Ok so, for example let's say zeddy knew krakob very well. Krakob doesn't like his name so he changes it to Mr.Krakob.
Zeddy deletes all friends he doesn't know. Zeddy then deletes Mr. Krakob, since he doesn't know who he is. Then krakob kills himself because Zeddy doesn't love him anymore and he has failed in life.
See? Do YOU want to die because your friend doesn't care about yoy anymore? OOO is tearing our lives apart!
On a more Sirius note; no one will recognize you when you change your name even if there is a notice sent to everyone. What's the point of paying for something that migh ruin you?

That's a very silly reason. You could merely ask the person if you don't recognize them. Surely if they mattered that much as a friend to you, they'd be honest and say what their name was prior.
If they have to go out of their way and change their name to stay away from you, then maybe you should reconsider your friendship.

If they are offline during that session of renaming, when they log on, they're instantly notified of "You are now friends with 'Example'." Surely, they'll question this 'Example', since they're aware of it as they first step into their account. If they're online, you'll disconnect with them notified simultaneously.
How do I know this? I renamed myself, from Hyper-Shock, and tested a 'tad bit.
