I think Spiral Knights should be available for android. Im thinking of touch based movement with a stats bar on the left and then your action controls on the right. but have it work in widescreen mode only
What do you guys think?

As cool as that might be, maybe just an app, allowing people to check auctions/mail or some such. I don't think all of SK would really work....
I agree. An auction app would be great, with options to check exchange rates or whatnot.
They both use Java. Minecraft has a horribly downgraded version on mobile that can't even connect with normal PC. Spiral Knights is much more graphics (and thus lag) intensive; what do you think'll happen if it hits the phones? Either terrible graphics for a wider audience or most people's phones crashing from using it due to the graphics.
Actually, Minecraft uses exclusively code for it's models system, where Spiral Knights uses actual model files so it'd be even worse than that.
I think the point is, Minecraft was worse on phones, why should we expect more out of SK? Honestly, if they can pull it off well, I'd be happy. But I don't want to ask them to try.
like others said, probably cant be done with the current phones, maybe in a few years gameplay be possible. but being able to check AH and maybe a few other things that could play the game in a similar way for a few crs... but not the actual in game play, though I would like it.
Why is everyone so pessimistic by default?
Mixatar is spot on, I was easily able to install the game with the use of BusyBox and OpenJDK. I'm not too much into comp sci myself so I'm not sure if Dalvik alone could perform the necessary interpretations Spiral needs to run on such devices but I'm certain it wouldn't require nearly as much work as a complete rewrite. Optimization is clearly a factor but that is beyond the scope. Regardless, this could potential introduce significantly more players which is obviously great news for Three Rings/Sega.
You'd have to give way more details.
