lockdown changes

as much as i believe that spiral knights is in no way made for balanced PVP i still love playing lockdown.

while ive been playing lockdown ive decided some changes should be made to make it a bit more balanced.

mainly the striker class... this class is overused and in the way its used it is OP.

the change that i believe needs to be made is simply to make it so that strikers cant attack directly after coming out of a boost. maybe place a 1 second delay between boosting then attacking.

this change would keep strikers from hunting down the other slower classes by simply boosting then slashing then boosting then slashing repeatedly till they go down.

this is also an ability exploited by strikers to find recon's that have cloaked. rather than try to predict where the recon is going a striker will instead randomly perform the "boost-strike" technique in the area the recon was seen cloaking until they find him.

i strongly think that if this "nerf" was added to the striker class it would greatly change the game of lockdown and most likely not make the striker so over powered.

the defender class i think needs to have its shield buffed so as not to break in 2 hits, which is usually the case against many 5* swords.

and as for the recon i think that it needs to have a movement speed increase while cloaked this would make for better getaways and easier to be undetected.

now im sure people who read this will think that i absolutely hate the striker class and im gonna tell you that you are correct. but i only hate it because of how people use it and the way it is right now.

i would ask that you die-hard striker users use one of the other classes for a day and see what i mean when facing a striker.

Balance classes, yes!

Seeing how there's supposed to be a little game of rock paper scissors in lockdown (recon> guardian> striker> recon) I agree either the strikers should be nerfed or the other classes buffed. Maybe not so much as adding new mechanics such as the attack delay, but maybe give strikers universal status weaknesses and give recon a shield MSI of low.
If new mechanics are implemented, make it so guardians don't flinch. That alone could prevent striker hell.

  • First, do something about heart trinkets. That's the #1 reason why strikers are OP. Without heart trinkets, strikers die in 2 hits at most from just about anything. At such a level of health, their incredible speed and power are entirely fair.
  • Either remove trinkets from LD entirely, or make strikers have a 50% reduction to all sources of health rather than a flat -3.
  • Also strikers currently have 5 health in T3 Lockdown. What the crap, OOO? They're supposed to have 2.
  • Universal status weakness is a good idea as well. -medium to everything, including stun.
  • Flinch resistance to guardian.
  • Should be good.

i totally forgot about trinkets...
