If you're working on new content, please don't do it in phases and don't give us a deadline unless you're going to uphold it

Mostly a suggestion of what you've been doing lately.

First of all, please stop doing "Phases". This just leaves empty promises. You've said this with a couple of things and the only one I've actually seen that had a reason for it was the Arcade Redux since we were constantly stuck with the same Stratum's non-stop.

Secondly, please don't give us a deadline if you're going to change it at the last minute. You did this with the Battle Sprite update and just now with the Gunner Update. We understand it takes time. But if you keep doing this, you're just bringing hopes up and then just smashing it down into the ground. The Community went up in flames about the Battle Sprites being delayed if I recall. If you have an absolute time-frame that you know you'll actually hit, feel free to let us know. It's just a bit silly to be putting something that you had originally planned in November and delay it for another two months.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

it's not so easy with progamming. I would do what you said, really, but that would mean (practucally) giving one week between the announcement and the update. in games, you want to know some reactions before going on.

What Thunder said. This isn't an exact science (well it kinda is, but that's beside the point) it will take time to program all of this stuff, and sometimes it takes longer than they first thought it would. The only way to be 100% sure is to tell us just before the update happens, which isn't really all that helpful.

And they have to do it in phases, otherwise we would be waiting somewhere around 2-3 years for one large game changing update that may or may not be positively received by the community. With phases, players can try things out that are changing slowly and developers can adjust future updates based on player feedback.

All shell will break loose.

@Masterreeve
Pfft, since when has OOO listened to our feedback aside from the apocrea event?

The thing about programming is that the only way to figure out how long it takes to do something is to actually do it.

I'd just like to see them not say when the deadline is so we don't get our hopes up.
I don't really care about the new guns, but I know some people aren't all that thrilled about waiting 2 more months, maybe more.
Because, we all know it'll probably be released on Jan 31st.

Mushy, so you would be ok with never knowing we will even HAVE new content until a week before it's released? Think about it, since the last update if they never told us about the gunner update, that would be a large gap of time with no announcements at all; players would think the devs have stopped developing and just left the game as-is. Impatient players would quit due to the stagnant community. I personally would at least like to KNOW if we are going to have an update so i have something to look forward to.

Their less-than-perfect punctuality on updates is a separate story, and is due to the fact that they are probably understaffed. It isn't something that can just be fixed over night or by the players with suggestions, unless you intend to go working for OOO.

What I dont get is how they

What I dont get is how they could mess up so badly as to have the update be pushed back 2 whole months. Maybe they found out they were coding under the wrong sections or something. But seriously, Zeddy adn I both predicted the release date correctly.

November 31st it is!

So much illwill this way blows. If onlt three rings has the sense to give a reason to their actions then this acidity may be neutralized somewhat. But no. They throw a statement in our face and expect us to accept is as the word of god, even if we scream at them "Why?"

Firstly, this isn't a rant. I'm not mad about the delay announcement since I don't mind waiting. I'm specifically talking about the people who are saying "Three-Rings lied" because they specified a date and had to change it. This suggestion is to prevent said people from continuing this, people went up in flames about the Battle Sprites being delayed, and they're somewhat doing the same thing now.

Masterreeve, there's a difference between "announcing new content" and "announcing new content with a release date." When the Misison System was announced, all they did was gave us a sneak-peak at what to expect and was just quiet from then on which people were wondering "when it would happen." The last release was for Battle Sprites had information, sneak peaks, and a release date. People went up in flames when it was announced that there would be a month-delay from the original release date. It's happening now as I've seen at least four topics and various comments saying that "Three Rings has lied to us" all this suggestion is to do is still give us a release date, but later down the line when they're absolutely certain that it'll be released that date.

The first part is indeed my suggestion as I hate hearing the word "phases" from Nick as most of the time, he ends up not upholding it. He's said it with so many things that I feel as though it's just giving people false hope.

@Glacies

So you want ninja patches like the Radiant drought? Just let the SK team do their work and don't suggest a new schedule for them, K?
