Why do people dislike the Rigadoon/Flamberge?

This happens to be my first post, I hope I don't offend anyone. It seems that many people prefer the original Flourish over the Rigadoon and Flamberge. Not that Flourish-type weapons are common, since I rarely see them used in a PvE environment. I actually own a Rigadoon myself, but I only crafted it to mess around really. Turns out, it's pretty fun to use! The stun isn't even as "rare" as they make it out to be, as I find it to be rather common. I've seen the stats and stuff, and yeah, sure the Rigadoon and Flamberge have weaker base damage, and sure, they have "low" chances of effecting things, but they still do seem to be very fun weapons.

Also, sorry if my thoughts are scattered. I tend to drift off easily.

Fire is a completely useless status most of the time. It only adds damage over time.
Having a weapon that just deals more damage upfront is like the same thing, but better.

Then stun is a defensive status, slowing down enemies. A good player can kill enemies without needing to slow them down.

I guess they are fun weapon, but they ain't efficient. Many player only care about damage output.

Regular Flourish will almost always kill enemies in less hits than the Rigadoon, so the difference is significant. When in a party, this difference can be measured in full combos, not just hits.

When compared to things like Polaris and Storm Driver, the infliction rate of Rigadoon and Flamberge is really low.

Flamberge is worse, though. No enemies are simultaneously weak to both fire and piercing damage. Devilites in particular are highly resistant to fire, and even if the infliction rate was 50%, Flourish would still outdamage it.

@Little-Juances
I must object! Fire, in addition to its damage over time, deals instant damage at the moment of infliction. For this reason, a Magma Driver charge can actually outdamage a Nova Driver charge before having to wait the fire out.

Here's my usual link to my sword guide, where I compare these swords:

To clarify: I own all four piercing swords. The rates of stun and fire don't make up for the lower damage, in my opinion.

I actually use my Fearless

I actually use my Fearless Rigadoon far more times than my Finale Flourish.

In fact, swords are just like little toys to me that I will sometimes bring out to play with. I could care less if I can kill wolvers and devilites and a matter of 3 hits or less with my Flourish. I want to have some fun, with is where my shiny golden sword comes into play!

People treat non-flourish toothpick swords like they don't deal any damage at all and it really annoys me. And I agree with how common the status effects can be in some cases. It doesn't surprise me in the least when I hit multiple enemies and leave most of them stunned.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Flamberges are good for one thing:

They make you not entirely helpless against Lumbers and Ice Cubes like the other flourishes do....
