This is a thread about you least favourite monsters.
Mine is all the Devilite variants cause they are so damn annoying and I hate em so much.
Also it would be cool if we helped each other to destroy our need to rage by giving tips. :)
Least Favourite Monsters
Scarabs are very annoying if you do not know how to deal with them. The secret is to Chain EVs and lure them in while they charge, not however if you stay to close to them while spinning you will get hurt.
Although I noticed the devilities are not tracking me as much when they throw stuff and if I'm feeling lazy I just polaris spam them. Blitz spam actually works too if you back up and let them run into the charge. Otherwise its pretty much sword flailing at them.
For 2-3 greavers, I run into a corner and spam the first flourish swing to flinch them (they are aggro on me cause i hit them once right when they spawn). For an army, idk what to do except the piercing bomb (Which i do not have). The corner trick doesnt work on armies due to their stun or shock hazes.
For the freeze lumbers, I just try to keep away from them, especially when alone or around knock back crazy teammates.
I've seen vanguards who still go into panic mode when facing a trojan by themselves, so I guess people don't like them sometimes. I normally just pause (or stop, shield, and come out charging a blitz) for a split second at a certain distance (takes experience to memorize) so they smash attack and are wide open or if they are far away i pause, wait for them to dash, but move only a small amount to dodge them, but still be close enough for them to proceed with a smash attack. Then they eat a blitz charge. If you dont have a blitz (cause you are heating) you can keep one or more trojans occupied by pausing and moving so that they smash attack the same place over and over again. The pause can instead be the initial swing for a brandish charge if you plan on getting some damage in.
Something I've learned is if the trojan is at full health and facing a teammate, it is not wise to just go in for a blitz on their back. They often quickly turn around, block the entire charge, and dash or hammer you in the face. So try to get aggro.
But really just try to keep calm when fighting tough threats. Hope this helps.
I run circles around Trojans.
Least Favorite: Apocrea Boss. No satisfaction in killing it.
Minis in general are giant trolls, as well as Gorgos. I avoid fighting both of these types of enemies if I can.
Devilites are tough but they're not generally dirty. Sometimes they strike you after you strike them but in general they play fair-ish.
Least Favorite: Apocrea Boss. No satisfaction in killing it.
Same could be said for Swarm enemies. At least when you're raiding Grasping Plateau you get the sense of "winning" by freeing souls. Against the Swarm, your only purpose of being in that place is to make it through alive.
Mostly because after they stop their attack, the damage is still active for about half a second if you happen to walk in front of them. Bombs take em out easy, but they are the most annoying when you just want to run around them.
n.1 hate:SCARABS!!! THEY SRE SO OP IN A GROUP!!!! (i need help)
n.2 hate:DEVILITIES!!! actually they are OK to beat with callahan :DDDD
but with swords... (need help again)
n.3 hate: GORGOES!!!!!!!!!i think i got the trick, but they are still damn hard in arena DDD:
greavers are EASY: when they attack, hit the with ANYTHING,and the attack will stop (good weps are toothpicks and WRH)
Most annoying family ever made.
explanation:
1. Devilites and Overtimers: dat ninja skillz. Luckily Callahan and Stun make quick work of 'em.
2. Greavers... One hit flinches them, but a whole group of 'em (+ few silkwings) makes it impossible *cough*arena*cough*
3. Gorgoes! So freaking hard to hit, even with swords. I mostly use bombs against these guys, that's the only thing that really works.
4. Trojans: Not hard at all, but can just be really annoying. I mostly finish them instantly with my Blitz.
For the rest, darkfang menders can sometimes troll you like hell and glop drops if you dont have aoe.
Having to explain my least favorite monster would either require researching and categorizing in order my preferences or just plainly shout my flavor of the moment. I'd be quick to say things like Gorgos, Gremlins Thwackers, Greavers and some other things that can lock your position while attacking and effectively chase you, but that would be clearly due to the fact that older monsters that are far more common do not use a similar AI anymore like Wolvers, Zombies and Retrodes, and as a result knights are too comfortable fighting those. Come to think of it, Gremlin Knockers really could use this AI as well. Red Rovers and Gremlin Pyros would certainly enjoy this feature as well, but maybe OOO has an embarassing problem working with the fire streams on that end. Thinking of enemies I hate usually ends up going back to enemies I have pity and endearing attachment for.
I digress. To be frankly blunt, Gorgos are easily the least appealing and entertaining foes to battle against as far as I am concerned. And Gremlin Mortars are simply just the most malicious buns of a twitch I have ever faced in this game.
I hate compound levels, but Gremlins are bad, mean, bad, bad..bad!!
And worst of all, every other monster was nerfed making gremlins even worse in comparison!
1) LAG
2) Swarms - Jeeze I need a bomb like the Shivermist Buster
3) Fear/Terror - Nothing kills a knight like fear (see greavers)
4) The Swarm
5) Greaver swarms
6) Gremlins swarms - especially with bombers + healers combo
7) Robots in swarms
8) Scarabs and Dust Bunnies - any number of them bigger than 3
9) The Apocrean
10) Overtimers
11) Beasts - Strike Needle + teleport = >:/
12) Gorgos - usually in the lack of a tunnel to fall back
13) Sometimes Vanduke in third phrase - How does one avoid his fireballs with his charges while also avoiding shadow fire and charging your Strike Needle
The Trojans are warriors from the underworld, but their dark power can corrupt some knights who stay in their realm on Cradle for too long, turning them into monsters resembling the evil Fat Horses (Trojans) themselves.
