Have you ever wondered while traveling the clockworks, ''what happens with all this extra heat.'' You sit there watching that heat meter go down but with your gear at max heat, its pointless. You also want crystals too, correct? Not to mention that heat amplifiers are pointless. So what can we do to fix this? My suggestion is a device I'd like to call the crystal generator! There are 2 possible systems for the crystal generator. Similar but different, these systems will use all the wasted heat and turn it into something useful!
System one involves equitable crystal generators. The generators would come in different levels. Level 3 generator would produce glowing fire crystals while a level 4 generator produces shining fire crystals. The generators are on fixed levels and you may equip whichever one you want for whatever crystal you want. When the heat bar fills up all the way it will have produced a crystal. Afterwards it would restart the heat bar and proceed to fill up until its full again. http://imgur.com/3XlDWLp This is what it would look like.
System two involves only one generator that goes through levels. Starting at level zero and working its way to level 5 (max). Anytime during the levels you may ''claim'' the fire crystals, afterwards having it will restart to level zero. If I were to claim the crystals on a level 3 generator, I would get a fixed amount of glowing fire crystals. It will then restart to level 0. This system would make crystals more accessible (but not too accessible) to players. Gear would get leveled up, heat would not go to waste, and heat amplifiers would have use again. Suggestions, comments, concerns?
i really like the idea of the first system. maybe have the generators not be levels, but have them based on stratums.
maybe you can purchase temporary generators, like amps.
