Too much combat-orientation: OOO, you have amazing artwork. Why not showcase it in a non-combative mission?

People have been complaining about rampant boredom; monsters are too easy even on Elite, Radiants have fallen into a Plot Hole, etc. Sure, there are some good suggestions about improving monster AI (Luguiru, for one. He actually did something nice! THE END IS NIGH), but they take forever to program in, especially with the hundreds needed to make SK even vaguely challenging for us players who have gotten used to monster tactics.

Instead of a combat orientated mission, I propose that we have other ones with different themes. No, not status effect or monster themes. Put your Lucerne Hammers of Trolling away. I hypothesize it to follow a general guideline as thus:

We have Biotechs, who do research around the clock, discovering new monster information. The thing is, we don't know HOW they can study the monsters. After all, the scientists need a specimen of the species to study, don't they? I propose having knights go out into the field and try to capture monsters for study and analysis. It makes sense both strategically and boredom-wise. Strategically speaking, knowing more about your enemies can only lead to good. Unless it's something horrifying that'll destroy morale. That could happen. Boredom-wise, it would introduce a new level of gameplay; instead of LOUDLY STOMPING AROUND IN THE MONSTER TERRITORY LIKE A BUNCH OF HAIRY GORILLAS HAVING A FOOD FIGHT WITH OVERSIZED BANANAS, you'd quietly sneak around, and get to see how monsters react to each other. This could incorporate some of Thinslayer's ideas of being idle, like Gremlins talking to each other, Wolver pack hierarchy, how slimes replicate, etc.

JUST TO MAKE THIS CLEAR: I am not an idiot who pretends to accept criticism and then is all "I'm right. You ARE ALL MORONS". Be as harsh as you want, but at least make the arguments logical.

So this is basically similar to Pokemon?

Nope.

Who ever said you were only capturing them? You could also just observe them in their natural habitat. Maybe you could have to stay in an area for a certain amount of time without detection to gather your intel, and then slink away like a feisty anaconda. Besides, Pokemon has you throw the captured things out at more things to capture. Imagine:

Go, Lord Vanaduke, I choo-

*FWOOOOOOOM*

So, I am assigned by mister Feron to got the aurora isle to chop wood. Whith a rusty axe, i chopped for a while and a made alot of lumbers (even thought I could just destroy the lumbers with my trollaris). I guess branched dialouge could work, but you have to consider the fact that the SK universe is small as hell, even my fan-fic has more plots in it than the real lore. Eg, the dialouge is often left open ended for the various converation option in the game. I don't really think the dwarfs hired by Nick are good at writting dialouges and I don't think anyone would really wanna sit and watch their character chat with a NPC for half a minute.

The only time this game got me emotional is Arkus's death, the poor guy, overwhelmed by his guilt was atlast brought down, i fought him on solo just for the heck of it, and when he is finally down, I feel like I done him a favour by killing him. I swear to myself that I will never go back there again, so that way his soul is not disturbed(and the fact shock greavers are a complete pain in the butt). I wish that there might be some kind of character development in the future so that I can actually care about these NPCs in haven. So far, I don't give a flying rat about any of them, I always go up to Feron and call him fat, harrasses Vaelyn in a bad way after finishing an arcade run, call Bechamel names and think of Desna as the Spiral knight equivelent of She-hulk. I hope the non combat part expand on the universe of SK and make poeple more immersed.

Here is an example of how I would expand on the plot, and hopefully give nick some idea:
The rivalry between Herex and Seerus was a long one, but deep down, Herex does nold admiration for Seerus, for the longest time, Seerus has been like a big brother to him. They went seperate way after Seerus was masked the warmaster. Herex's hate for Seerus comes from his Jealousy of his greatness. You went on a mission to find Herex in his seret lab and after a gruelling battle. Herex finally falls, in his dying breath, he recalls the time he and Seerus were friend and they oathed that together they will protect the colony and the core at any cost. Now lying on the ground, Herex gives his final speech, “I see now why he is the War master now. Knowledge and bravery is only a fraction of what it takes to be a great man… Seerus, am I now just as great as you were? I gave it my 200%... Hope I was a…worthy rival…” *dies*

Ps. those are just some of my suggestion on how the story of Herex could end. I hate the idea that Herex is just another nut bag scientist. His notes in the scenario room and his mail in C42 suggests that he is like Goldman or Roy Curien from the house of the dead series.
