Meatballs? Where'd those come from?
Anyway, here's a little status update on meh stuffs...
- Spiral TGC: Hiatus. May pick up later. It's fun to work on, to be sure.
- Retro Mod: Sad to say, I cannot work on this any more. It is rather tedeous, with it breaking every stinking update, and getting banned isn't something I want to deal with right now. However, I might, just might, give it out. It's rather outdated and would crash the game if you tried installing it in it's current state. It's also particularly hard to get everything in the game, being a lot of new stuff is getting added.
- Cradlebound: Hah. This is the only one of the three which I am still working on. You see, I have this nasty habit of starting a project, dropping it, and never touching it again. I want Cradlebound to be different, obviously why I still even think about it.
No, not in hiatus. But undergoing a few changes from the original plan. (Which I have pages of.) At one point I decided to do 3D, but it didn't stick. It felt...wrong. Obviously, too. It's harder to work in 3D, at least for me. I want this project to be something anyone can be a part of, and if you need a powerful PC which can run Blender AND Unity 3D, that's going to not work out...
Some people, if anyone has even payed attention to my ramblings, that is, know that Cradlebound was going to be like Earthbound, an old RPG for the Snes. My goal was to capture the best of both worlds, and revive the awesome sauce that has been largely forgotten...But Nintendo surprised a lot of fans by putting Earthbound on the Wii U's Virtual Console, and it was quite a hit, at least when I last checked. However, now the awesome sauce is back for probably a long time. (Yay!)
From a long time ago, someone told be RPGs are hard to make thanks to their large amount of content. I remembered that, and now looking at it, it would be a bit too much...RPGs are much more graphics and story intensive than other games. Therefor, while retaining a few of the quirks which would be place in RPG Cradlebound, taking a few awesome ideas from Earthbound, and then putting it in the awesome world of Spiral Knights, Cradlebound will be in a different genre. Which? Tee hee I won't tell! Not until Cristmas!
Until then, I'll be working on my pIxel art skills. I'll make sure to get it up to decent standards before Cristmas, when development (should) start. I'll be designing things so that I'll be able to get the important stuff done by myself, and then extra stuff will be made with the assistance of the community, who's attention I hopefully will have caught using my own creations.
Right now, I'm trying to compile the open scource Anura engine, created by the brilliant guys behind Battle for Wesnoth, and used to make Frogatto and Friends. You may be thinking, "Oh, it'll be sidescroller!" Hurp durp...
Like I said, until then I'll be practicing. Oh, and don't worry, I'll keep my ramblings about the game to myself until someone is interested about them. ;)
