Which would be better against gremlin healers? The bubble thing is a pain for my FF. I'd like to get your thoughts on this. My thoughts are as follows:

Venom Veiler
+Stops all healing from every monster (except poison themed)
+Makes mobs weaker
+Great team presence
-Is not as powerful as Acheron
-Does not do much damage and would require an extra weapon slot

Acheron
+Arguably the best weapon in the game for nearly everything
-Does not stop healing
-Does not make mobs weaker

It's hard to decide between the two. I rarely see VV used but it seems very good. Acheron...is Acheron.

In most cases an Acheron with some ASI can combo a Mendor to death in one go.

@Rezzler Yeah I was with someone who had that...GG Indeed. I wish I crafted it >_<
@Leekcoco Thanks, I didn't know that. I hate the freaking bubble. I have Vog armor so I get ASI from that.

Still looking for advice, especially from VV users!!!

There are two strategies for dealing with healers.

0. Kill the healer.

1. Poison/kill everything, ignoring the healer. (if no poison is of avail, killing the healer first is almost always better)

The only cases where it really matters which is used are when:

-The healer respawns (making poison the only viable option)
-The enemies around the healer avoid being poisoned via immunity or otherwise (making poison impossible to pull off)

The problem, is that to make the game difficult, you'll need to respawn the healer AND prevent the player from poisoning their way out of it. In that situation, poison won't do anything, and acheron will do everything. For instance: the last wave in legion of almire has 2 respawning healers and deadnauts. In this situation, it is difficult to keep the deadnauts poisoned due to the almirian crusaders that hunt you down mercilessly. Rather, you would want something like Warmaster Rocket Hammer or Blitz Needle, that can KO things quickly and efficiently. The same holds true for Acheron.

VV is amazing in arenas and can do what acheron doesnt, kill hordes of foes with almost no effort. Other than that setting up a VV in a clockworks run takes more time than a single combo of acheron and often not that useful. A VV really shines in decon zones and arenas where healers are plenty and so are other enemies. With a single healer VV doesnt really work and acheron can just be more useful.

So in short, if there are more healers and tighly packed enemies use VV, if not use Acheron.

inexperienced vs. experienced

If you're a fairly inexperienced player who's still getting the essential 5-star items, then go with Acheron, because it's such a strong weapon all around. In a crowd of monsters, making a surgical strike to take out the mender isn't really easy, but it's fun, and that's worth something.

If you're an experienced player who's bored with the usual "kill everything as fast as possible" play style, then try out Venom Veiler. Poison is an under-appreciated status. It helps your team greatly, without disrupting teammates, as freeze and shock can. Be a team supporter for a while. You might have fun playing in a "support the team" play style.

Your comment about the VV is innacurate. You stated "VV is amazing in arenas and can do what acheron doesnt, KILL hordes of foes with almost no effort". This is not true, since the bomb really is only used for poison status. It isn't used to "kill" anything. It is the best bomb to COUNTERACT healers, but it in no way replaces acheron when it comes to cleaning arena rooms of monsters.

@OP When in doubt, bring both the bomb and the sword. Poison from the bomb + acheron charge usually equals a guarenteed kill depending on what monster you attack and what difficulty the mission/clockworks run is.

You see that? That is a SURFBOARD WAVE!

FORGET ABOUT IT. USE OBSIDIAN EDGE. ULTIMATE KO.

(Late) Replies and thanks

Thanks to all responders.
I decided to strive for the VV since, as Bopp put it, I don't like the "kill everything as fast as possible" play style. I saw a VV in use (Not joking) and it was great. I may get both as Terra put it but for now the VV should suffice.
@Wolfe I do a ton of arenas so thanks for that input :).
Also @Fehzor Great point about the crusaders. The VV seems to have a generous radius though, so would keeping the deadnauts and healers poisoned really be tough?
And @Anni I already responded about OE.

The problem is that the radius is directional- which means that you have to get them facing away from your bomb in the haze for a second or two before the poison will actually get to them. On top of that, deadnauts are, like most undead, resistant to poison. This isn't such a terrible thing to pull off, but it is hard to maintain long enough to actually solve the problem.

Venom Veilor is still an awesome easy way out on A LOT of levels though.
