Here is what I was thinking:

Instead of using crystalized heat to level items, we could instead use it for UV's. When an item is ready to be upgraded instead of just using the alchemy machine, knights can go to the anvil near the barracks and use crystal heat on an item there. Crystalized heat will not guarantee a UV but will increase the chance to receive one (max chance 60% or 65%). Keep in mind this only works for ONE unique variant.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

No. The forge is there for a good reason: To limit progression. If it's like this, people progressing will not really see its use. It either has to be there or we need limited levels back. Take your pick.

Can you elaborate on that?

Can you elaborate on that? What do you mean limited levels?

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

seems you weren't here for long.
once upon a time (about 5 months ago) you had mist energy. mist was free and you would have got the maximum (100) in 22 hours. also, elevator costed 10 energy to operate.
the forge was to balance free elevators. how do you balance that?

Mist energy

Before the forge, we had an energy system where every floor cost 10 energy to progress. Players had rechargeable mist energy that would accumulate to a maximum of 100 energy every 22 hours. We used energy to craft items, to revive, and a few other things. Now, we have free elevators, free revives, and free crafting. We can play the game as long as we want every day. To prevent players from completing the game so quickly (you could pay a little money and suddenly be ahead of someone who played for months) they added the forge. This made the game last longer, while being nicer to new players.

Edit: someone answered before me.

Everyone has great counterpoints

But the five star crystals need to drop more often

@arkate

if you're trying to correct someone's spelling, it's actually "Rebuttals"

@aotr

They only drop from the boxes after defeating Vanaduke. Not a viable solution.

@Isaac

I have no issue with the forge system itself, it's the lack of 5*crystals that is currently causing the issues. Otherwise, it works fine. Orbs drop semi-regularly, and without mist, you can make all the money you want. If you don't have enough orbs, they are simple enough to buy. This truly made the game free to play, if someone is willing to invest the time.

Increase the drop rate of forge prize boxes.
"Problem" solved.

I agree with the main premise

I agree with the main premise that the 5* heat system is busted in it's current state. There is no excuse for the administration to alter drop rates before instituting a new method of getting them. The only reliable method they have right now is, conveniently, the supply depot or shadow lairs (which are tied to the supply depot). Fishy, huh?

If that's not the case, please correct me OOO.
