Well where should I begin... today I log in to see that there is a new update, with actual weapons that I want. I play through a simple T3 Apocrea run with my friend and all, and everything goes smooth. After doing so I tryed to do a simple Dark Harvest mission. All went well until I made it the to Punkin King, he gave us Trick which I was fine with, but upon the spawning of the bomb gourdlings. As soon as they exploded I lost connection completely. Thinking that it was just my internet acting up I reset it and went back to work. I tried once more, and the same thing happened. I decided to just go on my Apocrea runs with friends, and with every bombie I found they would explode and crash my game (not the client, but the connection itself) as well. I'd like to enjoy this update as much as the rest of community, but with every simple explosion making my game lose connection to the server as a whole it's really ticking me off. Basically I hope that this issue is resolved soon, or that the server is fixed since I'm pretty sure that I can't be the only one getting this. Before anybody says "get a better computer" "Update Java" or anything else. I have a really high end PC, my Java is up to date, I have 24 Gb of ram, and this sort of issue has never happened before. Not to mention I also noticed that some items can't be searched in the Auction house for me and some of my friends, but I seem to be the unlucky one today...
Major Issues with this update
@ Fangel
My pc is fully up to date, I have windows 8, and my graphic drivers for my Nvidia Card are up to date as well, and yeah sorry didn't catch that when I made this post.
The most common cause of an unusual problem like this immediately after an update is that the update did not apply properly. Thankfully this can usually be fixed by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. Since you're using Steam there's an extra step to make sure all the game files have been removed. Please try following these instructions, you will not lose any in game progress by doing this:
- Right-click Spiral Knights in the Steam Library and choose the "Delete Local Content" option to remove the game.
- Navigate to your Steam Spiral Knights folder (default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\spiral knights) and delete any remaining files or folders.
- Go to Spiral Knights in the Steam Store and install the game again normally. The game will automatically patch to the current version when launched.
@ Helios It didn't really help since I'm still getting these bugs with explosives, and with having to go for jelly gems this isn't helping.
Update: Whenever I try and verify the integrity of my game's cache it always finds 1 item that failed to validate. No idea if it's still just gonna stop, but this is getting very annoying.
Can you benchmark your internet for me? After you run the test, click "Share This Result" and paste the link that is generated afterward.
Can you post a copy of your launcher.log? It is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Spiral Knights\ (if it's too long, feel free to paste it in pastebin.com or something)
Since you have a large amount of available RAM (and assuming you're not using most of it...like trying to run Crysis in the background or something), you may benefit by creating a "extra.txt" file in that same directory with the text "-server" in it.
If you are running Windows, are the latest windows updates all installed? What version of windows are you running? Are all your drivers up to date?
Also, might want to move this to the technical issues forum.
