Gear Patch Suggestions: What you think the game needs (Read OP)

Okay I'm not sure if this has been done before or anything because I'm too lazy to search and even when I use google the results are still... meh-ish at best. So bear with me...

Now what is this thread for? First allow me to explain.

We know a Gunner Patch is coming. Some people have also... guessed certain things based on certain insider info. So amidst all these, I think we ought to start thinking about what the game needs, what it COULD need, and other things, in a say, "Bomber Patch" or "Swordsman Patch". But first let me set one rule: Please throw balance issues out the window for the sole purpose of this thread. That is for another day and another thread, and I'm only looking for Mechanics in terms of playing, not trying to compare the damage numbers of Brandish vs Calibur.
For me, since apparently OOO is trying to spread out damage types to different mechanics, we ought to have:

(For most cases split would simply be half normal half special, as it is for all in game items as of this writing)
Swords:

-Heavy sword, split piercing-Complements Gran Faust and Divine Avenger. Need not necessarily branch out from Sealed Sword.
-Flourishes could be given damage type expansions as well.
-Vog forbid, but a split piercing brandish. We need more piercing swords!
-Leviathan blades could also get damage expansions. Perhaps in contrast to brandishes, these would be pure special types instead of split.
-Cutter lines! I think specialised damage for these weapons can be very interesting. Maybe Wild Hunting Blade can be split piercing?
-SPURS. Please show this line of swords more love. I would like them to branch out into two lines: The current winmillion, and another version which does not shoot projectiles with normal swings. There's a difference to how they will be used this way. Of course, they would benefit from damage expansions as well.
Optional:
-Rocket Hammer is an interesting "sword". I'm not sure if this should be given any other expansions, what with it being a reward from Expansion mission, but more swords like these would be interesting.
-New sword that functions completely different from what the swords do now.
-Cold Edge, Freezing Edge, Toxic Edge, Venomous Edge. Pleeeeeease?
-I would like to see other lines deal statuses as well, not just brandishes, which seems to be the main status inflictor. Like, fire cutters or shock spurs.

Guns:

I know the update is already underway as it is, but I'll list them anyway. Let's see how many the update scores... *coughcough*

-5* PIERCING ANTIGUA.
-More damage type Blasters.
-More damage type Autoguns?
-I don't know how lore will go on this, but a piercing alchemer might be interesting for devilites and trojans. Can we also have poison alchemers?
-Iron slug. Oh, iron slug.
-Magnus lines could use some expansion, and while you are at it, Iron slug.
-A highly controversial one: More pulsars. And let's throw in some statuses. I expect a shadow poison. You might as well kill off Catalyzers.
-But no. Catalyzers need some love. Elemental variant would be really nice.
Optional:
-Again, other lines dealing statuses could be nice. Carbine (antigua) already got it, and honestly speaking a "Fair chance of dealing X" is not THAT high a chance at all. After all...
-Snarby gun! Pleeeeeeease?
-As always, a new gun that functions completely different from what it does now.
-Alchemers could use some realistic ricochet physics. I mean, can it just bounce off the opposite way instead of INTO a wall?
-There should be a fix for charged shots such as Antigua, Blaster and Pulsars. It applies to swords as well, but these guns don't even have a slash.

Bombs:

-Elemental and Shadow Blast Bombs.
-Please, for the love of vog, fix the invincitinks on the Shard Bombs. I know this kind of falls under balance but welll....
-We need some kind of shrapnel bomb to deal with ranged enemies, similar to the old shards. Like bombies. They explode then shoot out bullets yes?
-There could be more bomb mechanics. Currently, it's just Blast, Chemical/Haze, Shard, Vortex, Dark Retribution.
Optional:
-Due to lack of variety I don't know what else to say for bombs...
-Dark Retribution could use invincitinks, because shards have them. I might get killed for this. Don't do it. Or you should, since you're trying to *balance* damage output on things like Seraphynx laser.
-More damage types for Dark Retribution? Elemental Retribution would kill FSC
-I would love to see things like Blast bombs inflict statuses like their Cold Snap etc counterparts. It'd be rather interesting. Shock, Freeze, even fire might up the game for bombers in lockdown, and timing would be needed rather than just simply ignoring the damage and knockback.

Others:

Armor, Helmets and Shields would go here. Trinkets too.

-Piercing Shields need more status resistances other than sleep and stun. I mean the normal/piercing ones, not Dragon Scale.
-A poison elemental shield would be nice.
-We could have more shields like Swiftstrike Buckler, providing a bonus even if it means sacrificing the potential shieldpower. Let's not forget Scarlet shield!
-We need a Radiant Silverhelm line. Then we would have a set that protects against: Piercing Elemental, Shadow Elemental, Shadow Piercing.
-You might as well give Divine Cloak the Fiend med bonus as well.
-Bomber gear needs more defense type variety, not just offense. For example, Volcanic could be... piercing defense? Shadow?
-I would love to see more specialised gear that decreases a certain weapon type's stats while increasing another. This could also make up for seemingly "overpowered" bonuses, such as Chaos.
-Can we actually have more variety in defense and status resistance combos? Poison resistance seems to follow Shadow defense for majority of things (Dragon Scale is an exception, but it lacks normal defense), Freeze resistance have some balance (Ice Queen, Skelly, Nameless), Shock resistance is almost non-existent on shadow defense gear (Divine again lacks normal defense), same with fire and piercing (Dragon Scale lacks normal defense). To Firestorm Citadel with curse resistance, unless you decide to make a curse themed level that is available without someone paying for a Shadow Key.

-Any others, list them out; I never was one to care about defense much. I'll add them in if I think it's reasonable.

If you think any of them are unreasonable, please explain why and I'll strike them out if I think it has some basis.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying ALL of them are/have to be implemented, it is just a basis for determining what ought to be in a patch, mainly expanding current lines and how to go about it. Things like new weapons and balance deserve their own thread. Mostly.

Guns look fine, swords fine, and so on. Nice ideas

Toothpicks. That's it. Flourishes. Thorn Blades. That's it.

This... ONE mechanic. Only. For Piercing.

I like my heavy swords, I prefer using it to kill wolvers, and certainly won't mind that for greavers, and I won't mind a piercing brandish to destroy trojans and devilites alike. Darned silkwings and gorgos too...
Meanwhile, FSC gets destroyed by even Acheron. What a joke...

Now tell me why do we need so many elemental weapons in the game...
(That's like borderline balance issue. Dammi me, stop!)

Please don't change Dark Retribution.

Just change the Shard Bombs back into the projectiles that we all know & love with the current Bombs we have, just don't do anything to Dark Retribution. It's already been nerfed before & we don't need to make us Bombers suffer even more.

I think the bomber gear was meant to be defensive, except Mad Bomber. Defensive as in the stats of Wolver gear. It's built exactly like Wolver, but it didn't seem to work out as Wolver had. I say leave it be, maybe move the stats around.

@Playerman I meant like, piercing and shadow defense. Updating OP.
