Lately I've seen a lot of /laugh after killing an opposing player. That's just poor sportsmanship. I can understand if the guy has been tooting his own horn the entire time, but really, it's poor sportsmanship.
Instead, try a different emote:
1: Copy /thanks with Ctrl-C.
2: When someone saves your butt or helps you take down an opponent, or when a Guardian heals you for a significant amount of HP, paste /thanks into the chat by pressing Enter and then Ctrl-V. (Finish any fighting (or sneaking) first; don't /thanks in the middle of a battle.)
3: Repeat.
Come to think of it, you could do this in the Clockworks, too. Someone just shield bump a Lumber away from you, or take a bullet (or suitcase) headed for you on their shield? Kill it off and /thanks.
How does this help? When people get recognized for helping out, it makes them feel good. As an added bonus, this increases their morale and makes them fight better!
I'd love to see this but it's LD we're talking about. It could be nice in PvE too but I mostly play with people who know how to play properly and thus, we just help each other out because that's how you play this game.
