Hi there,

As you all know, lockdown is super competetive. Lots and lots of (good) players have their own youtube channels where they upload matches and such, however due to the small community they usually get under 500 views which is quite pathetic actually, with a view noteable exceptions ofcourse.

I propose moving all of our recordings, activity and gameplay to Twitch.tv. LD has a lot of potential to become a big online pvp game mode. Much larger than it is right now.

I mean, if a game like The binding of Isaac can do it, I'm fully convinced SK can as well.

Besides, dropping your gameplay on youtube won't reach the right audience, since twitch is focused on games you have a bigger chance to reach the right audience.

Who knows, maybe in the near future everyone will be playing LD instead of league of legends, I doubt it, but as I said, LD has the potential to become similar in terms of prominence.

I like your spirit, fallen one. But I much prefer seeing chawk's weapon demo and meroka's aracade run on youtube than watching LD. I did spectate LD alot when I was new to the game, but sadly I got boared ot it. It is always the same, skolver clones+AT noobs+a guy called contri+ GF/DA/VT/Chaos=T3 LD, I almost wished that OOO can take a note or two off the book of LoL or DOTA and make a bunch of class(legit characters with unique skill traits) so that way noone would complain about UV/weapon imbalance and all those crappy issues. And balance can be made to those classes so that no damage is done to PvE.

For now, with the limited resources OOO have and the fact that this game doesn't have good global latency, even if alot of people across the globe did join, not all of them will go for LD. There are better PvP games out there that they can play, COD, TF2 and BF (the community is, slightly better... lol, who am I kidding. All PvPers are jerks except for a few individuals). And I doubt if OOO will make better PvP contents, so far the pay off from LD is unappealing to me who is a pure PvE player. But if OOO make PvP into an essential element in the character progression (eg, get radiant crystals for playing LD), they will run the risk of pissing off the PvE section of the game (OOO, DON'T YOU DARE!!!).

Ps. not gonna lie, when I do play PvP games in the past, I was a different person, constantly raging and smashing my mouse against my pad after losing. Now I knew why, there is a demon inside me, he urges to win and get good K/D ratio, he wants all the good guns and equipement in the game, he is never satisfied with my performance and never allow me to rest. But now, I left him behind, and by avoiding LD and any PvP stuff, I finally leashed that demon. I need something to keep that demon in check, a game like SK. And I won't let LD and its rats set that demon free again.

Not JUST LD.

It's not limited to LD. You should be thinking in the area of:

-Just fun runs with friends
-Fooling around
-Tips, tricks and glitches
-Let's plays
-Rule 34.

Possibilities are endless as there is always room for meliorism.

Im not sure about PvP since

Im not sure about PvP since is only a fun mode, people make it competitive but OOO doesnt care about it. The PvE is and will be the most important thing to improve just look at warframe (totally different genere and etc i know) DE does massive LORE related events and etc something you will never see in spiral.

On a more serious note; sadly deviantart is full of ruler 34 SK. Searching for it is not recommended.

Luka Boy, where are you when you're needed?

I've seen some of the stuff, there's quite a few talented artists out there. Actually, I'll rephrase that. There are a lot of talented artists that aren't ashamed to draw what they're thinking. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with looking at it either. (assuming you're not a minor) Don't think you're strange for wanting to look at those things :P /queue "the talk"

Well there's a limit for most things,

I'd rather not watch seerus jamming his 'hammer' up a poor spookkat, yet I can not unsee it now.

Anyway, we're drifting off topic, just slam all of your videos on twitch instead of youtube, it'll be easier for you to built a fanbase and the game will get a bigger community.

Out of all the weird things I'm into, I still can't stand people using the wrong door.

I'd love to show the game around, but uh, I'm not that popular outside the games I play in. Which are few.

They need to work on Spectating in Lockdown IMO. Give it more RTS style camera controls instead of just basic following players around. It's really hard to stay focused on one location with the current method of spectating. In addition, spectators should be able to zoom out and see more of the map at a time, as well as have a better minimap so they can actually see when players on opposing teams meet without physically have their camera following them.

Also, they'd need a method of implementing private games, ideally with various settings. That way you can actually organize a team/tourny beyond "ALRIGHT EVERYONE QUEUE IN 3... 2... 1...GO!" That way they can also satisfy people who believe auto-target gives you an unfair advantage (despite it literally being one of the only things in lockdown that every knight can use) or the Polaris is a broken and weapon that can't be allowed (even though good players see a Polaris spammer as a free kill because of the predictable nature of the Polaris).

