin thought. Alec appeared right next to the man (who seemed rather capable at combat) , and analyzed the situation. Not looking good.

Boom. The Warmaster easily backflipped over Glaedr's quills and slammed his hammer at the sprite, causing the Maskeraith to retreat.

"All right," Alec muttered to the male. "Hold on tight. I've got a plan to get us past these ridiculously overpowered explosions." He suddenly dashed into him, knocking the man over the explosions towards Seerus. A nanosecond later, Alec followed, slashing at Seerus. The Gremlin leapt back, and Alec pulled the man to his feet, holding his Acheron in front of him, his Combuster at his side.

"Get ready," Alec mumbled. "On three, I charge, you help rescue the Guardian."

"1, 2, 3!" Alec didn't bother checking if the man was running towards Nights, he was busy dealing a low undercut at Seerus, who parried with a hammer. He stabbed with his other hand, lightning fast, and the blade slid past his other hammer into the Gremlin. Unfortunately, Seerus was still alive, and cheesed off. The Gremlin dashed into Alec's shield, pushing him back a dozen feet.

Fudge. This isn't going well.

Alec opened up his comlink and opened a channel to a random Biotech. He couldn't survive against a skilled opponent he barely knew about.
_____

Hava suddenly got a call on his comlink. He scooted out of Ozlo's HQ, and answered. "Hello?"

"I need you to analyze Swarm figh- fudge! Glaedr look out! I need you to analyze Swarm fighting habits. Right now. Seerus has been corrupte- By Vog! How the heck do you dash with both hammers?"

"Analyze duels with Swarm fighting habits. On it."

Hava and Stug burst into the Lab, opening up applications and programs in the blink of an eye. Stug analyzed a dozen prerecorded one-on-one Swarm fight scenarios at once, while Hava linked up to the caller's camera to analyze Seerus's moves in comparison. Sweat trickled down his forehead as on his computer, an alert showed the knights in Tier 2 slowly being pushed back, casualties soaring. The Swarm, by comparison, was taking over more and more Gremlins. It had a nearly infinite supply. On the camera of the Striker, he saw Seerus smash his hammer repeatedly into the Striker's shield, nearly propelling him off the cliff.

Damn it. I need to quicken my pace.

"Aha!" In 25 out of 27 single duels with Swarm creatures, the Void entities had enormous strength (the other two were Dust Bunnies). This led their blows to be able to dent the strongest shields with ease, but maybe...

Hava opened a channel towards the knight. Alec Prelude. Huh. He heard that name before.

"Alrighty," Hava said. "Here's the only way you'll survive a duel with Seerus. He has strength that can't be matched, and endurance that only blows his strength can beat, so you have to..."
_____

"Use his momentum against him. Since knights have never done that before, it should be fairly easy to do so." Alec, profusely sweating from physical exertion, gazed at his opponent, who was not a bit fatigued, despite having been kicked, stabbed, and bashed repeatedly. He yelled at the others,

"Make him hurt himself! Use his momentum against him! It's the only" *pant* "Only way to defeat him."

Seerus dashed with both hammers, intending to crush Alec's face like a pancake. Alec slowly stepped aside one inch. As Seerus rushed past him, he dash-kicked the Warmaster in the back. Hard. Seerus was sent flying much farther than he intended and crashed straight through a boulder face first. That can't be good for his dental. Glaedr launched a shower of quills into him, but waited to detonate them. As soon as Seerus lunged again, the Maskeraith detonated them, sending him flying into a cliff wall. Ooch. Seerus backflipped and landed facing the merry band of six (himself, Glaedr, Elite Mew, and the two people he didn't know.)

Alec couldn't keep this up for long, though. Soon The Swarm would adapt. He had to eliminate the Gremlin before it could, regardless of whether or not it took his own life. When Seerus missed again, Alec dealt him a stunning kick that nearly sent him off the cliff edge. But the Warmaster drove his hammers into the ground, stopping him from propelling off into thin air. He tossed them at Alec, then materialized two new ones in his hands. He lunged again.

