Getting real tired of this destroying stuff when I'm done with it.
Bechamel should be able to craft costumes and unbind accs without destroying.
Aye, MULTIPLE times, in fact. Still no response.
I'd be happy to be able to unbind costume pieces; a friend of mine likes Valkyrie helmets and I have a storm one that I dont like anymore and would like to gift to him. BUT NOPE, GONNA BE STUCK FOREVER WITH IT, ARENT I?
@Burq: You could always vendor it for 1 crown.
Another thing about this, what the crap is up with the fact that when I buy the wrong recipe by accident, I can't even get a refund? The vendors tried to give me 50 cr for a recipe I didn't need.
I think this post should be in the suggestions forum.
[In Three Ring's office]
Scirio: Oh hey, Three Rings. You know all that money you're making off people buying up promotional items because they know that there'll only be a limited number of them due to the accessories and costumes being single use and bind on equip?
Three Rings: Yeah? What about it?
Scirio: I've got a great new idea to stop that.
[Three Rings walks over to the window and opens it]
Three Rings: The third-story window is now open. You can go willingly or by force
If you have problems buying the wrong recipe. You can also try using your eyes to see which recipe you buy before you get it. That way you won't waste cr.
This would completely destroy the market for accessories and costumes.
When has OOO ever shown that they cared about the player's market, and not their own financial interests?
Are we forgetting that godly sale of the Guardian's Armor pack when it was $10? Or the more recent one with those cheap Prismatic Accessories?
I bought the Guardians Armor Pack for $40.
4 days laters, it went on sale for $20.
You stink, OOO.
I'm totally with you, Hexzy. A solvent F2P game where people only spend money on cosmetics and do it willingly--that is always the ideal situation. Before, energy-buying was necessary for the livelihood of the game; now, it's more of a convenience, a fast-track currency that is in and of itself not particularly special. We are on our way to Utopia. Once OOO figures out how to make do without ransoming Radiant Fire Crystals, we will virtually be there.
@Bitsbee--I missed the $10 sale. I waited a whole year for it to come back and finally gave in at a $20 sale. I remember using a website to track sales for the DLC, but I can't find it now.
@Scirio
You don't think very much, do you?
Unbinding accessories would severely cripple the accessory market. Not good. Also, it would be silly since it would make OOO lose money from players who make moronic decisions all the time on what to put their accessories on and then deciding it looks dumb despite not having the smarts to preview it before binding it.
Also, once again, TRY TO THINK. There is a button (f5) to check what recipes you have at all times. Its so people know beforehand what recipes they need and don't need.
Use your head.
I wouldn't suggest this if I wasn't fully convinced that OOO does not care about the economy or balance of the game.
I.e. valk/dragon wings/halo promo, acheron buff, nearly no radiant shards, etc etc.
My point being, they have clearly shown they do not care. So I feel no reason why they should right now, the market is dead anyway. Might as well make costume unbindable. Wouldn't matter much if you ask me. The random supply depot items aren't making things better either.
You obviously didn't account for more than your own opinion, but I don't blame your narrow minder view. It's cool.
Once again, try using your head. Saying that OOO didnt care before now and shouldnt care now is not very intelligent.
Unbinding accessories that you dont like based on your poor judgment is completely your fault, not OOO's. Can't uave people baby you throgh life, right?
Only possible thing I would like is unbindin costumes, like bombheads or rare rat hat chapeaus and rag tabbards. This would actually expand the maet, so I would be for this. But accessories? Nah
EDIT: Wait, are you talking about costumes now or accessories? Because they don't sell costumes in SD, and costumes don't get any use from bechamel.
Moral of the story, think carfully when you are attaching an accessory. Use preview to see the look and comapre it with others, then make the ultimate decision.
I've refused to use any accessories after my original Pumpkin Bandolier because of how asinine the current system is. If I put a random badge on, why in the world should it need to be destroyed just to remove it? Let Bechamel be able to remove accessories without destroying them, and make it cost Crowns or CE: that generates an additional revenue stream for OOO, and it lets people actually freely choose to change their looks if they're willing to pay. Hell, keep the accessories bound to the player after removing them, but at least let us be able to keep them.
The Wiki says that if you make an accessory mistake once, you can report to the GMs and they will fix the matter for you straight away.
Making this change would, among other things mentioned in this article (most of which are pretty obviously bad for OOO), reduce the special aspect of putting an accessory on at all. When you put on a valuable acc, it's a weighty decision that you could easily regret. It makes using and seeing others with them all that much more special. If unbinding were very affordable, accessories themselves wouldn't be that amazing to see (and there would be no high-end market for cosmetic stuff unless it remained really rare). If unbinding were not affordable, it wouldn't change very much except quitting giveaways and availability of a handful of very old things.
Considering that 'rare, one time only items' seem to be popping up in the supply depot and featured auctions, don't be surprised if the accessory/costume system got totally reworked someday.
Also, consider the following:
Skolver/Vog cap, coat - supply depot 3500E each. Hell no.
Divine/Volcanic tail, wings etc.. - supply depot more than 3500E each. TAKE ALL MY MONEY
I believe people have suggested paying CE to not destroy an accessory on removal before.
