i'm not sure what to buy with 7.6kcr, i been eyeing that machine gun that npc is selling, should i go and buy that or just wait and farm cr until i can buy something better, is so what should i save towards?

don't buy it from the npc, buy energy and the recipe and make it and you'll still have it left over. Or buy one from the Auction House.
I wouldn't recommend buying that weapon anyway until later. Try looking in auction for more interesting stuff.

I advise that you do not buy from the NPCs, unless it's a recipe you want/need. Their prices are outrageous compared to what you can find in the Auction House. I learned this the hard way when I started out, when 7.5k cr that I spent on a Brandish could have gone to a Brandish, an Auto Gun, and a Wolver Set if I visited the Auction House.
Search "Auto Gun" in the Auction House (the big building in the center of Town Square), and you might find one for no more than 3,000 crowns.

A good place to start is the wiki, always keep a eye on the 5* version of the item to see how it will end and base your choice of that. The standard gear for pretty much anyone starting is the wolver set, it gives sword bonuses and has nice defence stats as well. The gunsliger sets are also a choice but require a bit of knowledge to find the set and guns that suit you.
The most common weapons to start are a brandish and a blitz needle, both are simple enough to learn and the recipes are easy to get as well. If you want to find swords that suit you better Bopp's sword guide is a great start. If you would rather take up gunning the gunslinger guide will help you out. There is also bombing but that requires quite a bit of work to reap the great rewards and someone just starting will find a hard time to progress (not saying its bad, just requires a lot of work as bombs and the gear only get good at around 4*-5*).
At this time I would say mark a few things down on what you want at 5* and work towards them. My first set was a vog set which provides sword speed bonuses and protect against fire. That is only one of many good sets you can choose from.
7.6k crowns is enough for 100 energy. I suggest buying 100 energy.
By machine gun, do you mean autogun?
