Hi again,
and welcome back, if this is your first time attending my class, go ahead and read the first one.
Today's lesson will be about blindspots. This lesson applies to strikers, recons and guardians. Blind spots are areas where strikers, recons and guardians can dwell undetected with enough time to carefully plan your demise. The most common blind spot is the one I like to refer to as ‘angle blind’. Seeing as the game is played from a a top down view which is also angled, the game gives us a wide as well as far view as to what it happening above us. While this is a huge advantage regarding your field of view for the top half of the map, it leaves you completely undefended for attacks from below.
It may sounds obvious but a lot of people don’t realize it, from personal experience I can say there are at least 5 times during any random match where I have the opportunity to walk up from below while they cap, charge my storm driver, shoot them with the charge and then devestate them with a single GF swing. Luckily there is a way to defend yourself from such tactics. Never. Stop. Moving. While it’s not completely foolproof, it’s better than being the suicidal player standing still. It should also be noted that most of your time during a match should be spend on the bottom half of the map, don’t go up unless you really have to
There is a second type of blind spot, but to not make the lessons too tedious and dreadfully long I’ll just make a second part soon if enough interest is shown.
Cheers,
-Sci.
