Veteran players are likely to already have the 3 current Costume hats (Spookat, Frankenzom, Phantom), in which those who have all 3 of them end up having to choose to focus on only the Hallow Boxes or ignore the event altogether. New players can sometimes easily obtain all the items in 1 event as well, given their friends would likely provide the player extra chances to meet Pumkin King even when they struggle to find him.

I was wondering if it's possible to create 2 new types of costumes that use 2 new variants of candies. Each requires the same amount of their respective candies to collect to obtain them:

1) Gorgo Mask - Paper, Replica, and Authentic Variants - Requires Bitter Candies
2) Bombie Mask - Paper, Replica, and Authentic Variants - Requires Spicy Candies

By doing so, it could make veteran players have more options of costumes to obtain, while giving new players an incentive to team up with and make more friends so the player can obtain enough candies for their desired masks. With more candy varieties (and dropping randomly within current PK candy drop limits per encounter depending on tier), obtaining them all may result to multiple Dark Harvest events in order to collect them all (depending on the amount of time the player has to play Spiral Knights).

Love this idea. They should call the Gorgo candy bitter candy and the Bombie candy sherbet candy. What themes would the masks be? Would the Bombie one be Military themed or would the Gorgo one be Cool themed?

@Hearthstone -- Salty sounds like it would be a good option for a possible name change for the current Hard Candies.

@Skyguarder -- True, the bombie would appear as a redesigned bombhead mask, but since bombie's head isn't as round as other inspirations for bombheads (and that most masks are based on normally-obtained armor shapes), this bombhead would possibly end up being unique to the bombhead mask collection (think of it as the mix of shape of a Skelly Mask with the fuse from a bombhead costume masks).

@Neongolett -- Of the candies, I thought of what types of flavors that would match the characteristics of the creature. Gorgos actions seem crude and they sound nasty (probably due to the fact they hate being a demoted and mutated devilite), so Bitter sounded like the best fit (as sour is already used for the Phantom mask). Bombies are hostile and wants to blow it's fuse on the nearest target it sees, so that's why I thought spicy would be the best fit.
As for colors, the best Gorgo Mask colors I can think of to use on a halloween event mask may be the Fire Gorgo (Fireguts) which would be based on the primary Toasty color, or Poison Gorgos (Wasters) which would be the based on the secondary Regal color. However, I do agree with you Neon about the Bombie Color, it would work with Military color due to the color of a standard (stun) bombie is tan.

Ok. Another thing I want to ask you. Will you be able to purchase dark harvest prize boxes with Bitty and Spicy candy? If so, you should increase the rate of getting normal hallow stuff (ex: Hallow Pith Helm, etc) to 75%?

@Skyguarder -- Prize boxes would also be possible with bitter and spicy (just like with sweet, hard, and sour candies).

I also agree with your idea of increasing the odds of the common box pickups (Hallow Pith helm, etc.), as it would be necessary to keep rarer gear (Pumpkin Bomb Bandolier, Jack O' Bombhead, etc.) from becoming too common for those who mass-purchase prize boxes.

Yeah the Spicy candy makes sense for the Bombies. The reason why I suggested military was not only the primary color being tan, but the first Skelly set is military themed too. Would go well with a Skelly suit. The Gorgo mask which you suggested to be waster themed should be toxic themed instead of being based off the secondary color of regal. Toxic is a actual theme. It is used in the Toxic Bombhead Mask, and the Deadly Virulisk Set. Just like how Shadow themed things originated from the Snarbolax set.

One last thing, the reason why I was wondering about the Gorgo mask being cool themed was because of the normal non-status Gorgos being a bluish color. Don't know what the mask would actually look like, but I'd imagine the masks eye and mouth being prismatic (matching the players color).

@neongolett Just set my monitor's settings to default, and I now saw "Waster" Gorgos are a light/medium green two tone with hints of purple mixed in. From my custom settings, they looked a bit more like greenish-gold (kinda explains why I originally thought of Regal). Seems I reduced contrast too much and brightness a bit too high on my display settings to see those colors correctly. You are right to place it under "Toxic" color theme.
As for the original Gorgo color being based on "Cool" theme, that is true. However "Cool" colors to me seem more for a possible "Winterfest" costume than a "Dark Harvest" costume. If it was added in that color theme though, I think you have the idea of it's color nailed.

@waffleconecake You have another good costume idea right there, maybe if all 3 ideas were used, the candies for Greaver Mask could be "Chewy Candy" or "Powdered Candy".