The Striker, also, had come to help. Seerus had cut them off from the Trooper, but the Striker got him over. The Striker then engaged Seerus, and fought while apparently in conversation with someone else.

After the conversation, the Striker yelled "Make him hurt himself! Use his momentum against him! It's the only-" he gasped for breath "-only way to defeat him." The Striker proceeded to put this plan into action, and there were some funny scenes.

But all too soon, the tide began to turn, and the Warmaster was lunging at the Striker. Panicking, Luna kept one arm around the Guardian, and pulled out a Valiance for a few well-aimed shots at the Warmaster.

Suddenly, Luna could feel a difference in the air. She felt a little dizzy, and shook her head to clear it - but nothing changed.

Come on, come on!

She tugged at the Guardian, trying not to stay panicky as that was not a good idea.

Dangerous Air

The knight from before withdrew her hand to do something and from what I heard, it was a Deadly Shard Bomb. The knight was away for a little bit and came back and put 2 hands on my body to try and pull me up. She then wrapped 1 arm around me which made me lose some momentum. I started to get up and put my leg that wasn't shot onto the platform and was safely back on the platform. I said to the knight "Thanks for... saving me..." I see Elite Mew weakened but he noticed me and flew over tons of bomb shards and it was high enough not to set them off. I started to feel sick and I saw Seerus who seemed to be corrupted. I couldn't even stand up until 2 carnavons that Elite Mew summoned to help me up. The carnavons then collapsed for some reason. Elite Mew said "We need to hurry back to Base, the air is becoming dangerous in this battlefield and weapons are starting to suffer. I try and pull out my Gran Faust and I was able to but it hurt me even more. I look at the hand which I used to hang on and see it was bleeding a lot... I pull out my Shivermist Buster and toss it towards the knights fighting Swarm Seerus and hoped this would damage him. I was then sick and I sicked up blood... Elite Mew said "We need to go but this Minefield is going to mess us up. Knight, do you have a shield which would survive all these explosions? We really need to go though." I see Swarm Seerus throwing a Dark Retribution towards us...

Fudging ow...

Alec stumbled back, dizziness taking over. Seerus smashed his hammers onto Alec's shield again, sending the Striker stumbling back. He took advantage to toss some bombs at Nights.

What the...

Glaedr looked around. Everyone else is affected too! You have to get out of here, Alec!

Alec shook his head and slapped himself. Hard. The fatigue faded, but Alec could feel it still at the corners of his mind.

If I retreat, Seerus will communicate my fighting tactics to The Swarm. It's the most valuable information we have. We can't let that happen. I'm taking him out, one way or another.

Alec woozily sidestepped Seerus and punched him, but his blow had little effect. The Warmaster slammed his hammers into Alec's stomach, sending him flying back 30 or so feet. Alec groaned as he climbed to his feet. His ribs ached like Vog. Gosh, he didn't know if he was going to survive...

Meanwhile, Glaedr shot all the quills he had remaining into Seerus, before getting smashed onto the ground. Seerus's eyes gleamed with victory, and he prepared to bring both hammers onto the Maskeraith. Alec's woozy mind solidified for just one second into pure, unadulterated rage. No one touches his Sprite. Using the last bit of Dash boost he had left, he slammed into the Gremlin at over 70 mph, sending both of them over the cliff. His elbow screamed in pain, and he used every last reserve of his mental energy to not lose consciousness. He repeatedly stabbed the Warmaster with his Acheron (still having a negligible effect), who was unable to bring his hammers into Alec while being grappled.

NOO! Glaedr swooped in to rescue Alec. Seerus threw a hammer at him, the Sprite barely clearing it.

Glaedr, go away! GO! The Sprite, reluctantly realizing he couldn't do anything, flew to the ground, intending to find a paramedic.

As the two began to near the ground, Alec grabbed Seerus's face and shoved it in front on him, intending for the Warmaster to take the direct hit. Maybe he could still survive if the Gremlin lived long enough to not dissolve before absorbing Alec's momentum. Maybe he could...his mind blanked from the strange effect that was spreading across both sides. He struggled to remain coherent. Seerus scratched Alec's face. Alec slammed his fist into the Warmaster until said Warmaster's eyes glazed over. His mind. Fuzzy. Hard to. Think.

