So umm I'm kinda new to LD i guess .-. so any recommendations on what loadout i should use for lockdown, i heard Tier 1 Lockdown is rather simple so any advice?
Lockdown for a new LD player
>There's a lot of variety in the game
haha
I do encourage you to try out different things, but in tier 1, there's not actually a whole lot of variety. Most guns are too slow or too short-ranged to matter and bombs have a radius of about 2 planck units, so all it really comes down to is what status effect you want on your quick sword and whether or not you have OCH for the hammer. So yes, it's "rather simple."
Oh yeah, Tier 1... JK about the variety... unless you deck yourself out with... ACCESSORIES! You can slay in style!
Well, tier 1 is kinda like trying to kill people with those long pool floater foam things, and shooting them with nerf toys. Add a guard shield which has more defensive power then the Enterprise from Star Trek and... ...ZZZzzzzzzz zz zz....
Tier 1... good luck, if you queue now you might get into a match by the end of the year. Try T2 instead. If you're new, get yourself a medium-fast weapon (not SS or troika, basically), try out all the classes and see what you like most. You can adapt your style from there. I personally recommend starting with Guardian, as it's most like PvE.
Read up on the LD damage mechanics on the forums.
Armor:
The most important aspect of armor is the bonuses they offer. This limits you to the gunslinger, bomber, and wolver armor for offensive bonus, and the elemental/specialized armor for status resist bonus. Of course you technically can use any armor you want, but armors without good bonuses are outclassed.
Weapon:
Bombs are pure support. You need to be ridiculously skilled at bombing to use it effectively offensively. Gun/sword hybrid is the most effective weapon combination for offense. Bomb + sword/gun for defense. Go ahead and try any weapon you want. You'll find that the only weapons that aren't outclassed are the ones that are popular. Great variety, huh?
Trinket:
Double your health with health pendants! Because if you don't, especially as a noob, people will destroy you before you can land a hit.
There's a lot of variety in the game - develope your own style if you can! There are plenty of cookie cutter loadouts. I'd encourage reading some wiki and watching some vids of people playing to see what you really want. Good luck!
