Don't really care about your opinions, but feel free to post them anyway.

Generator Overdrives

Generator Overdrives (aka Crappy Name) are Crystal Energy upgrades to your Knight.

They allow you to purchase a time slot during the day (server time) where you can play without Elevator fees.

Fairly simple concept, you buy the timeslot and equip it and it is effective immediately.
If the time period you want it for has passed, it won't activate until the applicable timeslot.
They would typically last four hours each.
You can equip a maximum of two of them (for 8 hours a day).

You can get them in weekend only, 7 day and 30 day versions.

The reasons these would be a good addition to the game is pretty simple:

People who use Mist Energy, I'm pretty sure, would prefer to pay a small amount in Crystal Energy to play for free with their friends at a certain time of day, than wait 21 hours to play again. Converting 'free players' into small 'paying players' to get some added use out of the game.

Also, with the heavy load on Crystal Energy to progress and such now, this would alleviate some stress on players who are trying to get the Energy to craft into Tier 3.

It would also mean that the scenario of logging in to play with a friend but you're both out of Energy would almost disappear, since a cheap price would mean that for a few days you could jump in at the same time and play for what is technically, free.

This would also help with the shift from what was a "Pick up and Play" game to a more organized grouping game, with the changes to rewards based on depth joined. It would mean that less frequent players won't have to organize other things in advance to jump in and play with friends for a few hours to get unscaled rewards.

Obviously, the downside is that risk-free dungeon joining may open more people up to spamjoining groups to farm rare monsters at no cost. But I think that will be fixed by another update anyway.

The reason they are time based rather than all day things is to keep the cost down, basically.
Make it more feasible, I guess.

It also means that you don't have to buy exorbitant amounts of Crystal Energy to enjoy faster progression.

That's the idea.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Nice one! Wait

HAHAHAHAHAHA Nice one!

Wait shoot you're serious about this?
Dang. Just kidding. Alright idea, but it turns the game from casual to hardcore grind-to-win. I would hate it.

Rofl

Rofl shoebox. You got shut down, and instead of calmly handling it, you come back with a 8 year old response. What a knight xD. BTW this isn't Nexon. I hope you try to keep terrible suggestions like this out of the game so it can NOT be even a LITTLE bit like any Nexon game EVER. Have a nice day, Trashbag.

I wasn't shut down, I was just rebooting

You got shut down, and instead of calmly handling it, you come back with a 8 year old response. What a knight xD.

Why would I put time and effort into an idiot's opinion xD?
Except to bump my own topics xD.

BTW this isn't Nexon. I hope you try to keep terrible suggestions like this out of the game so it can NOT be even a LITTLE bit like any Nexon game EVER.

Wow, you're right! Spiral Knights is totally different to any Nexon game I've ever played xD.

Oh wait, no it isn't.

roflol xD super kawaii desu!11!!1!!!1 xDxDxD

I don't even know what this has to do with Nexon.
But since you're the expert on being a knight who plays their games, you can tell me.

xD

Have a nice day, Trashbag.

lol@Newknights who think they can insult me xD
You're just a tiny babby speck, your opinion is so worthless Mods can't even be bothered moderating it roflollerskates

If it weren't for the fact I needed to bump this I wouldn't even be replying to you.

So how about that?

Will NEVER happen. Not cost

Will NEVER happen. Not cost effective for them to ever implement something that would let you go down for free. Even during a 4 hour window max it would never happen. OOO want us to spend energy, they're running the game, but also running a business. Doing what you are talking about is the equivalent of a restaurant going "Pay $5 and you can come in every day this month from 4pm-5pm and eat all you want!" It's slitting your own throat.

Oh, and "Don't really care about your opinions, but feel free to post them anyway." is a FANTASTIC way of getting support for your idea. From the players or the devs.

Standing around is free, it costs OOO money.

OOO want us to spend energy, they're running the game, but also running a business.

Exactly.

This isn't free, it costs Crystal Energy.
People often use their Mist Energy to do risk free diving, free players will only use Mist Energy, etc.

As a business, would you rather that people pay in an RMT form, even vicariously through the market system, or for free through something you generate for them?

"Pay $5 and you can come in every day this month from 4pm-5pm and eat all you want!"

That's not an effective market strategy.

There are similar things, like all you can eat buffets, or just buffets in general.
Where while you have access to something, for that period of time you are allowed to eat whatever is available to you.
The cost to consumption ratio for the food is evened out, people feel like they're getting a bargain but they're really just getting cut-price food and recycled seconds.

It's a highly profitable form of business.

Point is, this is meant to turn what people introduce as a "you only get 1 hour of free play a day" game into a more new player friendly experience.
People have asked in the past to be able to pay a one time fee and play without elevator fees.
I don't see how this is any less feasible.

Oh, and "Don't really care about your opinions, but feel free to post them anyway." is a FANTASTIC way of getting support for your idea.

See, when I put that last in my posts, nobody notices, when I put first, everybody reads it.
It was a test to see the parts which people read.

Obviously, since you people are illiterate and have the attention spans of a Chimpanzee with a Percolator, you miss it when it's at the bottom because you stop reading halfway through.

However, when it's at the start, you feign being offended (AKA 'get butthurt') and pretend like you were actually going to read the idea and tell me I'm missing out on some valuable opinion. Which, you know, I'm not. Either way.

The Devs don't actually care what disclaimers I put in my post.
Whether I care about their opinion or not, this becomes their Intellectual Property and they can do whatever they want with it regardless of what I say.

You haven't really been around long enough to judge me for what I put in my posts, anyway.
Since you clearly have never seen the shitstorms that ensue from posting an idea that involves anything relating to Energy.
