What do you formuers think of it?
Candlestick keep new music
It fits well in my opinion, gives the feeling that you are being stalked and chased by Grimalkins all time.
The Graveyard/Undead theme is too eerie for Candlestick Keep, so i approve this new change in the music.
It's tied with the lichenous lair theme as my favourite theme in the game.
I actually made a thread like this like a month back. Heck, even Harry himself posted on it.
I'm not sure about it tbh. The music itself I love. However, it screams "I'M PANICKING" way too much. The intro is a bit too chaotic for my taste. I prefer the parts where the lower tones take over.
I recently played a candlestick level and was kinda blown away. The music is way more instense and fit's it perfectly. I am totally a fan.
I'm so glad the Candlestick Keep got new music. This kind especially brings out a much better and more accurate reaction than the graveyard theme.
Candlestick Keep theme before tells us: Welcome to a dark, boring, and dreary place. Not much goes on here except the crying of your poor miserable knight walking down corridors filled with unseen evils but not a threat to be found. And don't mind the Grimalkins chasing you at all times, they mean you no harm what so ever.
The new them says: AGGGGHHHHHH!!! Giant unkillable kats that can bite through your shield in a single blow! There is no escape and undead hide around every next turn! Your only hope for survival is quick feet, fast thinking, good teamwork, and a little bit of luck.
It's just so much more fitting now.
The place is clearly abandoned and leisurely inhabited by the undead, by that sense the ambiant theme of the Graveyard has far more synergy with the Candlestick Keep setting than the new track.
That Grimalkins appear at every turn and look out for you relentlessly is a highlight of the levels for sure, but the music being composed about that specifically makes the experience feel too chaotic. It's not to say that I don't enjoy this piece, though, I just prefer the immersion of treading on haunted grounds and being exposed to incoming danger under natural tension given the context.
What the heck?
I just realised I don't really pay attention to music at all while I'm playing the game (that's probably why I can listen to the same crap on loop for ages without getting sick of it)
Just started listening to the music from the files now... it's nice. Nice to start paying attention to things that for two thousand hours I had been ignoring.
The new Candlestick Keep has that marching beat that's familiar from one or two of the other themes. Shock? Was it? I can't remember. No wait, it was the Fiend theme. Same crescendo style music and bump-badump marching beat.
uff, there was a thread like this here somewhere...
well, anyway. I guess Harry really runs around in circles in candlestick keeps.
