Obsidian Crusher > Graviton Vortex
Obsidian Edge ??? Acheron (Acheron is straight up better if you're not using the charge, but if you are, then Obsidian Edge might be better in some circumstances while Acheron is better in others).
I would recommend crafting all of the new stuff.

For the sword and the gun, is it confirmed that the status can be inflicted with regular attacks (and not just charge attacks)?

The carbine is able to inflict poison on normal attack but I do not know about the sword. My guess would be no as it seems to be just a poison brandish and follows the brandish rules.

The Obsidian Edge is just a
The Obsidian Edge is just a shadow/poison combuster with a cool charge attack.
The Obsidian Crusher is also almost just a poison graviton charge with a cool animation, but it deals slightly more damage.
The Obsidian Carbine is more interesting because:
1. It's got slightly farther range.
2. It's charge attack doesn't disappear if shot next to a wall, unlike a Sentenza or an Argent peacemaker.
3. It's dark + poison (like all the others, but ranged) ecellent for taking down the Ice Queen or ol' Slimey with.
4. It shows that three rings have started to like the Antigua Line. We might expect improvements to their charges too in the future.
5 It seems like the charge has got lesser knockback and thinner projectile.

There is no better or worse for the Acheron and Edge. They both serve their intended purposes; a Utility Shadow/Poison Sword and a raw damage Shadow Sword with higher stats.
Carbine is arguably better than Sentenza. Not a horrible poison chance instead of an incredibly situational Gremlin Bonus. Slap on a Gremlin Med UV on your Carbine and all you have to worry about is aesthetics.
Poor, poor Graviton Vortex.

Yes, the obsidian weapons are reskins. The obsidian edge deals shadow and poison damage where as in the Acheron, it only deals shadow damage. It recently got a buff for a few reasons.
The Sentenza and the Obsidian Carbine have two bonuses. The Sentenza has a Gremlin Med bonus while the Obsidian Carbine has poison on it. What Maskeraith said, you could slap a Gremlin Med UV on your Obsidian Carbine. That will make your Obsidian Carbine into a Sentenza and a Obsidian Carbine gun.
The Obsidian Crusher makes the gravition bomb useless. The Obsidian Crusher deals poison damage where as in the Gravition bomb, it doesn't deal poison. They both have the same stats.

They all deal Poison yet they all have pretty much the same functions as the other weapons (Vortex, Acheron). Kinda useless if you ask me.

Not only is that sort of insult completely uncalled for, but it barely makes sense in the first place. Everyone wants/likes easy money. The way I see it, you can write two sentences and get 1k crowns. Can't get much easier than that.

They are just reskins, ATM in all game I can't imagine a situation where they are more useful than their analogs.
+graviton was always useless, same as sentenza(now its just +2 more useless obsidian weap);Acheron > Obsidian

Oh, we understand what you are saying. We are simply arguing that you are not using these weapons in the situation they are designed for. Firstly, a vortex is arguably the best bomb in the game, both for crowd control and damage. secondly, poison affects everyone else, makes menders kill your opponents for you etc. Take the obsidian weapons to OCH, and they are superior to their vanilla counterparts.
In a way, yes, they are technically a reskin as the same way a Combuster is a reskin of Glacius and Voltedge: They seem like reskins because they function exactly as their predecessor:
*The Obsidian Edge acts exactly like an Acheron because its predecessor is the Silent Nightblade, much like how a Blizzbrand acts exactly like a Glacius does, just better and stronger than its predecessor.
*The Obsidian Carbine is exactly like a Sentenza because its predecessor was the Blackhawk. Just with a status-attached to it.
*The Obsidian Crusher is exactly like Graviton Vortex because its predecessor was the Graviton Bomb. Just with a status-attached to it.
Depends what you mean by "improved or worse"
There are multiple situations where the obsidian counter-part could outweigh their pure-power counterpart. Poison can help allies inflict more damage and last longer and prevents enemies from healing. Poison is useful in specific scenarios, same goes for any form of Status. The weapons have their pros and cons just like other weapons:
*The Obsidian Edge despite being outclassed by the Acheron, is one of two swords that can inflict Poison: The other being Dread Venom Striker, but the Obsidian Edge has the added bonus of having specialized damage.
*The Obsidian Carbine due to the very-high rate of fire, is a great weapon to inflict Poison. Pesky Menders won't be able to heal and unlike the Biohazard, allows more direct shots and has a higher chance of inflicting poison thanks to the high Speed-Stat.
*The Obsidian Crusher easily outweighs the Graviton Vortex, not only does it inflict specialized Shadow-Damage, it has a chance to Poison too! Once again, Gremlins have something to fear: A weakness to Shadow AND the added bonus of Poison. It's literally the perfect counterpart to the Electron Vortex!
There is no real way of saying they're improved or worse as they're improved in one aspect, but worse in others. It's more of a fine-line between both.
