KK,something i made up at the fly here, please correct me if this is in the wrong forum though, had no idea where to put this,so,lets start off.

First, to get my point straight away, i think cradle is a Simulation. Cue the random drumms!
seerusly though, i think it is because, you know, each level is randomly gererated, wich could mean this world is actually just one big computer. with the core as its battery.

well then, you might think WOAH WOAH WOAH, got any proof for that smart guy?
Not really, but we do have this
a nice start, but does that prove anything at all? No, no it does not. but i COULD explain the core, the shadowlairs and the sanctuary with this.
lets say that cradle is indeed a computer, and that the clockworks is basicly a program. that would mean the shadow lairs could be a bug in the system, and yes, i am sugessting the swarm is a virus, but all good computers should have virus protection right? i feel like the sanctuary is something like that. the swarm is basiclly a virus, infecting all the not-so-nice things living (or being androids?) except the fiends for some reason, and i can explain that. the fiends, did what we did. they went to cradle, but not for harvesting the power of the core however, wich i consider strange, but for an unknown reason. they got here and they can not go back, just like the Knights. no idea why they decided to ally with the gremlins.

anyway, thats kinda all i got for now. if you see any wrong informaion or have something to add, feel free to post it!
il credit you whenever i can. ( wich is most likely the day after you post, except if you post on fridays anyway.)

Well here is my suggestion:

Cradle was once a star, after years of dwelling in the universe, it gained a consciousness. The star became an entity known as Inceptron, whose only wish is to expand across the universe, but to do that, he needs to convert his energy into beings, living beings that can help him expand his influence over the universe. So he created a planet with his own enmergy, materialized into matter. This is why the planet is called Cradle, the cradle of his desciples.

His first desciples are the jellies, then they evolved into multicellular organisms such as wolvers, soon enough, Almirians are made, Inceptron designated one of the almirian, named Vanaduke, to be his civilization's architect. The almire empire flourished for about four hundred years thanks to vanaduke and the fact that he was gifted with eternal life by Inceptron. But unknowst to Vanaduke, Inceptron wasn't happy with how the almirians turned out (they kind of stopped after the invention of 'cold' (melee) weapons). So Inceptron decided to turn Vanaduke into a monster, and used him to destroy the empire he once helped to create.

The ruins of the FSC is Vanaduke's prison. He is forever trapped in the eternal sorrow of killing his people. Inceptron now started his new project, the Gremlins, whose intellect should surpass the ancient Almirians. He designated a new architect, whose name is, you guessed it, Tinkinzar. Tinkinzar was much batter than vana, he actually expanded Cradle, adding additional layers to the planet, making it bigger and better. Inceptron was impressed, so he happily laid back in the centre of the planet, awiating the good news from Tinkinzar, but Tinkinzar had other plan. He knows one day Inceptron will wipe out his own people once they reached their peak, so he trapped Inceptron deep beneath the core and drained him of all his energies. Tinkinzar created a metal sphere to contain his former master, who is now his slave.

Inceptron, enraged, but is now powerless due to Tinkinzar's new invetion, the Swarm. A field of extreme negative energy that can dissolve Inceptron if he tries to escape. After 4000 years of waiting, Inceptron suddenly sensed a disturbance in the space, a large space cruiser was orbiting the planet once he owned. It was Skylark, he knows the people inside will help him in his escape. Yes, we are his ticket out of Tinkinzar's prison. Once Inceptron is freed he will devour the planet and revert it back to his control.

I know my lore is fake, but I hate the fact people actually believed in echo stone, a bunch of talking rocks over their true profet, Midnight DJ. I mean think about it? Why would Tinkinzar go through all that trouble just to seal the core(he deviced the clockword, it is said in the wiki)? And also, why putting a shadow lair in front of every core entrances, I assume santuarary is a place where we are brain-washed by Inceptron. (we are very close to him, thus his influence is very strong) so tinkinzar would have made evey precaution to stop anyone who tries to reach the core (the dead Gremlins in the unknown passage are those who defied Tinkinzar).

This is the lore for my SK fan fic, so don't take it seriously, Inceptron is as powerful as god, he can convert the planets, making new ones, throw suns at his foes and he is just as ruthless as Tinkinzar (he doesn't care, once he is freed, he will kill us all anyway).

When you're this swag this world just bows at your knees

When writing short stories for year 12 English, my teacher said she would fail anyone who used the "I woke up and it was all a dream" plot twist.
I imagine people will be pretty ticked if Three Rings had used a similar lame plot.
