Up until now I had never done a Danger mission, mainly because I always ran FSC and never bothered with my Prestige missions. Today was my first attempt at one, and it was Ghost in the Machine, T2.
HOLY CRAP WAS IT HARD.
The first floor wasn't too bad. I sort of flew into a panic when I reached the final wave of enemies and saw a Royal Guard, but I managed to bring the beast down without needing a spark. But the second floor made up for it in spades. Getting the keys was, no questions ask, the hardest thing I have faced in this game so far. The right room was so blinding with the roaming spark wheels and the hordes of skeletons and retrodes that proper movement was a good guess at BEST. I burned a spark just to kill the RG quicker. The heart box trap was a cute touch too, like the game was laughing at my pain.
The second key room, the one on the left, was in its own league of insanity. Never have I seen that many slags before, at least not that many BOMBER SLAGS. I had to take out the turrets first because the slags were bound to take care of themselves, but once the RG came in that wasn't the case, and I had to burn two more sparks just to make it out of that room, and I nearly died carrying the key back to the damn gate.
Once I got to the machine, I was like "Seriously, a BOSS!? After all that? GIVE ME A BREAK!"
But he wasn't too bad. It was slow going because my weapons weren't ideal for fighting something like that, but I managed without needing another spark.
Thankfully, the reward was worth it, must've been at least 50 boxes, mostly red. I might get into the habit of doing these every day, but are they ALL this hard? Should I expect this level of insanity from all of them?
The only one that isn't a "Wear X and you'll never die" type of mission is Legion of Almire. If you go into any of the missions save for the prior mentioned in anything that isn't Dragon Scale, Mercurial, and Skelly/Snarbolax+BKC, you're going to be annoyed immensely.
The Danger Missions are only profitable if you do not expend a single Spark of Life. Gear up, or nut up!