@Traevelliath

Implementing spectating like that could be abused. In GLD, you could send a 7th guildie to spectate one spot so that they can inform the rest of the guild, which would be rather unfair.

That is already happening.

They COULD fix the fact that when the player you're spectating goes invisible, you lose track of him, that's bs.

If you wanna fix spectating, Have it have a 30 second delay, so that your seeing things after it happens, and not before. :D

Well I know with Dota 2, you can preset a delay so that broadcasters/spectators are a few minutes behind what is actually happening. Usually it is 2 minutes, but Dota games last around 40 minutes per while Lockdown matches last about 5-10 minutes, assuming roughly equal skill levels. 30 second delay seems fine by me.

I mean people always will be trying to cheat. However, if you want your PvP matches to gain you fame, you need to make them very spectator friendly. Ideally maybe even add in an option to save replays of your favorite games that you can re-watch.

Right now the problem with using lockdown to gain fame is that your only viewers are basically other lockdown players who are either writing you off as just another good LD player or are thinking that you are terrible. I'd love to see tournaments with actual rewards for the winning teams, and then some way for a casual players to invest a bit of themselves into said tournament. The simplest example is just betting crowns on who's going to win, but it could even be like a fantasy league type game where you create a dream team of players, and then get rewards based on how well said players do.

That being said, this all goes back to being able to organize tournaments, and then have said tournaments be easy for a casual player to view.

EDIT**

Oh! Btw, I know people don't think that 500 views is a lot, but IMO it is. To put 500 into perspective, my high school preforming arts center was nice and well made theater, if not a bit on the small size. It only held about 400 people at a time.

Won't happen. Simply because

Won't happen. Simply because the most played mode (and supposedly competitive, right) of Locdown, which is tier 3, takes too much time to get entrance to, and even more time to get proper gear for. You can still try, but be aware it will only end in failure.

Good connections and UV gear dominate LD. As long as you can strafe around and poke people there is nothing more to it... LD is rather simplistic and boring.

There's a variety of players all with different tactics and skills.

Once you beat them all effortlessly come back and say you are bored and that LD is simplistic.

Your pessimistic buncombe isn't appreciated.

my 2 cents

I stream PvE stuff only on Twitch... I just don't want people to see me check the AH and talk to my guild mates for 1h... it's boring... it's a MMORPG... it's not a MOBA game....

If you want to stream a MMORPG and restrain it to a mini-game (because let's face it, LD is only a mini-game of SK) then there is not much entertainment there...

But again you can do what you want, more streamer couldn't hurt SK... Me and my friend has decided to stream more often SK too and with Meroka charity event on the 16th. SK might gets some attention o.O

Edit: Why don't you stream BN instead? It requires Skill and only skill.

And before someone starts the "it requires a connection too", LD does too -_-

not yet it isnt

Auto Aim and HP trinkets doesnt make this a true PvP game.

Most Competitive PvP games start with players that have no advantage over the other. Everyones got 100HP and similar weapons.
Lockdown is full of "skilled" players but not skilled players. (I did meet one true LD player. had 4star gear and was freaking awesome)

Hmm.

I disagree.

If a player can devestate you without losing health, I say it's either your incompetence or his skill. Yes, skill.

However, I do agree that you should both die in the same number of hits. Depending on your type of defense though.

I don't think it's fair that when I wear full snarb (shadow defense) --> glacius charge, leaves me with 21% hp --> acheron charge 1 shot kills me. That's just not right. Because it means there's no defense against acheron other than shadow max uvs or avoiding the hit.

No.

Lockdown is unbalanced and people take it too seriously. All you see is the same weapon 90% of the time: Skolvers, Flourish's, Faust's, etc.

Every time LD is brought up in my guild, it always leads to an argument. Nearly every person I met about LD, they take it so seriously, it's like up to eleven.

Like other people said, certain items make it even more unbalanced such as trinkets, auto-target just makes it even worse.

Idc if you are gonna scream in my face, I am telling what truly what LD is in it's current state: Unbalanced, bloodthirsty serious players.

Even the simplest kill I do, I get shouted out for being a moron or hacking, or something like that.

OOO doesn't even bother touching it since it's release, it shows how lazy they are. I seen other games like TF2 that put more work into balancing compared to this.

I fail to see any skill in there, more like who's got the best weapons, mostly UVs.

You can scream and shout at me all you want, it won't change anything or even LD in any way, it's the truth anyway no matter what.

Psst... they did buff the Recon cloak recently... Just sayin :P

And yeah you do bring up a big point about the community (as well as others, but you put it best). The community really needs to get less hostile if people are going to enjoy the sport of it.
