Hi there,

I feel like there should be more to do in this game rather than pve or pvp. That's why I'm taking on a n y challenge you guys can think of. Not because I want to prove I'm the best nor for fame. Just for fun, should be interesting to see what kind of challenges you guys can come up with. Here's how it works, you come up with a challenge I should complete, we both place a bet, I do the challenge and the the winner gets all. This can be anything, want me to kill a trojan with a proto gun without a shield in FSC faster than you for 50kcr? Sure! Just an example.

Participating in these challenges will only help you improve as a player and will account for some fun rather than mindless grinding through levels. If enough interest is shown I can update the challenges and the results on the forums.

Oh, and just for the record. No, I will not take on a challenge to fight a GM with a banstick. That stuff hurts. Bad.

I'm assuming the proto gun trojan kill has to be done without unique variants, trinket, or a bonus of any kind right? Just a normal default proto gun? If your interested here:

default proto solo dauntless (danger rooms included)
3 star solo (no damage uv's or bonuses) or duo shadow lair

just putting suggestions, not participating cuz betting on the internet when the other might not be trustworthy is sketchy

Mhm.

1. You only pay if you lose.

2. If I lose and can't complete the challenge I pay.

3. That's how bets work.

4. The challenge can be anything, so you can participate in it yourself, for example: a 1v1 in LD, speedrun fsc, boss runs, etc etc.

5. Completing player based challenges is more fun and lets you improve more if you have someone to compete against, so if you feel like you lack a certain skill, feel free to challenge me in that area so you can improve.

Midnight DJ's valkyrie ascension challenge. Just a suggestion, a fallen like you can use some purification.

Okay, i know, there is probably someone out there who already done UFSC with full fallen set already(cough..Vokster...cough). So here is a new challenge, wear only seraphic sets and any weapon of your choice. Prepare all the stuff needed to craft the heavenly iron armor set. Then go through UFSC with a team of your own choice (duo, solo, full team, your choice). After reaching the sancturary(unknow passage must be done in full seraphic as well), craft those seraphic set into heavenly iron, thus the challenge is completed.

Record the run into a video (you might need some help from volkster and what not) and show it to me(on Utube), I will bet 40K that you will die atleast eight times (include ER), if you die less than that, you win the bet. But if the video is cut off and is resumed from a different point, sorry, no money for you coz there is chance of you cheating.

Other requirement: -display your loadout at the start of the video so I know you are not just wearing it as costume
-no Chaos/BKC, I HATE IT! If anyone in your team is wearing it as costume or armor, I will reduce the bid down to 20K
-a true valkyrie does not hang out with feral beasts or vile ghosts, a seraphynx is his only friend (you seraphnyx's perk is your choice)
-you have to kill all the trolljans on your own, your teammate can only support you with freeze, you have to be the one who does the final blow
-after it is done, meet me at haven and wear the heavenly iron armor you crafted as your armor(not costume). I have to be sure you don't just shelf it into your arsenal and let it collect dust and return to your evil former self. And even if you did loose, you will still get a new set of armor (that is, if you never crafted heavenly iron armor)
-no trinkets/modules, just like how I played this game until now, those stuffs are too mainstream.

Too hard? well, if it is not hard it won't be a CHALLENGE right?

I challenge you to figure out how damage is calculated once defence > damage/2. I'll give you 100k CR and I won't even attempt it myself. I'm sure Zeddy would suggest the same so I'm sure he will stand for 50k CR if you succeed but I'll naturally pay if he does not.

Doing runs in proto gear isn't hard... It's just tedious. It takes a while, you have to play really safe, and everything takes an eternity to kill.

Here's an interesting challenge

I'm not going to try to make it ridiculous because it's just something you should try to do anyways:
Deal at least 1000 damage (2000 if you're a striker), cap at least one point (two if you're a recon) in a game of 6v6 random team tier 3 lockdown without taking damage AND not having any universal damage bonus greater than "high". Now if you get measurably higher amounts of damage or caps, I'll find some money to throw your way. If you really need money to make you at least try, I'll scrounge up 3 to 5k. But remember: you can't take damage. Hiding in the spawn room after you get your caps and damage is fair, but I'll give you 2k if you stay on the battlefield the entire time.

Recording this via video is basically the only way I'll actually pay up, but if you tell me you did it without video evidence, then I'll at least give you a high-five.

I bet you 800 energy, 10.000 crowns, a lockbox and 2 celestial ore that you can't fullrun fsk (plus boss) in proto gear. Technicaly the perfect knight can finish any level without taking any hits, let's see how close you are to that. You may only use 3 sparks of life per floor, plus the free revive.
If you die, more than 3 times in a floor you lose. You may use up to 7 sparks in the boss room. (You may bring a team of anyone you want, as long as they are using proto gear) also, inspect everyone so I know you didn't cheat. No costumes, bring any shield you want, but armor and weapons, proto only. You may use any trickets you want, EXEPT health trinkets.

I don't know if it is too hard for you or for anyone generaly.

Upload the vid on youtube, and at the start of the run, say my name. Ellthan-Cosmolion so I know you didn't use a prerecored vid (I am 99% sure there is 1 floating about). I would stick along but my internet will just make things harder for you.

Send me a message on my main account to tell me whether you accept it or not.

EDIT: You may use a battle sprite for damage.

