Let's be honest, the more depot sales/promos, the less rare/expensive items remain in the market.
It's too time-consuming to ask tons of players in-game; so data collecting in the forums is much easier.

Sorry if this may have been posted already before; i'm too lazy/busy to search it and double-check.

------------

I might not be the best when it comes to the market but I am pretty sure I understand enough to give a few educated answers.

Q1:Never

These recent sales might make the AH price for the items to lower but it also resupplies the wealthy traders with fresh a stock of items. After a accessory sale like this is normally when rare items die off a bit. They will come back slowly up to price when traders feel it is the right time to resupply the AH with their stock of items. The chances for items to completely die off is unlikely due to the supply depot. It might bring down the market soon after but in the long run it would be logical to assume it also keeps the items in circulation longer.

Q2:Other

As I explained before these depot sales refresh the current stock of accessories, even if it is only for the wealthy. The thing is if you have enough to buy them off the depot you should also know about how much they go for on AH. This means you will only buy things you know will make a profit, even if it takes a bit of time. Prize box promos might work but often cost a lot of CE or real money which limits the availability quite a bit.
Option D is not a very good choice to take because if you increase the amount of accessories too fast they become worthless and no one would be willing to buy them, see Hallow or Frosty for good examples. This kills the market for those items and they are forever known as worthless. Keeping the high end accessories at a high CE cost in the depot limits who is able to get them while still not over populating.

I might be completely wrong here so take what I said with a grain of salt. I am no the best trader and as such my knowledge of the market might not be accurate, which I think is quite likely. Also im sorry if my english in this post is confusing, im tired and I often make mistakes when it comes to my greek to english translations.

One of two futures await

One of two futures await us:
The sale will end OR The sale is just the beginning of something bigger.

If the sale ends and it is not repeated, then it was an opportunity for merchants to make investments. Life will return to normal.

BUT If the sale is just the beginning of a permanent accessory section of the Mann Co. store, I mean, Supply depot then the era of high profit cosmetic investments are finished. The only way a player could possibly compete with the depot then is for the items to accessible outside of it for a significantly lower cost; eg crafting or better lockbox chances.

Just because something becomes common doesn't make it worthless though, Hallow items are still 'worth' something. Hallow wings had the same drop rate as headbands, but are much more desirable.

Does OOO want to bust up merchant culture? Or add to it? Wait and see.
But... You are now aware OOO *may* have made hundreds of thousands of dollars this week. Pretty significant if you ask me.