They hit. Ground. Hard. No, soft. Soft like pillow. Furry man gone. He hurt. Ground soft. So soft...

Meanwhile, Glaedr was frantically searching for a friggin paramedic or someone else.

The shotgun guy! He was the Tech!

He frantically appeared in front on the Tech's face, sending a message telepathically:

Alec! Hurt! Badly! Hurry up!

He whizzed towards the cliff.

Hurrying toward the conflict,

Hurrying toward the conflict, Vincent sees the now apparent WarMaster being shoved off the cliff, going down with that experienced Knight, Alec. Pushing himself to try and get over there for any hope that he could help someone, he dropped the larger bag with the Support Gun inside, and pressed on at a faster rate. Nearing the scene, a ghostly sprite appeared in front of him, looking very distressed.

//Alec! Hurt! Badly! Hurry up!//

Vincent's eyes blinked as he recieved the message through his mind. Not knowing how to reply back through his consicousness, he just nodded that he understood, and proceeded to follow the sprite toward the cliff. Upon reaching the point where both had fallen, Vincent carefully peered over the edge to see only Alec. Not really caring where the other had vanished, he looked around for a way to get down.

No Rope. No Visible Elevators, but a Gremlin Command Post. It may be full of Swarm, or Gremlins, and he wasnt by any means a soldier, but it may just have a way to get down to the next floor without needing to freefall without a parachute. Dreading that this may be the only way to get down, he turned to the sprite still looking quite stressed.

"Mr Sprite...Guy. We need to get down there, and I think that the Gremlin command building over there may have an emergency elevator or something so we can reach Alec. I can combine these Proto Charges into enough power that may act as a Reviving Spark, but its a risk. Got any ideas on how to get me in there and down to the next level without being killed by any swarm or Gremlins we may face?".

Hmm...

Glaedr responded immediately, eyes flashing with anger at The Swarm.

If you give the Spark and tell me how to use it, I think might be able to revive Alec. Name's Glaedr.

Or, I could levitate you down. I think I can get you down there, but I might have trouble getting you back up.

A third solution could be to toss the Spark down and hope he's conscious. I don't advise this one.

Glaedr flew down and nudged Alec.

"Soft...pillow...five more minutes..." Alec was really beat up.

Glaedr whizzed back up.

He's still conscious, but - WAIT! I forgot! There's some sort of energy field that's dazing everyone here! It's why Alec charged Seerus off the cliff. If you don't hurry, you'll get affected too! He flew back and forth frantically.

The Black Kat asked Luna, "Knight, do you have a shield which would survive all these explosions? We really need to get through."

Just then, a Dark Retribution flew at them, and Luna whipped out her Iron Slug and blasted it to bits. One metal shard struck her shoulder. ("Ouch.") She turned back to the Kat and said, holding up her shield,

"This is the best I have - take it. There's something I need to do." She handed her small shield to the Kat and made off in the direction of the cliff over which the Striker had gone with Seerus.

But she realized that someone else was already on it, so she stopped midway and turned back....

And the sky became the earth and everything was weird.

Just great.

{Since I (yawn) has to go, better get my character out of the way for now :P}

Could things be worse?

The knight nearby destroyed the bomb and gave Elite Mew her shield which looked customized. Elite Mew summoned another Carnavon but gave it a vile seal to block the air. Elite Mew said "Walk towards the explosions, the shield should protect us." The Carnavon pulled the shield up and blew up most of the shards on the ground with a few remaining but they wouldn't harm many people. The Carnavon then died because of the air and I was sicked up blood again and started to lose focus. Elite Mew said "Come on Nights, we need to make it back to the base." I try to look around and see a knight knocked out and it was the same one with the shield. Elite Mew picked up the shield with his teeth and placed it back to the knight. I started to lose balance without Elite Mew and fell over. Elite Mew said "Wow, this air is really affecting your balance." Elite Mew summoned more Carnavon's to get me up and they said "We are close to base." The Carnavon's died again and I noticed Elite Mew not suffering from the air and I said "How... how... are you... not getting... affected by... this air?" As we reach the base, I struggled to climb over it but I made it back." Elite Mew said "OK, we are back but Nights, you should rest and see about those injuries..." I start to limp through the base where all knights could see my bad condition...

