Suggestion for heat

Have you ever wondered while traveling the clockworks, ''what happens with all this extra heat.'' You sit there watching that heat meter go down but with your gear at max heat, its pointless. You also want crystals too, correct? Not to mention that heat amplifiers are pointless. So what can we do to fix this? My suggestion is a device I'd like to call the crystal generator! There are 2 possible systems for the crystal generator. Similar but different, these systems will use all the wasted heat and turn it into something useful!

System one involves equitable crystal generators. The generators would come in different levels. Level 3 generator would produce glowing fire crystals while a level 4 generator produces shining fire crystals. The generators are on fixed levels and you may equip whichever one you want for whatever crystal you want. When the heat bar fills up all the way it will have produced a crystal. Afterwards it would restart the heat bar and proceed to fill up until its full again. http://imgur.com/3XlDWLp This is what it would look like.

System two involves only one generator that goes through levels. Starting at level zero and working its way to level 5 (max). Anytime during the levels you may ''claim'' the fire crystals, afterwards having it will restart to level zero. If I were to claim the crystals on a level 3 generator, I would get a fixed amount of glowing fire crystals. It will then restart to level 0. If I were to claim on level 4, I would get shining fire crystals and so on. http://imgur.com/rR4CnMG&3XlDWLp This is what it would look like.

This system would make crystals more accessible (but not too accessible) to players. Gear would get leveled up, heat would not go to waste, and heat amplifiers would have use again. Suggestions, comments, concerns?

i really like the idea of the first system. maybe have the generators not be levels, but have them based on stratums.
maybe you can purchase temporary generators, like amps.

I like first idea more.

I think it's more possible for Generator to be a sort of trinket that adds certain type of Fire Crystal to your drops when it heats up a level. This way OOO would still be getting their energy from Trinket slot upgrades.

@Qwote If we were getting heat based off of stratums, how would that work? We don't want heat to go to waste but we don't want players getting crystals too fast. If you leave the clockworks and come back, would the heat level of the generator start off where it left? It just seems like more problems. As for a temporary generator, that could run into The-Vindicars idea of a trinket you wear to get Fire crystals from.

@The-Vindicar The trinket idea works well as it is an equitable and would encourage players to get more trinkets/trinket upgrades. I'm unsure what you mean by having fire crystals drop. The generators are suppose to convert heat into making the crystals.

The whole idea of the crystal generator is to give heat/heat amplifiers more use. It makes sense too as heat and fire crystals are used in the same systems. Fire crystals just seem like ''concentrated heat''.

If you start at emberlight for each lvl you will get 1 crystal and if you reach the core you can craft your staked Fires for free

That's a completely different system and wouldn't integrate heat at all. If you earn 1 crystal per floor then whats the point of heat? We want heat to have more use again, the crystal generator was just a suggestion. A suggestion that used heat.

I prefer system one over system two; it helps solve the issue of wasted heat whilst helping the issue of there being few crystals, requiring a lot of tedious farming.
