only I find, that the design of the new weapon is beaten out from the general weapon/armor concepts and looks awfully?

I do agree that the Sword looks a bit iffy, being 'broken' & all, but I like it better than the 'ninja blade.' That's why I chose to use the Gran Faust when there was only 2 Shadow Swords.
If they had made a 3 & 4* variant of the Weapons, these would fit the picture perfectly.
I could imagine the higher the *, the more 'cleaner' the weapon would become, such as the Sword having being less shattered & more complete, the Bomb having Obsidian Shards rotating around it(similar to Graviton), & the Handgun having a floating Shard that acts like a sight.
But overall, I'm okay with the way they look.

That's the point. They're supposed to look strange and outlandish.

This is true.
We must also especially remember that these weapons are made of Obsidian materials purchased for a spirit.
Pretty much everything related to this whole obsidian event is kind of creepy and supernatural.

No it is not. The weapons are meant to be created from obsidian (certain kind of rock). They are not made out of steel/metal like most other SK weapons. That's the way the new weapons are supposed to look. Plus, it really fits in with the Halloween theme.