Meanwhile, relatively far away...

When Hava's co-worker, Daniel, came into the Lab, he saw Hava and Stug in a full-out analyzation. Daniel carefully walked backwards away. He knew the Biotech long enough to know when to not bother him.

Stug had moved on to when The Swarm attacked as an army, analyzing formations, reaction times, and how many times they were defeated. Hava was still analyzing single or a few hand-to-hand combat scenarios. Alec's comlink had suddenly shut off, and he feared the worst for the Striker. In nearly every fight, The Swarm enemy would begin the engagement, first with an overhead smash, then leaving the weapon in the ground and attempting to pin the knight. It would materialize another weapon in its hand and try to slay its foe. Stunning attacks did not fare well with The Swarm: it barely used its brains beside breathing. Since it was incapable of feeling pain, the only way to capture one was by using elaborate systems of cages, filled with decoys of knights that The Swarm desperately wanted to corrupt. In general, the quickest way to slay a Swarm creature was with decapitation. Interestingly enough, after a few large-scale fights, knights noticed that some more valuable Void creatures, like Deadnaughts, Trojans, and Gremlin commanders, began to wear armored collars around their neck, making it that much harder to slice off their noggin. In these cases, a knight would have to keep hitting it until it died; with The Swarm's new endurance, it was rather boring and difficult.

In large-scale fights, though, it was much different. The Swarm army would spread out just enough so that bombs would only hit 3 or 4 troops at most, and had instant reaction rates. This made shock and awe tactics useless. Apparently, though, The Swarm was unable to cope with hit-and-run attacks. It would think that the running meant the knights were fleeing, and no longer pay much attention. Immediately, the knights would come back and run through the army, not pausing for a second. The attack would be over in minutes, and The Swarm would once again think that the knights were running away and no longer pursue. Apparently, The Swarm was fascinated by humans (possibly because they resisted in what the Void creatures viewed an impossible fight) and would chase any knight for the sole sake of corrupting them. This allowed experience snipers in groups with a good choke point to hold an army for hours, despite the fact that the Void critters could easily walk around them. The snipers would be able to last indefinitely if they had a Shivermist or some freeze weapon that could take care of all Swarm creatures approaching, assuming their rations were airlifted and they took turns sleeping and shooting.

There was much more information gleamed and deduced, but it was more technical (angle of attack, Newtons of force, density of Swarm armor after 5000 simulations, etc.). Hava and Stug submitted their information to Ozlo via comlink periodically, not pausing for more than a minute or two to relay information. Eventually, Hava slumped back, exhausted. His sprite, though, continued to process and send information, directly linked to the computer for faster command inputting.
_____

Ozlo chuckled as he looked at all the information gleaned by the duo. Apparently, when excited, they were brilliant. At this rate, he'd only need these two to know everything about his enemy. He glanced at his comlink, and forwarded all this information to the lieutenants. Hopefully, they would be able to utilize it in time to delay The Swarm until the Artifact was unlocked.

Do do do do do...

All of a sudden, a strange energy force seemed to envelop the knights. It seemed to be the same anomaly as the one that had affected the knights at the battleground. A few people began to stumble, and the army began to retreat. A knight groaned, fell over, and hit his head next to Fatia, bleeding and unconscious.

Questioning the moment.

Looking at the body beside Fatia tilted her head as she reached down and picked up the body not really sure what was going on. Holding the body she looked around and saw people were running from something but it did not make since to her. Still holding the knocked out mans body in her hand she dragged him along as she followed the group at full speed, as fast as one could go hulling a body or rather dragging one. But she seemed uneffected, mostly because of her suite that was Hormincally sealed to protect her from her own weapons and her self.

