The wiki says that I can get one if i play Blast Network between august 4th to 8th. Is that every year or only the time it was released?

Awww... I hope we get another chance to earn it, seems pretty wasteful to make a costume just to give it to players who played Blast Network during a span of four days.
Maybe after the gunner update there will be a bomber update with spiral bombheads for everyone :D

I got mine when Blast Network
I got mine when Blast Network first launched. Which was around August of 2011 or so. I think...

It's a collector's item that was given to players who participated when the Colosseum originally launched in 2011.
It shouldn't be a reward anymore because it'd ruin the point of the items along with the Groundbreaker or even the Homecoming items:
They're limited items that mean that you were here when it happened.
This is just like if 1 person out of 100 received a Chocolate Chip Cookie for being the earliest and everyone else just got plain cookies, everyone would want Chocolate Chip Cookies and if they ended up getting it, the first person would be disappointed because it represented that he got something special for being earlier than everyone else. Then the next day, someone would receive an Oatmeal Cookie and everyone would just forget about everyone having Chocolate Chip Cookies and end up wanting Oatmeal.

I've never seen anyone wearing a spiral bombhead as part of their costume unless I asked them to show it to me. A costume is meant to be worn, but those who would want to wear them aren't among the ones that got it. I wouldn't mind if everyone who played blast network during the early period got a big shiny badge(in the achievements tab perhaps) saying that they did, but i don't see the sense in holding back content to most people which results in it never being used.

Well most of the people who have the original first gen Rose Regalia Sets (Black, White, and Red) probably don't play anymore. By that logic, they should be re-introduced because they are hardly seen anymore.

Anyways, that argument relies on if the bombhead was promised to never be obtainable after the event. Wasn't that the cause of the big Rose reissue scandal, that some people believed that there was a promise and it had been broken?
SK is acquiring a large catalog of discontinued items to the point we are now thinking of them on the scale of years since introduction. I think it would be a mistake to think none of it could ever reappear in the years to come. It would not surprise me if accessories being leaked through the supply depot hints at trailing it as a complete online storefront, currently if you choose to craft rather than buy your gear then the bulk of the supply depot serves no purpose.
Should the drop rate of items that are currently set to zero be increased? If you consider certain things to be so 'holy' enough that they should stay as they are, just remember the game world does have a God and it is confirmed to exist. And it definitely tinkers with the world from time to time.

I still remember the joy that overcame me when i obtained my Shocking Bombhead mask all that time ago. I am always wearing either that or my cupcake head :3
I am pretty sure I have played at least one match between August 4th-8th this year and no, I don't have a Spiral Bombhead Mask.
