I just.. I don't understand.

A handsome, dashing jelly to be sure, hiss; but compared to Cherub in his broken-knight armor, the GMs (Not Cronus, he's a snipe...) and the like, it seems a little... unorthodox.

A jelly is native to some homeworld that the knights did not originate from, correct? Why would you choose this as an avatar?

At the very most, it seems detached from the plot. Snipes are tied to the strangers who assisted the knights in setting up camp, so Cronus gets a pass. Cherub's pretty much a legend at this point...

But what about jellies, hiss? Was it a whim? Are jellies actually more integral to the story than we realize?

Is it based on the joy of being able to wear a toupee?
Is it because, if we saw your true form, we'd despair; you silly trojan?

It's really odd is all, hiss.

Hiss.

"Why are you hissing?"

Why not, hiss?

If you must know it is because I have acquired a speech impediment due to watching too many cheap black and white kung-fu movies.

Time to start paying for quality movies from redbox.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

he's not a jelly. he's an impostocube.
that being said, it must be his favourite monster. also, impostocubes have better-than-jelly intelligence, so...

Better than jelly is still slightly above jelly.

[refrains from making jelly related statements that could be considered intelligence insults, heaven forbid.]

But still, why a cube? A cube masquerading as..if it.. had.. a manly disposition.

Don't these slimedice not have genders?

This is very relevant, if not critical, to the integrity of the now partially existing plot.

I think the hissing is because his armor's powered by steam. Absolutely nothing suspicious.

As for Nick, maybe it's because jellies are amorphous, and he thought it was symbolic.

Insert jab about 24 "totally new" guns here.

Oh here we go-

But no, I am absolutely under-no-circumstances a Steam Knight.

... okay I am, but I was forced to do so for an expansion discount, hiss.

That has absolutely, positively no bearing on this though. As I most truthfully stated earlier, the hissing is due to my inability to whistle for extended periods of time.

I am -incredibly curious- about this jelly thing, hiss. Impostoclaus hints that it is significant, but I don't see in what way.

.. Maybe the jelly is the only (possibly) neutral party that exhibits a hint of sentience?

Depends on how you see "neutral". Vanaduke doesn't go after more land but tries to disintegrate anything foreign that comes close. He doesn't care about any power source or the Knights beyond that.

Then there's the lore behind Ghosts in the Machine...

You mean...

My lore about Ghosts in the Machine?? About how-

The Nine is strong. But Junis always thought he was stronger. He was the 6th of the Nine. He can't be defied. He will build a facility like no other. Unfortunately, it was built on top of a graveyard. An ancient Almirian Graveyard. The radiating dark energy is too much. Once the facility is operating, gremlins began to experience accidents. Machines going haywire, having minds of their own. Even attacking against the gremlins. Junis had to flee. Something under was entering the machines and making them move. Even worse, a big project is incomplete. The Big Iron, a supposed Superweapon, has been malcfunctioning lately. The factory was adbandoned. Later on, knights explored the place. They could never get out. All they experienced is static...and an eye, glowing in the depths of the electric darkness. The knights were never heard from again. They have left many help messages and messages on how the place is trapped, but no one came. Years later, the messages were sent to Haven. "Help me." Who and what sent the messages,no one knows. But down there, in the broken down cursed factory, knights have always said there have been....Ghosts in the Machine.

So! What do you think? Just typed this up. Hope I explained everything. Best storyline in the game.
Also, I think you keep on saying "Hiss" is because you're addicted to anthro snakes. Alright, so yeah.

@ Annilation

Poppycock! I obviously say hiss, as I have mentioned countless times before, because I have stubbed my toe on the internet and haven't gotten over the inital jolting pain.

How does this lore explain Nick being a gumdrop though, hiss?

Hold it!

Objection!

Your Honor, the defendant changed his testimony again! How can anyone be sure he's telling the truth?

@Annilaton That story is far less interesting and straightforward than it could be. What if the old suits of armor were from a totally different civilization, or from explorer Knights from years ago, brought to Cradle on the world they were researching? Slapping "The Gremlins did it" on every mechanical structure in the game is lame.

Those last two cases are probably the best in the series, next to the ones with Gant and Godot.

Hmm

New Observation: Everything in the General Discussion is negative. Everything in the Treasure Vault is compliments and positiveness. Draycos, Treasure Vault. Treasure Vault Draycos. You say my story is old and lame. But your super-duper commonplace profile picture matches your description of my story. And also, if you say my profile is also commonplace, you are right. You could use some pie right now.
