Everybody thought they would go up in price after the promotion, but how did they go down? :O
I personally invested in them, and now im dirt poor with a bunch of pieces in my inventory. Maybe its time to quit for a year LOL. But then again, OOO will probably do another promotion with em xD
*sigh* I wonder how Rose Regalia items got so cheap
Ya woulda thought it was going to inflate after the promotion was over. i'm trying to get rid of a tabard white and black. and yet i bought a white hat b/c its buy now price was 15k. 15,000! soooooooo freaking cheap i bought it even tho i don't want it.
@philidor I'll buy that hat for 15k if you don't want it. :P
There's a few different factors when it comes to the value of ''rares'' like the Regalia Set Pieces.
1: These items usually only attract the Crown/Energy of a collector.
2: Selling for major profit depends on how soon you sell, most times. Sometimes selling too soon is a bad idea because the market still has a ''decent'' amount of them. Over time the amount diminishes and they -might- be worth more. I say might because (Points to 3)
3: The want and/or demand for the item has to still be there for it to be valuable. I could have some ultra rare item, but if it's not that great, or maybe it's too ugly and nobody wants it, etc, then there won't be much demand, therefore not much value. Rarity isn't the only factor in how to price something; it helps, usually, but not always.
In the case of Regalia, people wanted it because it was new and shiny. The looks of it honestly isn't too amazing, and a lot of in-game equipment looks better in my opinion. In the future it's highly likely, like in many MMOs, that somewhere along the lines these items will be totally worthless because there's much more gear out then that looks awesome.
@Loki - I half agree and half disagree. I foresee the price being low, but when pieces actually sell they will sell for high. I myself have the full set and am holding onto some extras with the intent of selling them to someone who likes them as much as I do. When that happens I'll profit highly. The Tabard may not look great compared to some others (I'm personally wearing Vog Vub), but the Chapeau is a very nice show piece that will attract the attention of people with loose wallets.
@Ginzaki:
That's actually what I'm saying in my post. The value also has to do with the fact that people still want it at all, and of course there might be someone who really wants the equipment in the future, regardless of what else might be in the market at the time.
If people really want something, they get it. The only thing I'm trying to say is that different things can happen to influence the price of goods, whether it increases them or decreases them.
@Ichiban2Go
Let me get this straight...
1. You buy enough $10 energy sets to get several Rose items.
2. As a byproduct of this you also get the Thousands upon Thousands of CE you bought. (You know, the blue stuff that came with the items?)
3. Because you cannot sell your items you are now automatically poor.
I don't even...
If anyone has a black hate they want rid of, I'll buy
@ RXrenesis
First of all, i never said i invested in the items with REAL money. I only bought one 10$ energy set
i did business and i multiplied that 1 hat i got for free into several more pieces without losing money.
In other words, by spending 10$, i got several pieces without losing anything.
And its been a couple weeks, so the CE i bought is gone now
it took me 6 months to sell off for the best price some Halloween event only items from another game... these kinds of items are like long term investments.
I agree with Arterra. When the player base builds back up and a lot of new players see others with chapeau's, you can bet there will be several with fresh bought CE wanting one. Will take time, though.
Another thing to consider is that if they make promotions like the Rose Regalia commonplace you also might find that the demand for Rose Regalia items never goes back up as high as it originally was.
"Everybody thought they would go up in price after the promotion, but how did they go down? :O"
If too many people buy something to resell it, the price eventually crashes.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania for what happens in an ultra-super-crazy-mega-extreme instance of this sort of thing.
1. they're ugly
2. they're the next rarest thing after vog set
3. they're functionally useless
Luden .. You always seem to give very negative/unneeded replies. -_-"
1. Thats ur opinion. Lots of ppl i know like how they look
2. Right now they are. They can omly get rarer
3. Its a costume. Its function is to look good. I think its working for many LOL
Edit: okay so its the next rarest thing to vog cub. Vog cub set is going for 6-8k ce for a set. You fail luden LOL
Personally I can't stand the chapeaus but like the tabards fine. So cute and edgy~

I've been talking about the frequency of appearance in game, not prices or whether its being sold.
In your sense proto sword would be the most valuable asset in game coz it cant be bought no matter how rich you are.
Great way to interpret and contradict urself with an edit. I don't need to further mock you by stating the differences in functionality between the two do i?
However I wont blame you for your failure to intake information, categorize, and make reasonable and logical analysis, computers are meant to help people out, and certain people with mental issues do benefit from it, but sadly the adverse effect is bringing these people to the world of normals.
You started an unneeded thread whining bout how your investments turned bad, and when I elaborate by stating obvious facts, you whine about my comments being overly negative. Why do you whine all day?
Or were you expecting someone equally handicapped to praise and kiss ur ass by responding:
yea man, they should totally be worth 20k ce each, although they do practically nothing, and people spam trade chat every 30 sec trying to dump them for 1k, i'll still buy for 20k ce coz im amazing.
Who says im whining? im just curious. You make things overly complicated :P
ichiban2g0, have you sold this since you made this post?

well you didnt really state obvious facts to perhaps stop posting.
If anyone of you wants to get rid of a black / red chapeau then i will be more than happy to buy it.
Just send me a message in-game.
In game name is: Gazille-Redfox.
I'm gonna hang on to mine, and if necessary sell in a long time from now, probably sell big by Christmas time :)
I think the real problem was that the promotion worked too well. Too many people just flat out bought and traded for the pieces they wanted immediately. The demand for them, therefore has gone down greatly.
Expect it to go back up a bit when a lot of new people join. I Mean its only been a few weeks. give it time for something like this where every was easily able to get it if they paid a price.
