After a player is kicked for non-participation in LD a queuing person with the same balance gear as the person that left should be able to join the game free of charge. This substitute will gain all the same items (krogs, and crowns) as the team. Please feel free to mke edits to this
Possible antidote for Lock Down non-participation
How is it exploitable?
Since there is no way to actively choose when you join a game with this system. That being said, it would be completely unfair to the players who were already in the match, since they had to play through the whole game and pay the fee, while the new player gets the same rewards for free and less effort

So it's fair to just let the players have a game with badly unbalanced teams?
Or are you saying it's fair for the substituting player to pay the full fee for only part of a game?
neither is fair, in a way. both are reason why this idea wouldn't work right with the LD system.
Pick one. You can't just say "oh that won't work" because one of them is already in play:
- Current System: The leaver's team is penalized for the rest of the game with the odds stacked against them. The pot is split among the winners.
- New System A: A spectater can join a match if there is a leaver, but he must pay the full fee. Fee goes into the pot, so essentially the winnings go up by 8-12%
- New System B: A spectater can join a match if there is a leaver. Spectater takes the leaver's place directly, meaning their fee is covered. No change to the winnings
The New System B method is the most preferred because it encourages substitution, something that people wouldn't normally do if they had to pay (because if they had to pay, they (a) wouldn't join a game with a leaver because often the leaver's team is at a disadvantage and is losing and (b) would just prefer to start a new game since they're paying for a full match, might as well get one)
sorry Hex, i replied to your post wrong. i was trying to say that the current system is ok, even with it's flaws. I don't really like the idea of substitutions for lock down, although the way you described it sounds a lot better than the OP. If i had to choose between a new system, i'd choose System B as long as it only applied to Guild games and spectators were allowed to choose to take the place as opposed to a random player waiting for a lockdown match to join a game for free, even if at a disadvantage. Having the players of a random match be able to change that frequently would disrupt the flow of the game and force the players on both teams to adjust to a new player, and the new player will have to adjust to being thrown into a match that he/she might not want to fully commit to due to the fact that it was incomplete.
However, as i said above, it sounds like a viable option in a guild game where the substitutions would be planned and all the players on the team would be expecting it. It would also promote team strategic play to allow more dynamic play styles. Only, i'd only like it if the player can only voluntarily leave the match while in the locker room, and the player joining must spawn in the locker room as well.

I never even considered that. That's a neat idea.
Sounds exploitable for free Krogmos.
