I don't find the Obsidian weapons that...attractive. I know the charges are pretty sick but the tentacles look shiny. Plus Acheron got a buff so I don't see how poison would overpower the Obsidian edge as some say.
What do you guys think?s

im too lazy to even play there for the time being
its a shiny place and all, but not really in the mood for collecting these weapons
my glacius and blitz ctr high each paired with swifty are perfectly okay for every place anyway
and for collecting purposes i have other things on my list (:
altho i think they look awesome, im just quite sure id almost never need them or id want a decent uv on them, which needs even more farming >.<''
heating them is another annoying factor i really love to avoid :D! very proud of avoiding that

I love the Sword.
It looks better than the Acheron, in my opinion, & the Poison makes it feel like an actual Brandish Line Weapon.
But since there are almost no Radiant Fire Crystals, I can't heat it up, along with the Bomb & a few other Items. Oh well, at least I can Craft other 5* stuff in the meantime.

I'm probably not going to use them that much, just because I already got an Acheron, a Sentenza, and an Electron Vortex, all lvl 10. However, because I have a limited window of opportunity to acquire the Obsidian weapons, I've been going out of my way to get them. Same with the Kat hoods when they came out. I've never used my 5* Kat hat, but I'd regret never getting it.

We're on the same boat.
The Apocrea missions is too mush risk for little reward. All the weapons are "reskins" with added Poison bonus.
Unless you fancy cool animations, theres really no need to play the Apocrea and get lost.

I think you are just trying to justify your laziness or inability to obtain obsidian weapons and reinforcing that justification by asking people on the forums for their opinion.
After obtaining all three weapons I can say that the sword and bomb was totally worth the effort however I don't really use guns much and I only got the carbine for completion sake.

Khamsin, not sure the recipe thing is a good argument considering the crafting costs are 25k essentially the same as a 5* recipe. However I guess you do save around 5k over a normal recipe craft...

Obsidian crusher is a vast
Obsidian crusher is a vast improvement over any vortex bomb because of the poison, which lets it synergize with brandish charges.
Obsidian carbine is a direct upgrade of Sentenza (really, nobody cares about damage med vs. Gremlins or whatever).
Obsidian edge looks great, and poison is a useful status.

No, it's not good if you don't have a Sentenza. It's a straight up upgrade from Sentenza because people already running max gun damage are not going to benefit from Sentensa's bonus.

I personally don't want the weapons. The risk over reward honestly feels poor to me considering I'd have to go create some new weapons, level them up, create MORE new weapons, level those up, then grind in fiend themed levels in stratum 6. No thank you, I'd like to stick with my Acheron. I've never been much of a charge spammer with Brandishes anyway.
I do have a Black Hawk that is close to level 10 but I haven't gotten a Sentenza yet and I'd rather have bonus Gremlin damage over poison. After all, I have a maskeraith that can poison everything for me!
I do agree that the weapons look nice but looks only get you so far. (Please examine a Recon Ranger in tier 3 with an Auto-gun for details).

I only got the carbine because it's the only one whose preceding recipes I have (as in I learned the Blackhawk a long time ago Blackhawk). THE DAY I sell my Sentenza is the day I get Gremlin Medium on my Obsidian gun (ihateyouzeddy).

I don't give a wolver's tail about these Obsidian weapons. Sure they LOOK nice.. but... why should I waste my time getting them? I have my Combuster. My trusty Combuster. It does everything for me. It ravages everything in my path. I like to see the little gremlins, fiends, and constructs lying on my grill. It gives me good satisfaction.
In other words. My Combuster > Obsidian Hubbaloo

Combuster is pretty bad for gremlins and beasts. It might get the job done with enough effort but that's what other damage types are for.

What do you mean? Besides the Dread Venom Striker, the Obsidian Edge is the only poison sword. In addition, Acheron and Gran Faust are your only other options for shadow swords. You could use a Plague Needler or a Biohazard, but I see few of the former, and none of the later, while the Obsidian Carbine is easier to use and doesn't plant you to the ground. As for poisonous bombs, the Venom Veiler is the only other option there. If you don't care about poison, that's fine, but frankly I think it's more useful to use the obsidian weapons over the others because of it. An Acheron is better damage for me, but a poisoned gremlin is more damage for everyone, less damage caused by it, and can't be healed.

I personally think that Apocrea and its related gear are for fans of shadowy-dark-evil themed things, including me, and I could totally go for the costumes (no energy though).
About the weapons, I have an Acheron so no thank you to OE and the Sentenza is less out-of-this-cradle/world than OC.
I admit the skins are cool but not staying true to the cartoony-ish-kinda theme of SK.
It's like you're holding standard metal gun and the adjacent guy holding a gun of rock held together by pink grape juice.
Carbine > sentenza if you don't have a shadow gun.