Once out side she turned and looked to see what was going on, but nothing clicked so she dropped the knocked out man and pulled out her favorate weapon. Flicking the lighter she turned on the Pilot light of the weapon then placed the Litter away as she walked around slowly, her mind being set as if she were in a fight. Her whole person changed from a mentally incapaistated, to a creature of war. Her movements were slow but with persion as she held the weapon in any direction she faced. Giving a roar she slowly came to the entrance of Haven seeing nothing odd as she poked around. Even with her disability she knew something felt wrong and even with the suite, what ever she was going up agiced seemed more then just a normal thing.

All of a sudden...

A Swarm Dust Bunny appeared. Probably was scouting. Seeing Fatia, it gave a cry of rage and sprang towards the pyromaniac. Behind it, a couple more Bunnies sprang out of the ground as well. All of them charging at Fatia. These, though, appeared to be much tougher than a normal Bunny. Probably since it was Swarm. A nearby Sentry spotted them and sounded an alarm; luckily, it was not a loud noise (noises scared poor Snipes). Instead, it was a neural message that basically gave the person the information of where an enemy was and how dangerous it was. Finding that his Sentenza shots simply bounced off the critters, the danger level was classified as Stratum 6.

Meanwhile, the unconscious man was found and taken to a hospital.

OOC: DUN DUN DUN!!!

I was away for a while.

Adam tried catching his breath. The Striker jumped off the edge with the Warmaster. Not like he would die from that fall though, the amazing-moviestar-hero never dies. Or loses a fight. Or anything.

That Battle Sprite is panicking over it's master, and everyone else is making their way towards the base for some reaso... Adam felt lightheaded. He fell forward, falling to one knee.

Ugh... It's hot... Adam sweated horribly. It didn't feel like "normal" temperature increase though. He managed to stand up. He saw the female Trooper unconscious. I'm doing better than someone else? Very slowly and painfully, he picked her up.

Just... have to make it... to camp...

The camp was approximately 800 yards away from Adam, an incredibly short distance. It felt like miles to him, at that one moment. He stumbled, he tripped. Reduced to mumbling, a few knights had to carry him into his tent, while a few others carried away the female Trooper, which Adam dropped onto the ground as soon as he made it into the barrier.

I hate the heat...

OOC: Yup. The heat. Yup. Adam isn't the unconscious guy in the hospital, by the way. He's special :P

Edit: What do you mean by that, Sandwich? Was Adam supposed to be the unconscious guy?

Yes Playerman. Yes you were.

OOC: This is sort of like a catch-up for the situation on unlocking The Core and Artifact.

Feron sighed and leaned against his leather chair. The recent energy wave had left him feeling inconsequential. If they couldn't resist a weak energy effect, how would they cope with The Swarm?

"Any ideas of how this...radiation like energy arrived?" The Lieutenant was being healed by a Biotech. Again.

The Technicians scanned their notes. "No, sir," one of them replied. "However, sir, we think it may be connected with The Core. And thus the Artifact."

He continued. "The energy not only weakened our troops, it also seemed to repulse The Swarm. For now, at least. It seems to be a wave, like the spread effect of a dust field spreading across the world when a meteor hits a planet. It's passed Haven, but a few Swarm creatures, agitated, have popped up in the town. As of right now, Sentries are being dispatched to eliminate the threat. It's only a few Dust Bunnies. Nothing too big."

Feron closed his eyes from fatigue. He had hauled a Guardian Knight and himself to a hospital when the radiation had begun to affect them. Not good for your muscles. They were sorer than a Vanguard after getting hit by a 2-ton rock and surviving.

"All right then," he mumbled. "How's the Artifact?"

"Not much progress besides that the energy levels are equivalent to 20000000 Crystal Energy. We had already estimated it around that before, though. It's not nearly enough to get us off this metal hellhole of a planet. Oh, and we've determined it has a certain number of...well...energy barriers, I suppose. They're like a security measure. If we trigger one, it'll blow up Haven. And maybe Cradle too.

