I've been playing with my dread venom striker while heating my mega magnus and this combination works really well against wolvers. My DVS has ASI VH and I had a medium sword damage bonus from my shield.

Granted my tactics changed a bit, but I never expected those two weapons to complement each other so nicely. What other weapons pairs work surprisingly well when used correctly?

DA and Shivermist Buster (VH CTR)

Place bomb, charge DA, repeat.

Works extremely well :)

There are many good combinations...

Voltaic Tempest/Shivermist Buster + Cold Iron Vanquisher/Leviathan Blade. <- These bombs unlock Caliburs' charge full potential. The result is a 360 degree charge attack, dealing 800/850-1100/1200 NORMAL damage to everything nearby.
Electron Vortex+CIV. <- Same as the previous one but the bomb groups all nearby enemies instead of just cancelling the knockack.
Electron Vortex+Sudaruska/Triglav <-Batabii has made a very nice screenshot: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/864966058950800124/FAD98B0D754D86CC9...

voltedge x Supernova

This works really well if you do this:
Spam super nova till you are about 7 blocks away, charge them while charging voltedge, and then when your charged, fire away. repeat

Leviathan blade and any

Leviathan blade and any magnus line.

It feels so slick to charge a zombie, then switch immediately and snipe it with Callahan. It has to be a callahan/IS tho, since you need the "gotcha b****" animation only it has.

You need ASI via SSB as well to finish the effect. Its so smooth....just awesome.

Other combos: Storm driver and WRH. Sorta known, but you can hit someone with storm, immediately switch to hammer, and use combo. With no asi, you can kill pretty much anyone in LD or deal a ton o lf dmg in PvE. Just shoot-shock-immediately use WRH combo (no AA tho, which makes it require a reverse final swing).

Also saw a video on BAB and VP. Decent, but not awesome.

Thats all i got. But seriously....Levi charge with callahan snipe finisher....too sick

Yeah, the magnus line is really catching my fancy. I've been meaning to record myself using the tactic and upload it, but I haven't gotten around to the second part quite yet. With the Cutter + Magnus combo, you dish out a few quick strikes before unloading a powerful flinching bullet. Rinse and repeat, and you have effectively flinch-locked your target. Part of me wants to get an Iron Slug so I can try this tactic out elsewhere, but I won't have enough radiant fire crystals to heat it to its full potential with the current drops.

I'd love to see how the PvE tactics work in Lockdown, and how the Lockdown tactics work in PvE. I'd assume the latter to be rather unchanged, but seeing odd combinations work out always feels good.

Are there any brilliant outcomes when you pair a catalyzer with something else? Sometimes I'll try to make a slime a "timebomb" with biohazard charge shots, and shieldbump it into a large group of other slimes in the jelly farm. I could see a Maskeraith cloak be really effective here, as all the slimes would stop attacking you (and if you're solo, go idle) and you can reposition yourself and take out a large amount of enemies in a single shot.

Catalyzers don't break freeze, so there's a lot of possibilities for extremely safe tactics there.
