Moving Spiral Knights into gaming consoles will be a great new way to experience the game. The game already has gamepad controls so it will be easy for the game to be compatible for consoles.

This has been discussed before & was concluded that it'll probably never happen, seeing how the game is made with Java.

Java.

I know of one console that supports java. Its called Ouya. It was a kickstarter that got funded to port the smartphone game development type market to a console (so that new devs could start out nicely without paying API costs).
On a second note, I don't know anyone that actually owns one.

The problem isn't with Java, it's with reproducing the game on a new console, which is a herculean effort.

What other MMOs can you name that have been ported with cross platform connectivity onto a console?

Yeah, that's right. None.

To be fair, that was basically the only one I could find.

I was thinking about that one (I couldn't remember how it worked though)
Also, I don't know this for sure but is Elder Scrolls Online going to be cross platform too?

Nevertheless, that's two games developed by huge gaming companies in the last 10 years or so that MMOs have been really popular.