I absolutely despise Gorgos. My only effective strategy against them are bombs, and I enjoy a balance of guns and swords.
Now before I started running tier 3 punkin king runs, the only gremlin attack I hated was the Thwacker's spin attack. Not being able to dodge that is annoying enough, but since elite mode was added they seem to use that as their primary attack. But when speed-running a level, knockers are the most annoying things of all time. They can spot you from long distances and pursue you all the way, doing funky back and forth motions along the way. When they do finally catch up to you, you have an army of knockers to deal with. The fact that they also clutter up small openings in destructible blocks make them more of a hindrance than a threat. When clearing a level, knockers are something to laugh at. When speed-running, you want them to gather under Vanaduke's mace as it hurdles down.
13) Sometimes Vanduke in third phrase - How does one avoid his fireballs with his charges while also avoiding shadow fire and charging your Strike Needle
VT. SS. SMB. Don't charge Strike Needle when you have highest threat.
Devilites are alright, although I find them a bit more difficult after the "nerf", seeing as they now stand closer to me, but still attack at the same lightning speed as they always did. But I can cope with that. Greavers, Thwackers, Gorgos and Devilites are all easily disposed of with Dark Briar Barrage.
The jelly cubes however... Sure, they may be rather mindless and easily kite-able, but as soon as I try to step around its attack... Blam, omni-directional attack in my face. I deserve a medal for the amount of times I've successfully mis-predicted their attacks.

Yep. Jelly cubes are relentless in their assault. (Iyaaa! Tomare!! Sokowo sawaruna!... wait, what?) I'm fairly sure they're the monster with the shortest cooldown between attacks.
"wait......you hate nick?" -Jungle-Sword
Jelly Nick and his entire jelly family can all go get omni-directionally %&#!$#.
I hate a few things...
Devilities: They dodge around too much, and the stuff they throw, Takes down a shadow shield in 2 hits, your health in another 2-3.
I swear the Pit Bosses spawn way more Overtimers than Yesmen. I swear it.
Gorgoes: I dont mind so much. Just attacking after their 3rd bite works.
Greavers: I just use Scorching Barrier with a shield up. Other Barrier items work though.
Trojans: Wait for their smashy attack, then FF Charge em.
Scarabs: Brandish Charge/Firestorm. Usually theyre in it and burn, or fly into it and burn.
But what I hate most...
T3 Menders:
Heal up everything else, Revive other Gremlins (Thwackers who use HP Capsules anyway), Healing Auras, and Barriers so you kill them. You also need to realise you need to take them out 1st, so you end up dodging most of the enemy fire to so, sometimes resulting in your stupid death.
Silkwings arent as bad, not as many tricks to tick me off.
The jellies. I have no problems with anything else, not a single devilite overtimer, but those things hit me no matter if I gun, bomb or sword. Jesus.
gonna have to say Roarmulus Twins. So evil, lasers are evil, sneaky scuttlebots, EVIL, EVIL, EEVVIILL!!!!!
Try Sentenza strafing/charge shots. Quiet fun as well. Also, Nightblade. Haven't used it myself, but seen it work wonders. The trick is to get them poisoned (with vials or weapons), bring em down on health, and fire away. Does that help, Edolas? Oh yeah, and if you have a masky, use the stealth ability to avoid attacks. It's amusing, watching a horde of Gremlins stop chasing you simply because you vanished....
I remembered that I really hate the damn Gorgoes cause they DESTROY my shield from full if they get bite attack off. Reason for me having troubles with Devilites and stuff is probably cause I haven't got many weapons to focus on specific enemy types apart from Jellies and Gremlins (good ol' Acheron) and the Orbs of Alchemy are kinda annoying to find (or expensive to buy). And yea T3 Menders are just annoying with so many healing abilities, including some aoe ones, and the shield. ><
Why does anyone hate the devilites?
1. The've got low health.
2. They're easily interupted by getting hit, like greavers.
3. They're cute!
4. They do low damage.
5. They're adorable!
6. Compare them with gorgos. They're like the old Alpha wolvers with shadow damage.
I'm not talking about the Overtimers now. They're smeggin ninjas. With pitch forks. And axes.
I myself hate Gorgos. And the Apocrean. And Pit Bosses. And deadnaughts. And Vanaduke. And two or more menders. Especially when you forgot to uequip your elemental weapon. And in arenas. Errrrrr...I think I actually can understand why everyone but me hates them.
Devilites,Gorgos,Trojans, the little mini monster slimes that transform into spikes,greaverr...
The Apocrea
Come on man... If you wanted me to see your place you coulda just ASKED! Don't need to touch me like that! Coulda just been like "YO dude! We got this awesome place man, it's just through the ground and all dat! We got some awesome grub, a sweet light show, and some cool tech!" BUT NOOOOOO. You have to grope me in the uncomfortable places! Also, STAHP BREATHING IN MY EAR! My god, you need help with asthma or something?
Gorgos and Mewkats.
Mewkats are broken and OP because they make it so I can't progress through the arenas when they show up. They're so adorable that I cannot kill them.
