I would make the page but I am terrible at creating wiki pages. Another thing is how would we find the damage values with these new weapons. Their attack pattern is nothing we have ever seen so figuring that out as well will be hard.

I play this game because I'm depressed and it makes me feel better about myself. If I had somewhere else to go; that is, if I had friends or people to go to or anything like that, I probably would leave.
But I don't, so I log on to Spiral Knights, and I help people beat their bosses and gather their materials. I do this, because it makes me feel like I'm worth something. And yea, I am a bit overweight. No one ever really sees me or cares though, so why does it matter?

On a positive note. Atleast OOO didn't cheap us with fable 2 weapons( where all the weapons are the same, just the names are different) The reskins are well done, weapon design look good and every weapon in the game doesn't feel out of place, each has its own niche. The UV is just an icing on the cake, don't be too critical about it.

To be honest, the new weapons are pretty cool, and practicalitaly (not a typo) new. It's not really fair to be so hard on OOO for the "new" weapons... however, it would be nice if they didn't make it sound like there would be entirely new and different weapons that were not based on anything currently in the game. If OOO (Nick) had said that there would be a new branch of a current weapon, I think there would be a lot more excited players. Threads like this one would not exist.
But, this thread is doing essentially what Nick said... this calibur is not "identical" to the base model. While being a true statement, I would be rather disappointed to buy a recipe, craft the thing, and find out it's pretty much the same as my other calibur.
Nick, OOO, just be slightly more open with us. I think you will find a lot more devotion and support from the community... $0.02

Yes, it is a joke about something Nick said, but its more to point out how ridiculous this whole situation is.
Basically, Nick goes on and says "24 ENTIRELY NEW.." Now, there obviously won't actually be 24 ENTIRELY NEW anything. Without having to see any spoilers I knew that some of those ENTIRELY NEW things would be from the middle of an alchemy line, and would only be relevant for the 3-4 hours that I spent heating/upgrading them. Some of them are probably reskins with status effects/different damage types. I mean, they could all be actual new mechanics that freshen up the game, but I just can't see it happening.
Others go on and post about it and receive a defense from a GM of some sort, saying "Technically he didn't lie and something new will be added, so you're wrong have a nice day." which kind of ignores the entire point of the message and skates around it completely. Bottom line is that I feel as though most of the people on the forums are treated as though they're completely unintelligent.
If "new weapons" are like the Obsidian gear- differences of a status effect/damage- and must be always seen as 100% new and unique, then doesn't that effect UVs? Is that what I'm expected to believe, that my gear is actually unique from all other gear because of a slime low uv?
Which is ridiculous because we've got several people wasting their life away filling out damage values from a wiki and disecting numbers into formulas, coming up with perfectly good ideas on how to fix the balance issues- many of which do for a fact work with the current engine perfectly... their points are not trivial- chaos and mad bomber; acheron and gran faust, iron slug and supernova, but still go almost completely ignored.
I find this to be very interesting, because perhaps they do not come here to have fun? This certainly isn't the first time this has happened. Perhaps they come here for another reason? I mentioned feeling depressed; could this be the purpose of the game? To feed on our depression like a leech until we are done and ready to be banned for... whatever They feel like assigning us as our reason?

Interesting Ideas
First of all, let it be known that I already think Fehzor is awesome. Helping people when you think nobody helps you is pretty noble. I understand that feeling. :)
Next, this 24 New thing... I dont believe it. The way I see it, its another spinoff of already existing gun lines. Wildfire, I wanna bet thats a fire pulsar. Gilded Griffin, thats prob a piercing antigua. But you cant always tell. All I can say is, its probably nothing truly new.
@Fehzor, on your point on the important-ness of the individuals dissecting the strategy of our game, I agree. Its not to be treated lightly, especially if you're a hardcore Spiral Knight. I'm interested in the statistics to see how well they would work with my style. We shouldnt be ignoring all those who make the wiki possible.
The thing with the UV's, i dont like them. They're way too rare for their own good, and they sometimes dont even help. My friend got a Gremlin Damage Bonus: LOW UV on a silversix. That is useless. If OOO was a bit more open with us, and let us on to more of what they were doing, we'd be a lot more into this. But they dont, which leaves us somewhat bored and wondering. Oh, and they should fix the UV rate too. XD
But I cant wait for the gunner update. I'm a natural swordie, who loves to bomb when he can. But as a mostly-hardcore Spiral Knighter, I'd love to try out the new gun lines.
About these caliburs, though, i'm seriously wondering how well that UV would work with some sets.

Interestingly, the UVs were in fact intended to be... well, Unique Variants. Whether they function in that way is a bit more than questionable.

I finally farmed for these 3 new weapons.
And I noticed they all did the same dps while wearing my chaos + barb thorn shield.
I literally can't tell the difference between them. What gives? I even tried to find a difference on charge attacks - like the difference between my combuster and voltedge. I think you're lying to us, Fehzor. They sure seem indifferent to me - even aesthetically.
On a more serious note: I'm surprised that this thread has not been removed or graveyarded yet. It is obvious satire. Disagreement on a topic (such as announcement hints towards new content) is fine. Talk about that. Don't wait 17 posts (and almost 2 weeks) into your own thread to show your motives are to belittle something Nick posted as an announcement.
I've noticed a sharp decrease in Mod/Dev posts in the entirety of the forums since that announcement. Is it because there are too many vocal posters out to belittle every word they say? No one likes an angry cat. You just stay away from it until it calms down. They're most likely saving themselves from rage-posts from the currently disgruntled community.

It's not quite clear what the purpose of this topic is about, if it isn't about either the three UV'd brandishes being new weapons (which they aren't) or being a satire. Please clear this up for me. Keep in mind - The reason for my post is a warning before the mods decide that they don't like this thread because belittling either players or staff members is against the rules.
The third paragraph in post #22 is my opinion. I have no hard evidence past my own personal anecdotal.
I am not telling you what to place in your threads. I am suggesting that you either follow forum rules or clarify your intentions.
