So I decided to take an Electron Vortex into a Fiend arena, silly me. I half expected to ragequit mid-way. But...

People say Greaver arenas are hard, but that has to be the easiest Stage 3 clear I've ever had. Even Voltaic Tempest, which everyone says will absolutely shut down Fiends, hasn't disabled them nearly as well.

The only place where this wouldn't work would be against shock fiends, for obvious reasons.
Would you use this method as well for future fiend arenas?

This would also work for Devilites and such, but I believe Greavers are the best candidate.

Has anyone done this before? Searches turned up nothing.

I don't think this is more of a gear discussion than a strategy discussion, Kathrine-Dragon.

You took plenty of hits using it and it looked like you couldn't be poisoned. Without a lot of defense, and resistance to the status they deal as necessary, you need to be pretty careful when using a Vortex against Greavers. If you manage to set a vortex or two down before they spawn (and give you a group hug), you should have an easier time.

Dark Briar Barrage/Nitronome/any blast bomb can do the same job while being considerably safer, since they have more range. They also don't require as much coordination amongst your teammates.

Well...

I had bound my recording button to CTRL+HOME, and shield bash was on CTRL so when I hit record I shield bashed.
It wasn't perfect but sure was fun. I suppose if I shocked them with a charge first and then laid another one down I could have done it with almost no damage taken.

Yeah, I use Electron Vortex

Yeah, I use Electron Vortex on Greavers a lot lately. You don't even need to bother with VT much. Just keep stringing those EV and they're pretty much shut down.

Works best with a (good) party, and the main risk is getting that first EV off. I got hit a lot at first too, but as I used it on Greavers more often, avoiding damage becomes natural. Just don't get yourself stuck in the middle of the vortex.