So... you want a challenge, eh? My guild, Embersteel, requires any veteran to pass what we call an "Act of Heroics".

Here are two delightfully devilitish ones for you to try out (both of which have actually been passed):

Mission:
Lair of the beast
Loadout:
Proto Armour
Proto Helm
Hot Edge.
Restricted slots:
No shield
No trinkets
No sprite
Only one weapon slot
Additional instructions:
Elite Difficulty.
To be completed solo.
No death permitted - death is failure.
Consumption of healing items or hearts, even by accident, results in failure. Be careful not to get too close to hearts. Vitapods are fully permitted.
No use of pills, vials, shields, or other dungeon pickups permitted. Any use of such items results in failure.
All destructible articles must be destroyed. This includes normally indestructible blocks contactable with Ghost Blocks.
Beast cages must not be destroyed via Ghost Block.
In the first level, mobile enemies may only be killed while inside a lock in room. All enemies must be killed during lock in.
In the second level, no mobile enemies may be killed initially. There is no way to herd enemies into the lock in room at the end of the level without a shield. As such, during the initial phase, only the four wolvers and two alpha wolvers that spawn in the bell room may be killed. No other casualties are permitted. Once these wolvers are killed, all mobile enemies capable of being spawned and herded into the bell chamber must be herded. Once all mobile enemies are inside the perimeter, all enemies must be killed. All enemies in the proceeding chamber are to be herded forward into the lock in room, and killed during lock in. All enemies must be killed.
Boss is optional.
Turrets may be killed where they spawn in all levels.

All rooms that do not require energy to access must be accessed. Any room requiring energy to access may be skipped at your discretion.

Let me know how you go. I have a long list of possible challenges, if you can overcome those two :P

It takes about 10 minutes for a proto gun to kill one zombie, so your challenge is physically impossible.

This is my original comment.

Fight all of FSC in 0 star gear with no sprite, or vitapods. You cant use a shield nor can you use trinkets and it must be done on elite with me watching and with no deaths. You must kill all enemies and fight vanaduke at the end and it must be done solo with me as your only person in the party to see. If you win I'll unbind my vog coat (which is purdy damn sexy if you see it) and hand it over to you.

PS E revives count as a death and lag is not an option for compromise.

Also, since you guys are so keen on not joining me and have me record it, any suggestions for video recording software? And don't say fraps, for some reason my fps drops substantially while using it.

Ah the age old question

First off, I will assume you use a windows PC because you mentioned fraps works but not to the greatest extent. There are various other screen recorders, but the good ones will cost money, sometimes far out of a reasonable budget. I believe manycam has a screen recording function, and various streaming tools let you record your session. Twitch is the first one to come to mind, but I've used Ustream in the past and it's not too bad. Screen recorders will almost always lag your game at least a bit, especially on older computers. Turning off background applications will help as well as having a good amount of hard drive space.

To all of you requesting video footage of time consuming challenges, the challenge itself will not be as hard as having the hard drive space. Depending on your recording, an hour of footage could be 3/4 of your hard drive.

And for the future, what are your computer specs and average connection? Is your framerate steady? How often do you encounter lag spikes? These are helpful for creating challenges that you can accomplish and are on par with your system - skill over specs basically.

Mhm.

I used to have a horrible single core pc. But I got sick of it and built an overkill 6-core or hexacore AMD based system, seeing as this is AMD based, it's still fairly cheap for the specs I have, nonetheless it's a beast and my baby at the same time.

BF3, Skyrim, Planetside 2 all maxed out without any issues.

Although my internet connection is the equivalent of 2 cans with a string between them at times and since SK uses cardboard servers and the matchmaking is most likely managed by a toddler with a crayon up his nostril, a day without lag is nothing short of a miracle.

Anyway, I'll try out twitch, thanks. Before we get any further off topic, carry on with the challenge spams, I'm already doing a few of them.

p.s. Grindfests/heat fests/using proto weapons to kill a lot of enemies is NOT a challenge. It's just time consuming.

I also challenge you to kill Snarb and The Twins with only an ash and no sprite, just like I did, or Vana with only a tempest if you're really as bored as you say, that whole run should kill a couple hours quite easily.

Elthan's challenge really isn't so bad, considering that you'd still have your battle sprite to use. It'd be boring and difficult to upload, but its definitely doable. He just needs to up the anty a bit- I could probably earn 800 CE+2 SL materials+whatever in like, half the time it'd take me to beat FSC with just my battle sprite+proto gear. The trinkets+sprite skill would be hot blooded/fire resistance (which would let you tank a hit), the shield would be volcanic plate, and the sprite would be probably masqueraith.

You may use any shield and sword you want BUT the gun must be proto (I am not that horrible a person)
You must be in FULL proto armor. And you may use only the first sprite skill.

Wolver Herding Challenge

Back in Aurora, I thought of the idea where you gathered all the wolvers in GWW and took a photo at the elevator that displayed all the wolvers you gathered on both floors. The trick is...they're some wolvers you NEED to kill to get to the end, but try doing that when you have +10 of them in a single room, all of them flopping and dashing around. It's chaotically fun and dangerous. I don't remember how many there are in total that can be transported to the end safely, I'd have to check myself.

You can use any weapon except freezing vaporizer, static capacitor, or haze bomb lines, you musn't die even once, and all of the wolvers that can be carried to the end must be present. You can do this with a party as well.