The commander waved his hand. "Keep up the research. I want to know how to unlock it by the end of this month. The Swarm's closing in. Next."

The Technicians saluted and exited the room, replaced by a group of strategists. They began to discuss tactics on combating The Swarm; Gremlins were already well-known. Suddenly, a beeping sound on Feron's armband alerted him of a message. From Ozlo. Opening it, Feron's eyes fell upon a wealth of information. The strategists looked at the reports in surprise, and immediately altered their battle plans, fervidly discussing.. A bud of hope spread in the Lieutenant's chest. Maybe they could pull this through.

Lets watch, them Burn.

With little warning Fatia heard a sound coming from in-front of her. It was an angry noise that did not sink in, but instead she simply roared back yelling along side it. As she went into this roaring contest her hand clamped down on the level of the handle of her weapon. As this happened a jet of fire flew out in the direction she heard the noise. Black smoke bellowed from the weapon when she finished, but what was left behind made her smile and want to walk on. Fire was on everything, sticking and cooking what ever the liquid touched. Her weapon reached heats of 2,200 F on average, touching some one from a good 92 meters away. However, right now everything was warm and to her eyes a glow. It did not bug her as much when she saw what she was fighting. In fact she pointed the barel of the Flamethower unit at the Bunny's and with a small laugh she started setting the ceatures ablaze. Creammating the creatures before they could really do anything to protect themselfs. However, they seemed to ignore the pain despite being burned alive, this was a sign something was not right if anyone was paying attention to the destitution she was raking on this small spot.

Onces the place was scorched and burning Fatia turned and left the area still holding her weapon at the ready. Her mind already in the set of burning things, but not to the point of going crazy. Holding her weapon at the ready before her pointed int he direction she wanted to fire Fatia moved at just shy of running as she headed to the main Military area were she saw some people running to. It must have come off she was running with her Weapon, the only one owned by a Knight, with the Pilot light lit and her moving at and attack pace. "Move!" She yelled in a rather Horse voice giving the thrower a little spriz to clear the way. Of course the heat alone was enough to get people from in-front of her just as not to get burned. Thinking as she normally did she was going to be well with in close range of things that ignite she opened the Barrel of the Thrower, redusing the range to about ten meters. Of course this meant she was at a dis-advantage when it came to range fighting, but she did extream damage up close.

With not even thinking Fatia busted into the building with the Military and looked around. Her Brother was bound to be around somewhere. But where. Once inside however she saw something that caught her eye, been. With out thinking she walked up to it and lit it on fire with the Pilot light and sat down crossing her legs placing her hands under her chin as the Pilot Light went out rendering the Flamethrower harmless.

Condition Critical...

I continue limping through the base and then Elite Mew said "The energy from before is now in the base." I then see the hospital but I fainted from weakness and before I lost my hearing, I heard Elite Mew said "Nights, don't collapse now, we are near the hospital..."

Luna woke up in her tent...

Argh, my head hurts.

Was there anyone else who needed help?

She slipped out of her tent and turned in the direction of the former battlefield-

The Guardian before was lying on the ground, the Black Kat hovering over her.

"Need some help?"

Tinkerin'

Vincent paused for a moment before mentally facepalming himself.

"Right, Right, you can fly. This whole situation has got me a bit rushed myself. Alright. I can patch together these Proto Charges, then you fly me down. I have a feeling he'll need the both of us to help him down there".

He began to take out the Proto-Charges from his satches, and lastly took out the wrench he had picked up at the workshop. Piecing them together in an 'X' pattern, he left the centre module with a needle like point. Turning it around in his mechanical hand, he made sure there weren't any leaks or issues that may cause it to go wrong. This was a last chance sort of thing after all.

"Ok, Im good, ghost fella'. Hoist me down, and I'll give him this Modified Spark. Should hopefully work".

Vincent kept the charge held tight in his hand, while the other held his shotgun ready for anything unexpected on the level below. Even though he had felt the odd energy start to seep into his own way of judgement, he held firm for the time being, hoping it may not be as bad when he went down.
