Looking through these forums over the last few weeks, its come to my attention, or came to be my opinion, that this section of the forum would be almost pointless from a "i'm a dev looking for ways to improve the game" perspective. There are too many suggestions on too many disparate topics, with too little consensus, or even feedback in general on given ideas.

Ideas/suggestions get, at best, 1-3 replies. Some really great suggestions might get 3 "oh, i agree" some might get zero replies. People with dissenting opinions might post a reply, and usually in the form of either insults, or sarcastic endorsement.

Too gather actual attention, and hope to make an effectual impact on the game, it would be in all of our best interest to do a better job of focusing our attention, streamlining how we present them, and congregating the subjects to a more centralized location. WE NEED A BETTER FORMAT. Just look through the first 3 pages, and imagine you were a developer looking for helpful suggestions! sure there are some cool, neat, or interesting threads, but really its quite the cluster.

WE NEED THESE THINGS to help the developers cut through the clutter we have created.

#1) Universal suggestion threads.
#2) interaction amongst ideas.
#3) an End to suggestions for ways to "fix" the last patch.

expounding upon each point.

#1. the suggestion for pvp thread is the perfect example. Its something that the devs can use as a tool. rather than 500 threads about pvp with 1 to 2 comments apeice. We should have a centralized thread for:
Suggestions on UVs
Suggestions on Crafting
Suggestions on PVP
Suggestions on Gameplay
Suggestions on Guilds
Suggestions on Minigames content
Suggestions on Equipment
Suggestions on features

If we had threads for these (take suggestions on UVs for example) instead of 5 random suggestions about this per page, all with 0-3 comments, we could have 20-30 comments all in one place. Same is true for all of these. Then the developers could come to the suggestion thread and say "hmmmmm, look at these threads. Are any of these aspects that we are actively looking to improve upon? Well, we know Guilds need improvement, but thats not high on the list. we'll ignore it for now. Crafting, we are satisfied with that at the moment. But we were just discussing what other mini-games/time sinks we might look into the other day, lets see what the community thinks!"

#2. We need better, thoughtful and polite support or dissent amongst the community. This will help the dev's when looking through threads to gauge what teh community wants as a whole, rather that what individual members think. If you agree or disagree with an idea, say so, but do it in a respectful manner (keeping things civil). Perhaps someone states a decent idea, but one that as a whole, just isn't popular. EX) we should get pets. No denying, its a decent idea, but i think most of us agree that pets, while cool, would just add to the clutter and make things more likely to get laggy. If the devs were thinking about adding that, and saw it in the thread, and saw that it had 10 people saying yes, and 20 people saying no, well, thats helpful. one person suggesting it and no one else commenting wouldn't help at all. Lets share our opinons on each other's ideas, rather than the natural tendency to only suggest those of our own (of course we all love our own ideas, thats why we post them. lets get a feel for how the community feels about eachother's ideas. no one person's opinion is more important than anothers' to the devs. they don't particularly know any of us. they should only care about a general consensus of opinions.)

#3. Controversial, i know. the vast majority of the community is not happy and unpleased with the changes that were made. there have been a thousand suggestions of better ways to have affected nearly the same change. Its safe to say, there have been enough good ones that if thats what the devs were looking for, they have ample ammunition to start making changes. its safe to assume, its all wasted air by now. They have their feedback, they have their verdict, they have AN INCREDIBLY CLEAR CONSENSUS of our opinions. If its going to be accepted and addressed (doesn't look likely) that it will be. At this point, its just wasted air, and wasted energy. Lets work together to try and make changes for the better where we can from here forward.

please contribute

These are just the thoughts and ideas off the top of my head. there are some intelligent and creative people in here, so lets work together here to try and perfect the suggestions forum so that its a viable tool that the DEVS WANT TO COME AND CHECK before they make any changes. Please contribute your thoughts and ideas, and lets discuss the best possible ways to make this forum the best possible suggestions forum it can be. B/c honestly, right now it kinda sucks :D
