So I saw someone on trade channel advertising "WTB Graviton Vortex Recipe"

I've been doing some t3 runs to hunt recipes to resell because crafting is no longer an option.. so I messaged the guy and asked him how much he's paying, since I could pick the recipe up and sell it to him.

The gentleman goes "50k"
Which was suprisingly high.. and also funny because current AH has one that's buy out for 35k :)

Didn't want to scam his money so I told him AH has it for something much cheaper.
..And the conversation ends as " You're dumb. Buy it noob or shut up. If it's really there then buy it and sell it to me!"

IMO? That's his recipe he's trying to "sell"

Lesson of the day peeps: Don't get greedy :)
And if you're really into buy & resell, don't get that graviton vortex recipe for awhile :D

Well

I don't get what you're trying to say? Are you saying that the guy doesn't want to use the auction house or can't? Have you asked? and If he can't, why aren't you buying it and selling it to him? If he's offering 50k to buy the recipe, so be it, it's his lost.

and since you have wasted his time, I don't see a good whole reason he would call you a noob and get angry because there are many others whom are more than willing to sell it to him for 50k.

It's more like he's trying to buy.

And yes I would like to see the screenshot, you don't have to edit it, there's nothing to hide, unless there is.

he is suggesting

the guy is trying to sell the recipe in the auction house for 35k andy crying in tradechat WTB [RECIPE] 50K.

OP buys recipe from AH, and then this guy disappears without ever buying the recipe back from him the 50k.
thats how i took it.

edit:
and don't be greedy buying THAT recipe from the AH thinking to resell it for 50k, b/c its probably a something of a scam.

forum rules does not allow to

forum rules does not allow to display player's conversations without both party's consent.
And obviously after telling me to shut up and calling me a noob, i doubt he'll give me his consent.

I guess screenshots it is.. i'll upload them now

Do these forums not allow imgs..? i've been trying to post this in HTML/BBS w/e and it just wouldn't show up........

And nahh I didn't buy the recipe, I thought for a second to do it but I decided to be nice and let him know instead... and my reward was being told to 'shut up' and called "nub" /tear

Lol

Yea it's definitely an interesting method.
This forum doesn't allow img html to be posted.
Posting the direct link would be good.
There's a forum rule for that O.o
but I'll only sell if I already have the recipe, that'll probably catch the attention of some hasty merchant.

BBS doesn't work on this

BBS doesn't work on this forum. Below the box where you're editing your message it clearly says you can use <a> tags. Other than that, you can just paste the links and they should turn into clickable links (without the BBS crap around it).

It's been rather easy to scam

It's been rather easy to scam people in this game since the beginning (Note: I myself do not, but that doesn't mean I can't look at things and be like, ''Oh man, someone could totally scam people with this.'')

Whether it's ''I'll craft this for you, just supply mats! :D'', or this method stated in this topic. He could have gotten away with it easier because auctions don't list who exactly is putting the item up for sell, and if he wasn't a total moron and didn't give away that that item in auction might have been his own, or a friend's (Trying to net profits to share with them or something).

This game demands you do hustles for Crown/Energy, so scamming is sure to pop up since that's their way of doing their hustles.

lolwut?

I'd say the contrary is true. And your example "hey gimme something, I'll give you something back later" can be done in any game. That's not specific for SK at all.

There is no real way to "scam" people in SK, other than making them give you stuff in the trade window without trading anything back. At that point, if no alarm bells start ringing in your head, it's kinda your own fault. I don't even call that scamming.

What I would call scamming is making someone do something which doesn't obviously give you benefits, or doesn't obviously cost them something, and then it turns out it does. Trading something without immediately getting something in return is too obvious to be a scam.

This game demands you do hustles for Crown/Energy

Interesting statement. I'd love to see you back this one up... I've never felt the need to hustle for crowns/energy. Why would the game be demanding this of me? (FYI: I'm a free player, haven't paid $$$ yet.)
